Have you ever encountered the Animated Knots website/app? It's great for learning knots/referencing if you need a quick reminder

oh neat, that's very good for learning. Some day I will use the non-trick way to tie a sheepshank.

I do like to know my knots offhand: in my scout troop to get certified in a basic knot you had to be able to tie it blindfolded, behind your back, and at speed (independently) and that is a pretty reasonable set of goals.
