this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)
the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)
all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)
you can get a free digital copy of this poster here on my gumroad!

So for anyone who doesn’t keep up with nz politics, which i’m assuming is most of you, our new radical right government have decided one of their main aims of their term will be to re-interpret the Treaty of Waitangi.
The Treaty is an agreement between Maori and the Crown, now the NZ government. It is the founding document of new zealand and is recognised as a constitutional document today; it is the only treaty of its kind/time still honoured, and it is the steps we’ve taken through the Treaty to provide restitution and build an ongoing relationship with Maori and their iwi (tribes) that has allowed the relationship between Maori and the government to thrive where other indigenous groups have struggled to achieve recognition of their rights.
This is going to be entirely undone. Not only is this issue inflammatory and a threat to race relations in Aotearoa, leaked documents show the proposed “reinterpretation” wants to negate pretty much the entirety of the legal rights provided to Maori under the treaty. For example, the treaty article that guarantees land rights for Maori will be reinterpreted to guarantee land rights for “all New Zealanders”. Which means this article would be essentially meaningless for Maori.
By removing Maori from the context they are trying to put Maori on an “equal footing” with all New Zealanders; they are riding the idea that Maori have special rights and privileges above that of the average New Zealander. Obviously this is bullshit but it’s effective rhetoric and there’s a grain of truth to in that the extent of Maori rights hadn’t been clearly defined due to the ongoing nature of the process. So this has got a lot of people with a poor grasp of the issues very upset and baying for change.
There is a hui (meeting) being held today for all the iwi to begin discussions of how Maori will respond to this. New Zealand politics isn’t very interesting usually, but our progress on indigenous rights, until now, has been absolutely ahead of the field. If you care about indigenous rights globally, you should care about this, because in the same way Australia’s referendum loss has spurred on this action, the loss of rights here will spur other right wing governments to be similarly bold to their own indigenous groups.
Indigenous rights in New Zealand are under attack. They are meeting today to discuss it, and New Zealand will be listening, but I want the world to be listening. Because our government needs the shame of being called out by more than just the people who they’ve already decided don’t vote for them.
Maori have a long and proud history of fighting for their rights, and they’ll do it again here. And I’ll be on the pickets beside them, but there’ll be plenty of my own pickets to attend, because this government is radical in every sense of the word.
So please, even if you’re very far away, stand behind them in this. Keep your eyes on us. Amplify their voices. Don’t let the racism drown them out.
The sun god baby bug wins, fire kills grass lizard, ice metal hedgehog, spider, and ducklet is trash easily beaten with grass and electric moves and Pikachu is more fragile than glass and has no resistances against it. Also bitch please that gun is metal and loses to fire and it’s bug, double death.
Please do not let debt collectors play in your face.

If the EU manages to get this implemented, it could really improve quality of life for everyone not just those living in the EU.
A very important reminder that the Buffalo Genocide was a very real thing that happened and not just a shock factor thing. Bison fur was sought after and their tongues were considered a delicacy by the colonizers.
But they also knew they were a main source of food for plains indigenous people. Plains Indigenous tribes would follow the herds over the year to be able to hunt when needed. Bison were quickly hunted to near extinction so that natives would be forced to depend on the colonizers for food and aid.
After the children were taken and forced into residential schools that were intended to "Kill the indian save the man." They cut our hair, made it illegal to speak out languages, made us catholic and kept the children at these "schools". Any surviving adults were sold into slavery and put into Ghettos. Many of which we still live on. Babies were sold as property. For a long while killing and keeping native scalps, yes their scalps, was done for sport some generals buying them for money.
This was one of many reasons on top of disease that nearly wiped us all out. The last residential school closed in 1997 the year I was born. My parents and grandparents all attended them. Bodies of children that were killed in the schools are still being found and we'll never really know how many there were.
I say all of this because the amount of people that aren't taught this is horrifying. Natives are treated like mystical story pieces or like we simply don't exist anymore. It couldn't be further from the truth.
If you take anything from this film please start by being educated since most of the land you stand on was taken. Your home, school, job. Everything around you exists because of this.
Only just now in 2022 are indigenous actors and media finally starting to get taken seriously. Our stories are finally mattering and not just dismissed. We're finally allowed to create our own worlds and stories that people actually like. It's so important that if you like these stories you get educated. You listen and donate. Share. Educate. Speak up for us when other white people try to silence us. Give reparations and actively try to unlearn your stigmas.
I'm so happy this film exists because I finally feel pride in a native role and like people are finally maybe going to listen.
Here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna take 4 russet potatoes. You're gonna peel them and dice them. You're gonna set them in a bowl of cold water so they don't oxidize. Then you're gonna cook a half pound of bacon until crispy and set it aside. You're gonna melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a dutch oven. No more, no less. Add some diced onion and garlic to that. Saute it for a couple minutes. Then you're gonna add 4 tablespoons of flour and make a roux. You're gonna add 3 cups of milk to the roux. Slowly. Don't get in a hurry. Then add 3 cups of chicken stock. Add plenty of salt and pepper. Bring it to a boil. Add your potatoes in. Let that simmer for 20 minutes. Then you're gonna add some sour cream, the chopped up bacon from earlier, and some grated cheddar. You're gonna stir that together for 5 minutes. And then garnish it with a little green onion and shredded cheddar. You got it?
