It tickles me that Elias seems infinitely more approachable than Lena, like if I needed the afternoon off for a doctor's appointment I know who I'd rather be asking even if he is a eldritch all-seeing murder manager who says terrifying things like "my door is always open".

I know he’s kind of a polarizing character, but I have to say, Elias Bouchard truly is Iconic. When you hear the twist of “the boring middle manager was actually secretly an evil eldritch monster the whole time!” you sort of assume that the boring middle manager persona was just a facade, but no, he really does seem to just enjoy dull administrative work. He’s both exactly as boring as he seems on the surface and profoundly fucked up in ways you couldn’t imagine. He’s practically omniscient and playing 4-D chess with everyone, but he responds to even slight hiccups in his elaborate scheme with acts of extreme violence. He beats an old man to death with a metal pipe and when someone brings it up later he goes, “Yeah I may have overreacted there.” His employees are constantly trying to murder him. He broke out of prison just so he could give a dramatic monologue. He had a weird gay thing going on with seemingly every man he met in the past 200 years. He loves scheduling.

Elias Bouchard is my favorite character from The Magnus Archives, but not by choice. I tried so hard to hate him, but that man is a parasite in my brain. He's just so silly and unapologetically evil, no tragic backstory or anything, the guy is just like that, and I love him for it.

If I was one of Bill’s henchmaniacs, I would’ve posted stuff like this and then get my spine removed by Bill

Ai "art" in any form makes me sick to my stomach and worse, instead of worrying about thefts that I can scare off with a big watermark, I have to worry about some freak feeding my art to the soulless AI hive.

I assume this is how voice actors feel about AI too, helpless and angry.

Helpless because there is barely anything we can do to stop anything we can do to stop it.

Angry that others are so soulless to take our hard work and feed it to a machine that could our jobs and our passion away so a robot could do it for free. I hate AI more than anything I hate anything else.

Yeah, it's a fucking garbage state of affairs but, as a somewhat well-known performer with a pretty distinctive voice it doesn't exactly shock me. Needless to say I think anyone who used this is a mediocre waste of skin and if they ever tell me in person they've used it then 50/50 I punch them in the teeth.

I can't wait for a couple of years when it all collapses just like every other niche-but-interesting-technology-with-limited-use-cases-sold-as-a-universal-panacea-to-gormless-CEOs grift (blockchain being the best example). Because the thing is, none of these things actually make any money and cost a vast amount, so as soon as all the dumb venture capital funding dries up and AI is required to actually start paying for itself, the bubble bursts and the whole industry is fucked.

That said, it's gonna be rough when it happens - a lot of companies have invested very heavily in AI and they're going to be hurting badly. I know of more than one media company whose idiot executives invested ridiculous amounts into NFTs and ended up laying off massive swathes of workers when that obvious fucking scam collapsed. I suspect the AI crash is gonna be even worse than that. And by then it will have drowned the Internet in slop. We'll see, I guess.

Anyway, anyone who uses AI is a soulless fucking husk of a person who cannot tell half-digested vomit from culture, and I would pity them if they weren't making the world such a measurably worse place to exist.
