sorry maybe one day ill stop being mad about how the anime adapted the confession arc but today is not the day because im stuck thinking about how much of a blunder it was not to include this page

because like. to me this was the thing that defined my reading of this arc. this was the moment that made me go "oh, this isn't mob unconsciously doing this, this is someone else"

so then when you read through the rest of it you share mob's frustration. why are all these people treating this thing like it's mob? this isn't mob. this is some dangerous entity puppeting his body and hurting people! mob would never do this!

-yoo fuckass, progaymer and live streamer extrordinaire with an undeniable crush on the only non-romanceable character in the rpg "Ways to Survive in a Demon War", the tutorial mage who teaches the protagonist magic. So when he wakes up one morning to find out he is now the second prince, the protagonist of the new dlc he had just purchased (because this one had promised the namless tutorial mage's route) his goal isnt to find a way back home but to instead romance the shit out of our poor kdj.

-kdj regretting the fact that he hadnt kept a closer eye on the storyboarding for tutorial mage's route on the dlc because holy shit these scenes with the second prince are getting kinda riske.(not that he minds, he did push his favorite streamer that he totally didnt have a crush on as reference for the 2nd Prince)

-yjh getting away with not knowing everything he needs to know about his new life ( hes a transmigrator) due to insane charisma stats and his rbf

-kdj being completely fine and comfortable with his life becuz he didnt have anything back there for him anyway and he already died in that world ( hes a reincarnator)

Another Theory Pt.2

Not sure if this theory or headcannon about secret life already exists but here it is.

Since the Taskmaster is a varient or a job set by the high council of Watchers to a Watch as a job, they are conscious and give deliberate tasks to the competitors. These tasks were chosen to either play with the competitors' mind, alliances, etc which would inturn benefit or impact them.

So with this in mind, the tasks given to scar which forced him to play an antangonistic role in the games were a punishment intended for Grian for his "disobedience" against the Watchers. Through Third Life and the following Life Games, it was shown to the Watchers that Grian deeply cared for Scar. Doing what he thought was best for him by either pushing him away to protect him. And through Scar's villanous tasks, they (the Watchers,) intended to hurt Grian through Scar as said punishment.
