It was Washington, DC Sakura Matsuri weekend and brother was it hot! Had to ditch the lined kimono and break out an unlined, tsumugi kimono with large woven flowers. 🌸 Paired it with an olive-green han-eri and heko obi. The charm is a stuffed chirman bunny. 🐰
Just a trivia note. The plaid on that jacket belongs to my Clan Hamilton. 😄 🏴💙
Kyo and Yuma on the street in Harajuku wearing vintage fashion along with items by Garb (Kyo’s giant hornet necklace), Hiro, Jieda, Carpe Diem, George Cox, and Donnybrook. Full Looks
I just love K9s so much that I can’t seem to get enough of them during the Year of the Dog. 😆 I was even born in a YOD. Here is a kobukusa by famous weaver Kitamura Tak Shinsaibashi with adorable dogs creating piles of puppies. I’ve had this awhile and have been waiting for a chance to break it out!
Breaking out my puppy dog 🐶 chawan / tea bowl that has a cute little illustration of a dog that reminds me of my fluff ball, Miss Calhoun.
My New Years matcha just arrived from Japan with a cute little graphic for the Year of the Dog. It is wakamatsu-no-mukashi which is one of my favorite teas from Ippodo Tea. They have stores in Kyoto, Tokyo, and New York. Can’t wait to have a bowl. 🐶🍵💕

Yukiwa / snow crystal kimono, cute snowman obidome and my new Tatsumura Textile hanhaba obi! I was so excited to get a chance to wear the obi. Love the pine needle pattern and it tied like a dream. 🌲❄️👘⛄️😊 @tatsumura2
Cooking for the first time in kimono. 😁 Hubby was going to cook breakfast for me after I dressed for our Kimono de Jack DC outing. I got dressed and he woke up with a painful ankle. So here I am heading into the kitchen…🍳
Happy New Year! 🎉✨🐔💕 I love his cranky face. I call it my angry chicken tea bowl. Like he was disgruntled that someone dare to paint his portrait. Lol
Merry Christmas to all our fur-friends and friends around the world! 🌲⛄️💕✨ #rottweiler #rott

Interesting kimono at the Baltimore Museum of Art’s exhibit “Kimono and Obi: Romantic Echos from Japan’s Golden Age.” It was commissioned by an American man for his wife for their vow renewal. The Japanese artisan couldn’t create a traditional wedding kimono as the woman was already married. And felt that a kurotomesode worn by married relatives of the bride would be wrong as well. So this was his artistic solution. #weddingkimono #wafuku #kimono #kimonolife #yuzen #kurotomesode
