Then, the 13th century (mwahaha) , the Philippines joined the Yuan Dynasty's maritime trade network, linking China with Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.

Chinese traders settled in the Philippines during this time.

In the 16th century, the Spanish ruled the Philippines for over 300 years (writhing in pain at the thought of it...) . Chinese people kept coming to the Philippines as traders and workers, but there were conflicts with the Spanish.
