Daily Doodles- Day 144- 08/09/24

Just a reminder to block all those tags and words connected to things that you don't want to see, hear and have live in your mind on this website.

Some people are too comfortable with sharing some vile stuff, even if it's not in a bad way per say.

Certain things should not be censored, but if you don't want to see those things, I'm glad that the blocking of tags work here. I know on other places curating what you see is pretty much non-existent.

one thing about biblical womanhood posts that I’ve noticed is that when it’s talked about, they still strive to emphasize the aspects that were remarkable situations— they leave a faint taste of feminism in my mouth because they focus on Deborah, the woman raised up to lead because the men wouldn’t; they focus on Jael, the woman who kills a man with a tent spike; a woman dropping a stone, Rahab smuggling Israelites and defying authorities—

And all of these are raised up and praised as the Biblical woman with just a hint of look!! We’re strong!! We’re in the thick of it!! We’re not submissive doormats!!

In one sense, this is true. These are great, godly women. They are our examples.

But in all our striving to remind people of biblical women’s strength, we cannot forget who else are our examples.

We cannot forget Ruth. Ruth who humbled herself and remains loyal with Naomi, submitting herself to God and trusting in His provision. Ruth who lays herself at Boaz’s feet and who sacrifices possibly being a widow soon again for the sake of Naomi’s care and God’s provision.

Martha— one who serves and who desires to serve

Mary— one who sits at Christ’s feet to learn and desires to hear the words of her Lord

Lydia— who insisted on hosting and serving the Lord’s messengers; who would be possibly sacrificing her wealth being a part of the church in Philippi and serving the church

Mary— Jesus’ mother who submitted herself to God’s will, submitted herself to the scorn of her peers, who trusted the Lord to fulfill His promises and whose soul was pierced with a sword

The strength of godly wives who submit though their flesh and curse is contrary— the strength of women who order their homes, are humble, are helpers, are mothers, are servers, are menders, are teachers, are caregivers, are sellers and makers, are students of our Lord.

Don’t confuse gentleness for weakness; nor tenderness for a lack of strength.

Women are strong.

And it’s not because of tent spikes.

It's crazy how ppl hate on Rowling, and praise Stephen King for speaking against her, when only one of them has written a child orgy in their books and it wasn't her

Y'all, I woke up from a nap yesterday and opened tumblr to browse some dp x dc.

Tell me why the first fic that popped up was Danny being held captive and s**ually assaulted by the GIW! (I'm censoring the word because I don't want to assault anyone's eyes like mine were)

Like, I know this fandom likes angst, but geez!

I banished that thing like it was a demon and I had to cleanse my pallet or whatever the term is because I was immediately put in a bad mood.

This is why you gotta block certain tags or words and probably don't reach for your phone first thing.

I need to get back into reaching for my Bible instead. Let my eyes take in the good news instead.

do you think jezebel deserved to die like that? Thrown from a window and eaten by dogs?

The woman who for thirty years openly defied the living God that gave her, a worm from the dirt, life? The woman who tried to murder the righteous man who served as a mouthpiece so that God could speak to His people—she tried to get rid of that? The woman who not only murdered a righteous man who only wanted to obey God by preserving his family field for his sons, instead of giving it to her worthless spoiled fool of a husband—and she didn't just murder him, she did it the cruelest way possible; by having his name publicly slandered and dragged through the mud so his family would be shamed as well as land-less after his death? The woman who helped introduced Baal-worship to the Israelites—Baal, the fake god who is worshipped through self-harm and child sacrifice?

Yeah. I do.

But who in the world cares what I think, or what you think, Jezebel deserved?? Who are we?

The God who invented our brain matter and wrote history and epitomizes justice said she deserved to die that way.

In fact, He decreed it. 1 Kings 21:23 "And of Jezebel the Lord also said, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel within the walls of Jezreel.’"

So who are you, to be asking this question? Who am I, that my answer to the question would matter?

Another Sammy drawing! She tends to have these daydreams where she's wearing these big, poofy, overly decorated dresses.

Between you and me, they're too much! 🤣🤣

The modern notion that sex and pregnancy aren't connected to one another has done untold damage to the people of this world.

Like. People aren't sex dolls that you can use and then throw away as you please. They are people and there are natural consequences of this kind of behavior. Some of them (like getting pregnant) are the natural result of sex, some are the result of sleeping around specifically (like broken relationships & STDs), and some (like abortion and broken households) are the results of people trying to avoid the consequences of their actions.

Sex is the font of life through which new human beings are brought into the world, and the refusal to accept this truth has caused so much death and heartache. The divine is not meant to be abused as such, and it shows.

Silly, silly funny looking creature masquerading as a dog that @wetdogblog posted.

Her name is Primrose and I decided to draw her as realistically as I could. Loved drawing her fur! So fluffy and curly!

The stuff I bought at the first con!

These cute earrings and necklace! I quite like this seller (cherry picked.tt on Instagram) The frying pan earrings are my favorite!

The Stuff I Bought At The First Con!
The Stuff I Bought At The First Con!

It was my mum's birthday the day of the con and we saw these beautiful turtle earrings that are exactly her style.

The Stuff I Bought At The First Con!

There were a couple of stationery booths and I got the transparent sticky notes that I see all over the stationery community. I got these two colours because they were the most pastel and I like the pastels

The Stuff I Bought At The First Con!

At the next booth, I got this cute notebook that I use for work...

The Stuff I Bought At The First Con!

And these cool pens!

The first is one of those multicoloured pens. It has ten colours! I think the character on top is called Kuromi.

The seconds is a covid vaccine pen! 🤣 I despise that 'vaccine' but this pen is too cute! It's not just a pen though. On the other side has a sort of squiggly stamp and at the bottom of the vaccine part has a covid virus stamp! I found these things out while fooling around with it.

The third is just aesthetically cute. It's, minimalist, pastel pink and has this cute removable heart charm!

I bought some stuff at the other con and I'll post that once I transfer all the pics to my computer.

After Years Of Observing These Caddisfly Larvae, French Naturalist And Artist, Hubert Duprat, Wondered

After years of observing these caddisfly larvae, French naturalist and artist, Hubert Duprat, wondered if the caddis flies would use any materials to build their cocoon. He introduced flakes of gold, pearls and opals to the caddis flies and they did in fact use them for their cocoons. They use their own silk as the glue to hold their pupal constructions together.

The thing about being religious is you'll talk about your beliefs and/or experiences with non-religious people, and they'll sort of pat you on the head and say, "Yes, what a nice little idea, I'm glad that you have your beliefs to comfort you!" and every time you have to bite your tongue because your religion isn't just a "nice little idea" to you, it's a cosmic truth that underlies all things, and furthermore, although God Himself has comforted you, that doesn't mean that faith itself is comfortable, but if you put any of that into words, they'll look at you funny.

I've never cared about Harry Potter or JK Rowling that much, but the fact that people were announcing that they were removing Harry Potter tattoos over her opinions, or boycotting a game and shaming anyone who didn't, or even burning books should have been what woke me up years ago. I have not heard of HP Lovecraft or worse authors getting as much hate as she has, to the point where even liking any of her work is met with scrutiny. Apparently separating the author from their work can only work if the author isn't even gently pressing against a certain dogma.

Another Sammy drawing! She was a very fashionable character in the '12-year-old throwing together random things that they like' kind of way.

No one is wholesome. No one is "pure." Such expectation wears away at a person's soul. It is like handing someone a magnifying glass, and with that glass, they look at their life. The previous actions in their life. Sorting such actions into pure (precious, worth protecting) or evil (wrong, worth eliminating), and after measuring the weight of the actions, they decide if they themselves are good or bad. "Am I still pure? After looking at these actions, am I still wholesome enough to receive care and love?"

I've seen it and felt it. I recoil when I see others call people wholesome as a result. (Actions can be in good faith. That is 'wholesome'. But an entire person...?) It is a comforting word for some, however.

young people are not going to want to hear this but some clothes should be ironed. you should own an iron and know how to use it. i genuinely see people comment on photos of influencers and celebrities like “wow how does that collared shirt look so good?!” girl it’s an iron. do you think they put a wire in their collar like robert pattinson in twilight

I’m so sorry but in the nicest way possible do yall actually read books or just read words??? Cause I’ve been seeing that trend of people not understanding how “snarled” and “eyes darkened” and “eyes softened” etc. was used in a book and like…

Genuinely, do yall just not have imagination?? Or not understand figurative language??? Also eyes do literally darken and soften have you not lived a life??? How do you read with no imagination? Is this how you get through so many books in one month - you simply don’t take the time the understand the words as they are read?
