i had a dream that i was in adventure time and i was looking after simon because he was in this like depressive episode and he was asleep on my couch and then he woke up and said he needed a distraction and for some reason in this scenario my backstory was literally that i survived by being frozen like captain america and then finn and jake found me and the only tv show i had was the full box set of sex and the city so we started watching it and im so close to making a fic based on it because it was such an experience

i think they would’ve let simon crash for some time after the series finale only to be faced with the devastating consequences of that decision

so runs my dream, but what am i?

Did a small comic about the lich because I like what they did with him in the show.

And I though, that this episode made farmworld lich even more interesting, because unlike Jerry, this lich decided to not merely destroy life in a single universe, but to destroy all life in every single universe possible. And I think that if he knew that that lich became a tetris block, rather than feel instulted it would only make him more motivated to fufill his mission.

It’s actually Extremely Hilarious that, like, every Wish that Prismo grants has some sort of ‘Monkey’s Paw’ deal going on and usually you can kinda see, like, the Cosmic Forces of Magic Wish Irony twisting and reinterpreting the Wish to make sure it backfires on the Wisher in some way....

Like, when Finn tried to Wish that the Lich never existed, the Wish decided to prevent the creation of the Lich in a way that also basically prevented the creation of the world Finn was fighting to save in the first place and generally took away the life of adventure Finn loves so much and that’s before stuff started to get Really Bad in Farmworld

And Then it hit the pedantic ‘well, you Wished the Lich never existed, that doesn’t mean he won’t exist in the future’!

Same goes with Wyatt. Even without Prismo taking ‘I wish it was quiet enough to think!’ as a valid Wish - taking it to mean a whole horrifying Silent-Era cartoon universe where he’s tied to the railroad track was a total twist on Wyatt's intention created to make sure he gets as much Suffering out of his Wish as possible. 

Babyworld was said by Word of God to be BMO’s Wish. He probably just wanted everyone to be adorable babies and then it backfired by making her into a Baby Toy rather than anything sapient or independent enough to enjoy the cuteness around him.

But then there’s the Lich’s Wish. 

And he got… exactly what he Wished for and exactly what he wanted. There were no technicalities or wild misinterpretations of his intentions or pedantic twist. The Lich’s Wish worked out exactly how he intended it to. It was exactly the goal he was working towards for all these centuries. 

But it still backfired on him because turns out his life-long goal actually sucked and always did.

About the holographic model of the cosmos. The holographic model of the mind. The natural laws as a kind of operating system for reality. The implications of miracles in such a context; what nature of being undermines the code.

Living Ideas. Gods that cannot die, because they were never alive, but are like Life, living as a signal in the air, a song or a story; a pattern of lights, the printed page, the phone; Viruses in the Operating System of Civilization. Self-propagating, mutating, evolving.

I dunno. I can’t find the right words to express it. But. There’s a. Pattern. There’s a signal in the static. I can hear it, but I can’t pick the notes apart. But. There’s an Insight, wedged into the crack. There’s something True lodged in there.

Meeting the right people in the wrong time, unfortunately. It happens a lot, that's just how life is. They were happy together as a couple, but they had flaws and they couldn't learn from them and grow as people. Things could have been better, according to Betty. But there are no regrets.

I think it was a beautiful moment because it's true things can always be better once you realize your mistakes and have a happier outcome for the two of them, but that doesn't mean they were miserable. That's just how we learn things. And they learned they had different points of view and their own flaws, which made the relationship not as equal as they thought.

In Adventure Time, we see Betty finally realizing her own mistake, all the things she has done for Simon, she had to neglect her own needs. No one forced her to do that, it was her own decision. Simon was repeating Betty's mistakes in Fionna and Cake, he became obsessed with the idea of having her back. And I think Betty making Simon realize his flaw was cute.

She didn't hate him, she never blamed him, because she understood it was just an honest mistake and he didn't realize until he had to choose between two options in the book he was reading with Beth.

The book itself is a nice metaphor about life choices, there are no do-overs, choices aren't inherently good or bad, but you have to face the consequences later on, maybe you dislike the lack of options to choose from if you aren't careful. Beth said it clear, maybe if Simon paid attention to Nova (Betty's representation) and not only Casper (Simon's representation), things would have been different and he could have had more choices.

But now he cannot hold onto the past. He needs to live, and not for Betty's sake. She didn't want that when she finally managed to undo the crown's wish. Betty wanted to do that because she felt like it wasn't ok leaving Simon cursed.

The bus scene is so powerful, because it shows you the better outcome for the two of them (but maybe not for characters Simon finds later on like Marceline), but he knows it didn't happen like that and there are no do-overs. That's when Betty says her last words, showing no regret and gratitude to Simon for being in her life. Simon doesn't get on the bus, they don't share the same objectives anymore, and they have to take different paths. It was a beautiful goodbye. Some people make us happy when they appear in our lives, but they aren't meant to be in our lives forever.
