Wait a minute.
If visions are basically Celestia keeping an eye on people that might one day ascend to be gods/ become threaths to Celestia.
Then now that the Hydro Archon is no more and Neuvillette is the one giving visions, does that mean he can watch over all hydro users??
Now all I can think of is Neuvillette acting as Furina's guardian angel. Hurt her and a literal dragon descends from the skies to beat you up!
Also Albert is FINALLY getting arrested!!

One time when I worked at the Dollar Tree a man came in with a little boy and he said to me, “This is my adopted son. He’s autistic.”
He told me this story. “When he got to be about 4 years old his mother realized he was growing up autistic and she didn’t want to raise him any more. So she drove out to the middle of nowhere and pulled over on the side of the highway and put him out of the car. On her way back in to town she was driving behind a van with a two story ladder tied on top. The ladder got loose and slid through her windshield, killing her instantly. They found her head in the backseat.”
I was like 😶 “your total is 13.95”
lmao so im completely shameless and a sucker for physical intimacy so ive been thinkin abt darling just having childe or kaeya sit on the floor while theyre in a chair and them just. slinging their legs over his shoulders as they do other work ?? they meant it as a friendly gesture to make him happy but also he might b drooling when they gently press their thighs against his head -💉
Slight NS_FT
No, because this ask has completely rotted my brain… Kaeya and Childe are such prevs they’d turn the most innocent of actions into fantasy material… little gross men </3
Warnings: Yandere, GN! reader, God! reader, talks of religion, obsessive behavior/mindset, mentions of murder/death (by thighs/legs), perv! Childe, perv! Kaeya, masochistic tendencies? (especially on Childe’s part), implied sub!character x dom!reader dynamics,
The rest of the ask is under the read more!
You’d only called for Kaeya’s assistance since Lisa wasn’t around to help you like she normally would; you were in the library just looking for some books to pass time – being under constant surveillance by some of the most protective people in Teyvat often led to your activities being restricted for your “safety”.
He’d been more than happy to drop what he was doing (which honestly was him preparing to go bother Diluc for the afternoon) to come to your aid. He’d teased you a bit, joking about how much you needed him - probably to try and distract from the obvious blush in his face the longer he spent time with you - but eventually helped you find some books about Teyvat’s mythology and history, both subjects that has greatly interested you since long before arriving.
He insists you read yourself, saying something amongst the lines of “I’m too tired, but if you want - I’m more than happy to listen to you reading it for me” though you’re inclined to believe he simply wanted the chance to silently stare at you, a guess that came from the fact that current that was exactly what he was doing.
You found it weird that he didn’t seem to sit down, opting to stand tall and proud beside you, you’d insisted he take the seat beside you but he refused - that is, until you gesture to one of the pillows on the ground, one that found itself laying just between your legs and the plush chair your rested upon.
“Why don’t you sit there if you’ve got such a problem with chairs?” It was partially a joke, you didn’t think he’d rather sit on the ground than an actual chair, and a last ditch attempt to have him sit down somewhere (because heaven knows how much it stressed you out to see him just standing there on the side, didn’t his feet hurt? Wasn’t his back tired? He’d been there unmoving for at least half an hour), you didn’t think he’d silently take the seat beneath your own and sweetly smile up at you.
“Probably the best seat in the house,” he muses, looking around between your legs as his eye twinkled with admiration while he stared at your shocked expression, “come on, you invited me over - don’t tell me you didn’t mean it?”
“Haha, very funny, Sir Kaeya.” You roll your eyes, hiding your face into the book - hoping the cover would be enough to hide the embarrassed look in your face - it’s not your fault he makes you flustered.
He simply laughs, finding your newfound embarrassment amusing, and lets his head hit the edge of the cushioned seat almost touching your skin, as if afraid of defiling you with his touch - “I’m not bothering you, am I?” He asks, his eyes closed, realizing he might be taking too much space for your legs to properly rest.
“Hmm, not really,” you think, your legs were a bit cramped up from earlier, you look down upon the man sitting beneath you, “but it’s fixable.”
You test the waters and let your legs rest upon his shoulders before simply letting them drape over his upper body - he doesn’t react much, simply stiffening at the contact before slowly relaxing - “You don’t mind, do you?” You tease, ready to move your legs in case he asks you to.
“N-not at all.” He coughs into his hand and it’s your turn to be amused at his sudden shyness; did you hear it right? Had Kaeya, the Kaeya Alberich, just stuttered? You go to remove your legs, shocked at the realization, but his hands shoot up to grasp at your thighs; “Don’t! I… I mean, you don’t have to, I’m fine… unless you want to, then it’s… fine too.”
You smile slightly, but opt not to tease him too much - not when you feel him hesitantly lay his cheeks against your skin, caressing your legs with such tenderness you struggle to believe this is the same man who’d slaughtered hundreds of his people, your eyes visibly saddened at the idea.
What a troubled soul, you muse while letting your body limp against him, you remember all you’d heard about his past and lore and your heart aches and so you make a promise to yourself to try and spend more time with him.
If only you knew, that while you worried and pondered over his past - the Cavalry Captain was all but drooling over the way your legs squeezed his cheeks. You would be surprised at how hard it was to contain the moan itching to rise from his throat when he felt your legs first find his body, if he could - he’d turn around and kiss your feet, let his hands wander your sacred skin while he proclaimed how grateful he was for you and your love, but he didn’t want to ruin such a peaceful moment. All you had to do was squeeze your legs and decide to restrict his airflow with your thighs and he’d be a goner, dead - no longer alive, but he didn’t mind at all - he’d rather die at your hands (legs) than die any other way, he wants to laugh at the thought.
His heart was beating a thousand miles an hour, he could hardly contain the excitement crawling all over his body the longer his skin touched yours. It felt electrifying, a buzz stronger than even Dawn’s Winery’s finest alcohol couldn’t compare to. If anyone looked at him, they’d think he was edging himself just by the lewd look that took over his handsome features.
For now, he’d keep these thoughts to himself - simply hoping you’d been so kind as to help him later with his little problem, courtesy of your unknown effects on the Khaenri’ahn.
….
Your time in Liyue was coming to an end, you’d soon be embarking on the Crux to visit the Raiden Shogun and her region, Inazuma, which meant the last few days had been hectic as Zhongli and other residents of Liyue attempted to make the most of your time there before you left.
You’d managed to sneak off and find yourself some time, your head was pounding and your legs ache after hours of nonstop walking, you had originally meant for it to be just yourself - a well deserved break after the last torturous days - but it doesn’t take long for the Snezhnayan diplomat, Ajax, to find you - much to your… in reality, you were too sleepy and tired to try and feel annoyed or irritated.
“Ended up running away, huh?” He laughs, making his way towards you - your figure was almost completely hidden by an oversized blanket in the cushioned chair you laid upon, “You should be more careful, you almost had Lady Ningguang send out a search party for you.”
“Mmhm?” You groan, you vaguely acknowledge his words - your body was exhausted and your mind felt like soft putty; you just wanted to sleep and not wake up for the following week or two.
“They really ran you out…” He muses, a pitiful look takes over his face as he assesses your fatigued state, “Care to make some room?”
He originally meant for you to scoot over so he could cuddle you, it was basically a death wish - if Xiao or Scaramouche found him snuggled up to your sleeping he would probably end up dead and floating in the shore of Liyue Harbor by dawn, but it seems like your position is too comfortable or you’re just too sleepy to properly consider better options and instead, you part your legs and nudge him over to sit on the floor between them.
“‘ere.” You lazily motion, before flopping your head against the plush chair once more.
He can’t even tease you, his face is red at the implications - did you have no idea how… how perverted you were making him feel? He knew you probably had no secondary or lewd intentions but you couldn’t just do that and expect him to be okay! Still - he isn’t complaining, he’d dreamed of being in between your legs (in all ways imaginable) for embarrassingly long (to the point he’s sure if Zhongli knew he’d be banned from Liyue), and he only stumbles slightly on his feet as he makes his way to lean between your legs.
“Better than any pillow Mora could buy,” he groans, letting his cheeks meet your thighs, he looks up at your face - you looked so cute, sleepy and yawning, “so nice and kind, letting me rest like this… you’ll make them jealous, you know?”
His fingers trail your skin, taking note of how delicate it felt against his worn out gloves.
You don’t acknowledge his words, your journey into unconsciousness must have been swift, only tightening your grip on his cheeks in your slumber.
“… !” He feels more blood rush to his cheeks, his eyes involuntarily roll back at the feeling of your skin on his as your legs apply a pleasurable amount of pressure against his face - fuck, he wished Zhongli would walk in, so he could rub it in his face.
His hands go to rest on your legs, almost as if begging you to stay there or squeeze him tighter - kill him, he truly wouldn’t mind going like this, but it seems he was too careless and you’re startled awake by his sudden and rough touch.
“A-Ajax? …! Are you okay I didn’t -!”
“Of course not,” he breathes, trying to hide how much he enjoyed the location and situation he found himself in, “you should rest, I’ll keep watch so they don’t bother you.”
“But don’t you want a pillow or to move somewhere more comfortable?” You ask, afraid you’d hurt him and slightly embarrassed at the predicament.
“No, it’s okay,” he laughs, never once parting his cheeks from your thighs “if you don’t mind.”
“Not at all,” you reassure, thinking for a second before smiling down at him, “t-thank you for keeping an eye out.”
“Now, don’t worry and rest,” he smiles, patting your legs and you take it as a sign to head back to sleep - you’d need to make the most of any shut eye you could get in the next couple of hours, “to help you like this… is my pleasure.”
And it really is.
MY GOD WHAT HAVE I FOUND XD
I'm not sorry for having you know this exists XD

This is my own lil take/idea on the Triad AU by @skittlescripts - Basically you don’t have a double life in my version but are the reincarnation of his love. Just cuz I can only write what my interest chooses to sit on, and it apparently didn’t sit well with the by day/nightlife concept hfdngfhdngfd- So it ended up with picking a different path in my head. :’D
Smol doodle drawn by me with my persona cuz it fits more than a random Wukong screenshot. c:
♡ ~ Fluff ~ ♡
Today was a pretty chill day for your workplace. You did have customers come in, but it wasn’t as many as usual. Assuming people were simply busy themselves today, you didn’t think much of it. Well, that was until one of your co-workers told you about how your boss seemed to have gotten into some trouble with a member of the local triad. Something along the lines of her having gotten into an argument over keeping the restaurant on their king’s turf. But apparently it was a lower member, so he ended up threatening to get a higher-up. And customers who received the news were wary about eating there for a while.
Nothing happened however, so it seemed more like an empty threat from your boss’s point of view.
And yet due to what you heard, you were a little bit on edge yourself. Mainly about the potential shut down of the restaurant, making you essentially jobless once more. And you actually did enjoy your job here.
You were the one who designed the restaurant aesthetically, making it feel more welcoming for those afraid of the organization lurking everywhere. And since the restaurant was in a rather shady part of Megapolis, it stood out quite a long. You were also in charge of making to-go packages look nicely. Aluminum animals were littered around the windows for show of your abilities in the crafts of origami and general design.
And it did garner a lot of attention because most passerby found it really cute. Even customers’ children sometimes asked if they could make their own little animals with your assistance. But your skills did not make you famous or really be seen. You were quite invisible to the public eye, always sitting quietly in a corner or in the back of the restaurant. In fact, you were so invisible that the two powerful demons that came in later that day didn’t notice you folding up another delivery for someone who ordered for pick-up. The customer specifically asked for a fox as a little gift for one of his family members. You yourself were so occupied by your artistic piece and playlist’s music that you didn’t notice them coming in either.
The demons were talking to your co-worker and were ‘kindly’ asking for your boss. And of course, your co-worker, terrified as she was, jogged towards the back to get your boss.
“Ugh, why does everyone keep on picking this part of the city for their business?” The monkey with an eye patch questioned while scrolling through his phone, thoroughly bored. He knew this 'talk’ wouldn’t take long, so why was he demanded to join in the first place?
The other simian leaning against the counter huffed, “Well, they simply don’t learn this area is off-limits. I don’t even see any reason to keep this restaurant here anyway. We can just scare off every customer if we go the non-violent route.” He quickly flipped through the menu, or rather looked at solely the pictures. “Even the food here looks mediocre at best. Killing the people here plus the business would actually be a blessing.”
“At least the decoration’s nice. I mean, look at this cat!” The black-furred one commented, holding up a miniature kitten made out of aluminum foil he found by the counter.
“Hm, true”, the other one admitted. His eyes then glanced around the room’s decor… until his eyes landed on you.
You, who made The Great Sage instantly freeze in shock.
You, who was sitting lonely in the corner of the empty restaurant.
You… who looked like an exact replica of his long lost lover, just with different clothing.
His one and only beloved, who managed to tame this beast of a feral demon… until they died to another demon’s talons. It caused the Monkey King to snap and make sure this demon would no longer serve as a reminder of what happened. The environment wasn’t safe from the encounter either. Unfortunately, he was unable to bring you back, and he had no way of knowing if you would ever be able to reincarnate. But it seems he finally had found you after so many years. And you were the one behind the creation of the only good thing about this restaurant.
The monkey stared at you for so long that his eyes started to dilate and his tail started to slowly swish from side to side. His lips curled into a soft smile as he witnessed your happiness with your work. His friend seemed to notice and followed his gaze.
Ah. Now he understood.
He smirked at his superior’s lovestruck expression. Until your co-worker returned, trailing behind your boss, who suddenly seemed a lot more anxious than ever before. The two monkeys gazes snapped back at the two women behind the counter. One monkey seemed amused while the other seemed to have been caught off-guard.
“Yeah, so, we came here because one of my men noticed your restaurant and you were not willing to leave our turf. And we came to settle what he didn’t manage to do”, the black-furred one stated nonchalantly, his gaze lingering back onto his phone, seemingly searching for something specific.
“Oh Great Sage Equal To Heaven! I beg of you! Please don’t kill us!” Your boss pleaded, lowering her head and putting her hands together.
The Great Sage’s eyes then glanced back over to you, still vibing to your music and smiling at your crafty little work. You just finished another smaller fox as extra, and he couldn’t help but find it absolutely adorable. He then looked back at your boss with a smirk. “You know what? Nevermind, you get to keep your lives and your business.”
Confused, yet still frightened, your boss asked him what made him change his mind.
“Simple. You got one amazing and absolutely stunning crafty person working here. Would be a shame if anything happened to your or this business while they still work here~”, he answered as his eyes traveled back over to your corner. Your boss glanced between him and you repeatedly before laughing in what one could only describe as a mix of relief and confusion… or concern.
“W-Well, they are a great person, indeed! I assigned them to this task specifically because they don’t want to be seen or have to talk to customers. So we- …huh?” Your boss stopped, watching helplessly as The Great Sage Equal To Heaven approached your seat with his hands in his pockets. Both her and your co-worker were silently praying for your life.
You were still busy with another aluminum animal, when you suddenly felt someone’s presence drawing closer. You finally looked up when the person was hovering over you. “Um… may I help you, sir?” You asked as you took off your headphones. What you didn’t expect was that the person was a monkey with fancy-looking clothing. He was blushing a little but you were too confused to notice. Apparently you didn’t recognize him. He saw it as mostly a blessing because he didn’t want the reincarnation of his beloved to fear him. The way you were so casual towards him was what drew him into your past life’s relationship in the first place.
“Oh, I just saw your fascinating little crafts and wanted to say you- I-I mean, they look lovely!” He stammered out nervously. You blinked at him before leaning over the table to grab a little aluminum monkey you made before. It wasn’t quite as accurate as the birds you’ve created, but it was still recognizable. You then held up the mini monkey in front of him with a smile.
“Would you like to have this one? It’s not great by any means, I’m… still practicing monkeys. I-I hope it doesn’t look offensive, otherwise I could-” “It’s perfect…” He cut you off, gently taking the animal made out of foil. He would hate himself if he accidentally damaged it in any way with his strength. His claws barely brushed over the softness of your hands, but it was enough to make him feel the tingling sensation you imprinted on him. The Great Sage then gave you a loving smile and a nod in appreciation, “Thank you…”
While the two of you were chatting away about your masterpieces, laughing when certain jokes were made, your boss and co-worker were baffled. They wouldn’t have believed it if the scene wasn’t playing out right in front of their eyes. The Sun Wukong, Great Sage Equal To Haven, leader of the most feared triad, and immortal Monkey King… was casually talking to a practically invisible stranger without threatening them even once. Or even making them feel uncomfortable.
Were you so oblivious to the fact that you were speaking to a man who could not only kill you, but also destroy everything around you without even trying?
Well, it wasn’t so much about being oblivious than it was just about being a decent person. You’ve heard of the triad, and you’ve heard rumors of the infamous Monkey King. However, that doesn’t mean you would necessarily have to treat him any different to any other customer since you didn’t know him personally. You’ve never even seen the guy until now. And by his looks, you could easily assume it was him.
Meanwhile Macaque seemed amused by the situation. Something only he seemed to have noticed was Wukong’s tail wagging happily. Its movement wasn’t fast, but it still reminded him of a dog who found its long missing owner. So he couldn’t help but take a picture of the scene. It wouldn’t serve so much as blackmail, but it would be enough to calm him down with a picture of you if the other simian started to go off again.
And if that wasn’t enough, he took some extra pictures of specifically you being happy with Wukong.
“So what you’re saying is that if I order food for pick-up or delivery, you would be the one packing it up?” The orange monkey asked, purposefully playing dumb.
“Yeah, unless I’m sick or have a day off. Then one of my co-workers does the packing instead”, you responded, pointing in the counters’ general direction. Your co-worker let out a nervous squeak before hiding behind your boss.
“Great, so I’ll get to see your pretty face a lot more often!” Your face turned a light shade of red at his comment. Too shocked that someone, anyone, let alone The Great Sage would compliment you past your work. He gave you a grin, “It’s decided. You can expect me to order food at least once a day.”
You blinked in absolute confusion, meanwhile your co-workers were dumbfounded. “Eh?”
“Well, it was nice talking to a stunning and demon-friendly person such as yourself, peaches. But I believe my visitation time’s up for today. I hope you’re back here tomorrow though.” He winked at you at the end, making your blush darken just a bit that he could still notice.
“And don’t worry about your business, boss lady”, he added as he turned towards the counter with a smirk. “So long as your amazing artist’s working here, this restaurant is under the triad’s protection. Anyone who tries to get rid of it will have to get through me and my men first.” His eyes seemed to darken just a little as his smirk grew into something a bit more sinister. The Monkey King let out a laugh at your co-workers’ scared expressions. The dark-furred simian on the other hand huffed in amusement, showing his own fanged grin to the two women. This seemed to scare them a few steps further away from the counter he was now sitting on.
The orange-furred monkey then pulled out a pen and used a piece of unused foil before writing something down on it. He then slid it over the table towards you, placing his other hand on his hips. “Here, feel free to text or call me anytime. And by anytime, I do mean anytime. Feel free to also contact me when you feel unsafe or just want company! I really wouldn’t mind showing up in person!”
To be honest, it was actually strange for Macaque to see his old friend act this weirdly. He could tell Wukong was trying to sway and seduce you. But due to how he wasn’t trying to do it to manipulate you, and him haven’t genuinely done this in hundreds of years, he kind of lost his touch. The shadow monkey could see him struggling as he was a nervous mess on the inside.
His tail gave away his nervous vibes the most. It kept on moving around, curling in on itself, as well as seemingly trying to hold itself back from just wrapping around you for much needed comfort. You glanced at the info written down on the piece of aluminum before gently smiling at him with a nod. “Will do, thanks! It was nice chatting with you too, Mr. Monkey King.”
“Please, just call me Wukong. 'Mister’ just makes me feel an extra millennium older.”
“But you are old, grandpa!” Macaque exclaimed from across the room, earning him a death glare from his ticked off boss.
“You’re one to talk, emo dinosaur!” The King snapped back. You couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at their childish insults, making the orange-furred monkey slowly turn towards you, his heartbeat seemingly increasing at the sound. He needed to hear your laugh more.
“Anyway, I’ll take this with me,” he stated as he picked up one the menus from the table, “and we’ll be on our way now. See you tomorrow, peaches~” The Great Sage then rather aggressively grabbed the other amused demon by the back of his coat, casually picking him up and carrying him towards the exit, the aluminum monkey still being gently held by his other hand. “Move along Macaque, we don’t have all day.”
“Until next time, (Y/N)!” Macaque called out as he waved at you as best as he could, still being carried away like a kitten.
…How did he know your name? You only told Wukong during your conversation… 'Man, those rumors about the Six-Eared Macaque having incredible hearing must be true if he was able to hear that’, you thought. Little did you know that he already knew your name despite his hearing.
However, from that day on your life’s daily routine changed. Wukong would ask for a different order everyday, testing out everything from the menu to see if it was even worth buying more than one specific order everytime. And any food he didn’t like he would give to MK to try out. His adoptive son was actually pretty fond of the restaurant’s food, to the point where he would either go eat there by himself, with friends or come eat with his dad. Most of the time the triad would only ask to grab pick-up food, but there were days where members would actually eat by the tables. You weren’t sure if they only asked for pick-up as to not scare away any non-triad customers, but it did seem to invite in more people each day.
Wukong would sometimes also stay at the restaurant, specifically eating at the same table as you while you were packing up other peoples’ orders. He started off pretty nervous during your first conversations, but he quickly became a lot more casual with you. Even his flirting attempts became a lot smoother and would easily catch you off-guard, leaving you a blushing mess everytime. Meanwhile you decided to show him how to create his own little army of aluminum animals.
It might take a while to get you to fully fall for him again, but he would do anything to be with you forever. Even if simple little animal crafts would bring you two closer step by step. Reincarnation or not, he loved you until the day he dies…
Which is saying a lot in his case.

And also the way Barbie and Ken are role playing heterosexuality without any inherent sexuality of their own, without any understanding of what it means, or even any genitals at all! Just pretty-girl + handsome-guy = obviously a couple. And the way it fucks them both up! Because they’re both stereotypes, neither of them is a specialist version, no brain surgery or pilots license or Nobel prize for either of them. They’re just assigned the roles of Every Man and Every Woman. And Ken ends up doing Way Too Much because he’s hanging his entire self-worth on being important to Barbie. And Barbie just isn’t interested in him, she was assigned a boyfriend she didn’t ask for and doesn’t want and doesn’t know what to do with, just because that’s what society expects of men and women, that they will necessarily couple up and fall in love because… that’s what they do. Regardless of any personal quality of either party.
It’s about heteronormativity and amatonormativity and the unrealistic expectations society sets boys and girls up for from infancy. Barbie and Ken are every pair of toddlers sharing a sandbox while the adults around them call them each other’s little “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” even though neither party understands or is capable of understanding the implied meaning of that. Or wants to.
It’s a literal funhouse mirror of that weird pressure put on kids to perform heterosexuality from an early age. It examines how that leaves us unprepared for the complicated reality of actual relationships even if it turns out that you are heterosexual and do want sex and romance. Boys and girls aren’t really allowed to be just kids on the same team, so they grow up into men and women who generally want very different things from each other and are trained to look for it in everybody because anybody is better than nobody, and try to force it to work.
Barbie and Ken letting each other go in the end was perfect. Barbie the Every Woman realizing that she doesn’t have to be special, she just has to be, and Ken the Every Man realizing he has to seek validation elsewhere and lean on his fellow Kens for emotional support, WHICH THEY GIVE.
Truly a movie of all time.

An exploration of how the Hashira (+bonus) help you deal with unwanted attention from a neighbour.
Modern!AU!Demon Slayer (and female!reader).
Adult!Hashira (except for Muichiro and Tanjiro and co who are all teens)
Rating: T
Pairings: Nothing explicit but suggestive... (aside from Tengen&wives)
Warning: swearing, some violence/threats, mention of possible stalking (they've been staring at them for a while), slight poisoning, neighbour being a creep, mention of them wanting to watch women make out.Un-beta'd.
Word count: ~ 4800
Notes: Based on true events (mainly the neighbour staring and stopping the reader to confess their feelings). I wasn't planning on writing this in 2nd person pov, but it kept trying to change into it as I wrote, then when I was trying to choose between 2nd and 3rd, my friend chose 2nd and a random wheel picker chose 2nd...so I gave in to the universe. This got long. Enjoy!
Please let me know what you think and if I got the characterizations right. One of my fave lines I've written is in this, see if you can guess lol.
You try to be polite to your neighbours. There’s no need to be rude, even if you’d rather be left alone by them, but you didn’t expect it to lead to this. You know the man has been watching you. You could feel his eyes on you when you were outside and he was on his balcony, but you’ve never said more than a thank you to him for holding open the door for you so you’re not entirely sure how you’re in this mess.
He’s confessing to you. This man that you’ve never officially met until right now, who might actually be younger than you, who is telling you he’s an alcoholic but that he’ll change. For you. How does he think this is appealing? You’re trying to find an exit, you don't want to be completely rude since you live in the same building and you’re likely going to see him again, but you want out. Now.
Sanemi
“Who the fuck is this?”
You let out a breath at the voice, relief setting in deep in your bones. “Sanemi,” you turn with a smile, grateful for his timing.
He’s not looking at you. His eyes are on the man standing in front of you, who’s still trying to reach out to touch you. Again. Sanemi moves, stepping forwards until he’s in front of you, blocking the man from your view. He stares at you for a moment, taking stock of the relief he can practically feel radiating from you. “Are you ready to go?” he asks. You don’t have any plans, but you don’t care. You’ll follow him anywhere right now.
“Yeah. Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“Tch. You should be,” he says. He sounds irritated but you know him better by now.
“Excuse me,” the man behind him interrupts. “We’re in the middle of something.”
You watch as Sanemi’s expression shifts into something slightly murderous as he slowly turns to look at the other man. “Did I fucking ask?” The man steps back and Sanemi takes the motion to move forward, getting into his personal space like he tried to get into yours. “You know him?” Sanemi directs the question to you despite not looking back.
“He lives here.”
“I’m introducing myself,” the man says. “We’ll be friends.”
“Friends?” Sanemi scoffs. “She has enough friends.” He steps forward again, forcing the man back. “You ever make her uncomfortable again or even try to touch her again, I’ll break your fucking hands, got it?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Good. Fucking creep,” Sanemi turns back to you, ignoring him. “Come on.” He waits for you to move, keeping himself between you as he leads you away from the building. “He ever bothers you again, you tell me.”
You grin up at him. “I will. Thank you.”
“You just got lucky I showed up.”
“...why did you come by?”
He doesn’t answer.
Shinobu
“My my, what’s this?”
You turn to look at the voice, relief setting in that at least you won’t have to do this alone. Shinobu doesn’t offer you a hug, but she stands next to you, glancing at the man before looking back at you. “New friend?” Shinobu asks, a light smile on her face.
You know better than to assume that your friend is being polite. “A neighbour,” you confirm, ignoring the flash of anger you catch on the man’s face. Great. Another thing to deal with.
Shinobu hums lightly before she turns to the man. “Is there something you needed?”
The man blatantly looks over her before smiling. “I am introducing myself. Hopefully, we can be friends. All of us.” He is either unaware of the danger the small woman presents or ignores it. Either one marks him as an idiot.
“Oh? Are you incapable of making friends?”
He blinks in surprise and you know he’s unsure whether or not to take offence. Shinobu has a way of saying things in her light voice that most men don’t realize are as cruel as she intends them to be. “What?”
“Are you unable to make friends?” she asks again, smile still in place. “I assume that’s why you’re cornering a woman who’s clearly not interested. It’s a bit pathetic, don’t you think?”
“Pathetic?” he catches the insult and scowls at your friend.
“Yes,” Shinobu nods. “Does that make you angry? There are ways to fix it, that don’t involve my friend.”
“I’m not pathetic! I was–” he’s cut off as he reaches forward. Shinobu’s hand grabs his wrist before he can reach you. He tries to pull back and frowns slightly as her nails scratch him as he pulls away. “I was introducing myself,” he continues.
“Then you’re done and now you can leave,” Shinobu nods. He looks as though he’s going to protest but he sways slightly before blinking rapidly.
“Did you do something?” you ask Shinobu, who looks at you innocently. You know better though.
“Hmm…it might be a reaction to the latest experiment. Perhaps it got on my nails. I’m sorry,” she smiles at the man. “You should be fine with some rest. It’s not nearly enough to be fatal.”
The man pales. “What?”
“You should go,” Shinobu says. “Unless you’re willing to be a test subject. I’m sure no one will miss you if you’ve cornered women before. Perhaps you should be more careful, no?”
The man basically runs from her and you watch as he leaves.
“What was really on your nails?” you ask, looking at Shinobu.
“A mild paralytic. He’ll survive,” she says. “I came to ask if you wanted to join me for dinner?”
“After that? Absolutely.”
Gyomei
Someone calls your name and before you can even turn to look, you see the man in front of you blanch. You know the voice and it’s entertaining to see firsthand how intimidated someone can be by your friend behind you. Especially when you know that he’s the kindest one of you all.
“Are you alright?”
“Gyomei,” you greet warmly. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see if you would join me for the afternoon. Are you busy?”
You look at your neighbour who is still staring at the tall man in shock.
“Oh,” Gyomei says. “My apologies for interrupting.” He turns to the man. “I am Himejima Gyomei.”
Your neighbour introduces himself and you try not to be annoyed at how he’s stepping back now that someone else is here. Especially when it’s another man. “Are you friends?” your neighbour asks.
Gyomei looks down at you. “I am very lucky to have her in my life.” It’s not an answer and you have a feeling he’s done it intentionally. Whatever. You’re not going to complain if it gets you out of this.
You smile up at him. “I think I’m the lucky one,” you say. You mean it too. Gyomei is a calming presence in your life, someone steadfast that you know you can rely on. He rests his hand on your shoulder and you relax under it. You’re safe with him.
He turns back to your neighbour. “Please, continue your conversation. I can wait.”
“No,” your neighbour says. “It’s fine. I didn’t realize…” he trails off before wandering away without saying goodbye.
“Are you alright?” Gyomei asks again.
“Yeah,” you say. “I am now.”
Obanai and Mitsuri (because ofc they're together)
You notice when his gaze shifts from you to something behind you. Then you hear it.
“You’re outside! Did you know we were coming?”
You turn to see Mitsuri heading towards you, Obanai behind her, his eyes already on your neighbour who is staring…at Mitsuri. You turn and move, just enough to block his view. Mitsuri doesn’t have a problem showing off any of her assets, but that doesn’t mean your creep of a neighbour could stare. Ew.
Misturi crashes into you with a hug, as though it’s been years since you’ve last seen each other and not days. You hug back just as tight, grateful for the company.
“What are you doing here?” you ask.
“We came to take you out!” Misturi pulls back and motions towards Obanai. “We missed you!”
You weren’t sure if that was the truth but a quick glance at Obanai shows that he’s moved to stand between you two and your neighbour. He nods toward you and you can’t help but smile back.
“Where are we going?” you ask.
“Dinner,” Obanai says.
“Excuse me!” your neighbour cuts in, moving to the side so that Obanai is no longer blocking him. "Hey, we were talking.”
“Oh!” Mitsuri turns to face him. “I’m sorry!”
Obanai glares at the interruption. “Who are you?”
“Her neighbour. We were just getting introduced.” He gives his name again, this time reaching for Mitsuri’s hand. He does not get far.
“You often touch people without them wanting you to?” Obanai asks, his grip tightening on the man’s wrist. Your neighbour tries to pull back but is unable to.
“He was just introducing himself,” Mitsuri says. “Weren’t you?”
“Of course!” Your neighbour says. “Can’t people be friendly?”
“No.”
You have to hide a smile as Mitsuri giggles at Obanai’s response.
“Go ahead,” Obanai says. “I’d like a word with your neighbour.” He doesn’t look at you, keeping his eyes on the man whose wrist he’s still holding.
“Okay!” Mitsuri grabs your hand and starts pulling you away. “Nice to meet you! Don’t be too rough, Obanai, okay?” Once they’re far enough away, Misturi lets go and looks at you. “Are you alright? You looked uncomfortable.”
“Yeah,” you say, smiling softly. “He came out of nowhere. I’m glad you were there.”
“Don’t worry, Obanai will let him know you’re not interested. Besides, you have us!”
You hug Mitsuri again with one arm. “I do!”
Muichiro
You step back as your neighbour moves forward, reaching for your hand again. Why does he keep trying to touch you?
“I don’t think she likes that,” a voice comes from the side. Both of you look and your face lights up when you see who it is.
“Muichiro! What are you doing here?”
His head tilts slightly as he looks at you. “You said I could come any time.”
You smile slightly as you nod. “You’re right, I did.” The kid was always welcome but it was rare to see him without his twin. “Where’s Yuichiro?”
“He said he’d come later. He thinks he’s figured out a move that will beat me in shogi.”
“Is this your brother?” your neighbour cuts in. He smiles at the younger boy and introduces himself. Muichiro ignores him.
“Are you going out?” he asks. “Can we join you?”
“Yes,” your neighbour adds. “We can walk with you. Get to know each other better.” You recoil from him reaching for you again and step back.
“Not you,” Muichiro cuts in. “You are not invited.”
“What?”
“You’re not invited,” the kid says again. “I don’t think you should touch her anymore. She doesn’t like it.”
“Listen, brat, no one asked you.”
“Hey!” you cut in, scowling. Why was it always easier to defend someone else than it was to defend yourself? “He’s right. You can’t just invite yourself. Thank you, but I’m not interested.”
He reaches for you again but Muichiro knocks him over as the boy moves forward. “She said she’s not interested.” Muichiro stares at the man on the ground for a moment. “You shouldn’t bother women who aren’t interested.” He looks back at you. “Should we call someone?”
“It’s fine,” you say. “Come on, let’s go meet Yuichiro on the way. I’ll buy dinner.” You both leave the man to pick himself up and you silently pray he gets the hint.
Giyu
You almost don't hear your name being called. The lack of reaction doesn’t stop Giyu from moving forward and standing next to you.
You look up at him in relief. “Giyu!”
“I called,” he says. He glances at your neighbour who is watching you. “Are you busy?”
“No,” you shake your head, hoping that he’ll be able to at least get you out of this. Even as hopeless as he was socially, you know that he’ll pick up on your hints. You’ve known each other long enough.
“We’re in the middle of a conversation,” your neighbour says, looking unimpressed that you’re dismissing him.
Giyu looks at him before turning back to you. “Are you hungry? I wanted to talk.”
“Sure!”
“Excuse me,” your neighbour interrupts again.
Giyu gives you an unimpressed look but turns to face him. “Can I help you?”
“You’re interrupting. I was just getting to know your friend.”
Giyu stares at the man for a moment. “I don’t think she wants to know you.”
Your neighbour’s jaw drops. “Who are you to say that?”
“Her friend.” Giyu looks at you again. “Do you want to stay?”
You shake your head slightly, just enough to convey your desire to leave. You might have to never come back. Or maybe you could convince him to move. “Let’s get something to eat.”
“There’s no need to be rude!” your neighbour snaps.
“She’s not rude,” Giyu says. “It was clear she wasn’t interested before. You should pay attention.” You try not to laugh at Giyu of all people pointing out ignoring social cues. You adore him more for it. “Let’s go.”
“Hey!” your neighbour reaches out, aiming for Giyu’s shoulder to stop him from leading you away. He doesn’t make it. Giyu steps to the side, turning as he grabs your neighbour’s hand and directs the motion straight to the ground.
You can’t stop the gasp at the sound of him hitting the ground.
Giyu holds him there for a moment. “Are you done?” he asks. He finally releases him and steps back. “You should keep your hands to yourself.” Giyu looks at you again. “Can we go now?”
“Yeah,” you smile. “We can.”
He offers you his hand to step over your neighbour and leads you away. “If he bothers you again, call us.”
“I will.”
Kyojuro
Someone shouts your name and as soon as you hear it, you calm down. Things are going to be okay. You turn towards the voice and grin. “Kyo!”
“I hoped you were home!” He strides forwards towards the two of you. He looks between you both. “Am I interrupting?”
“No!” you exclaim as your neighbour says “yes.”
Kyojuro looks at you both before he nods. “I see. My apologies regardless.” He smiles at your neighbour and offers his hand. “I am Rengoku Kyojuro. Who are you?”
You watch as your neighbour introduces himself almost warily as if he’s not sure what to make of the situation.
Kyojuro turns to you, stepping closer and smiling down. “Are you free today?”
“Yes.”
“Excellent. Continue your conversation, I will wait.” He crosses his arms over his chest and turns to face your neighbour. The man looks stunned to be pinned by Kyojuro’s gaze. You know the feeling but you wait to see if he’s going to continue to confess under your friend’s stare.
“I uh…” your neighbour glances at Kyojuro again before he looks at you. “As I was saying, I want to know you more! If you don’t like that I drink, I’ll stop.”
You look at Kyojuro whose expression hasn’t changed but you can see the tension in his form. You wouldn’t notice if you didn’t know him like you do. “I heard you,” you say carefully. It’s safer now, you feel, to decline his interest outright with someone else with you. “Thank you, but I’m not interested.”
“You haven’t even given me a chance,” your neighbour says. You don’t want to. “We could just spend time together.”
“No thanks,” you say, shifting closer to Kyojuro without thinking.
Your neighbour steps forward, reaching for your hand again. “I’m not trying–”
“She has made herself clear,” Kyojuro interrupts, his hand on the man’s wrist, preventing him from touching you. “Do not dishonour yourself further and press for her attention.”
“Dishonour? I’m just trying to ask her out!”
“And she refused,” Kyojuro says, still staring at the man. “I fear that if she should accept, the flame of her heart would be drowned by the weight of your desire. I cannot accept that!”
“I didn’t ask you,” your neighbour snarls.
“You did not! But I am here regardless and thankful for it, if only to protect her from your refusal to hear her disinterest. Leave now.”
“You can’t just–”
“I can! I trust that you will not embarrass yourself further. Should I hear that you continue to push or attempt to take advantage, I will not be as forgiving as I am now.”
The man stares at him for a moment before Kyojuro finally lets go. Your neighbour stumbles back slightly. He glares at you both, rubbing at the wrist Kyojuro held before he walks off, heading to the building. Kyojuro watches until the man disappears into the building before he turns to you. “Are you alright?”
You move without really thinking, wrapping your arms around his waist and hugging him tightly. “Thank you.”
He pauses for a moment before he brings his arms around you, holding you against him. “It’s alright,” he says softly. “I am just glad I was able to be here.”
You pull back. “I appreciate the help. What brings you around?”
“I wanted to see you, of course!” He lets go as you move away. “As you are not busy, would you be willing to join me? I have something I wanted to show you!”
“Of course! Let’s go!”
Tengen
An arm drapes itself over your shoulder. If you weren’t familiar with the weight of it, the scent of the man who pulls you into him, you would have recoiled. “What’s this then?”
You look up at the built man who towers over the rest of you. “Tengen! What are you doing here?”
“Came to see you, of course! Who’s this?” Despite the cheerful tone, he doesn’t take his eyes off your neighbour.
“My neighbour,” you say after a moment as you realize the man in question is still looking at Tengen.
“Hm,” Tengen leans down, putting his face next to yours and ignoring your neighbour. “You miss me?” He grins as he asks, eyes on you.
“Didn’t I just see you the other day with the others?” you quip back, used to his flirting.
“Who are you?” the man finally speaks up.
Tengen glances over at him and you can practically see him considering if he wants to deal with the man. He straightens, keeping his arm around you, and grins. “Uzui Tengen! Flashiest man around and the love of her life!”
“You’re not the love of my life,” you say automatically.
“I could be,” Tengen says. He leans down closer again and his voice lowers. “Don’t you want to give us a chance?”
“We’re talking,” your neighbour cuts in again. “In fact, if she’s not interested, it’s all the more reason she should say yes to going out with me.”
“I would think that the she in question should make the choice,” you mutter.
“Why would she date someone as unflashy as you?” Tengen asks, looking unimpressed.
Your neighbour seems taken aback by the question. “What? Why wouldn’t she?”
Tengen makes a point of looking the man up and down. “You have no flair! No flamboyance! In fact, it’s very unflashy of you to keep ignoring her like this while you talk about her, right Angel?”
“Hmm,” you nod in agreement.
Tengen tightens his grip slightly “Do you want to go out with this boring man?” He asks.
“No.”
“There you have it. Now,” Tengen leans towards your neighbour. “In fact, I don’t think you should bother her again and if you do, well…I’ll show you how flashy I can be.”
The man swallows slightly, as though he’s suddenly reminded of Tengen’s size. “Uh sure,” your neighbour says. He glances at you. “Sorry.”
You don’t get a chance to respond because Tengen leads you away, arm still around you and heads towards your building.
“You’re not going out anywhere, are you? Thought we could order in. Unless you want to go out. Karaoke?”
“Are we going to invite the girls?”
He grins at you. “Of course!”
Tengen & his wives!
You hear the squeal first and then Suma crashes into you. You hug the woman back, used to how affectionate she is.
“What are you doing here?” you ask, completely distracted from the situation with your neighbour as you look to see Makio and Hinatsuru heading towards you.
“We missed you!” Suma says, pulling back.
“Will you let her go?” Makio demands, yanking Suma back as they get close. “You’re interrupting!”
“Sorry!” Suma lets go. “I was just excited!”
“It has been a while since we’ve seen you,” Hina agrees. She looks over at your neighbour before turning back to you. “Sorry for interrupting. We hope you don’t mind that we dropped by unannounced.”
“Not at all,” you smile at the three women that now surround you. Makio has shifted, taking point to be in between you all and your neighbour. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“I bet,” Makio says. There’s a brief moment where you all communicate silently with each other. The slight widening of the eyes, the nod and shifting of the shoulders. The way friends have communicated about the people around them for ages without words. It’s enough that the three women are all aware that you’re uncomfortable and are grateful for their help.
“Excuse me.”
They all turn to look at your neighbour who looks delighted at the sudden prospect of more women to interact with. It probably helps that all three of the new ones are gorgeous, well-endowed and wearing low-cut tops.
“What?” Makio asks, unimpressed. Suma shifts slightly to stand closer to you.
“Sorry to interrupt,” he says before introducing himself. The women all stare at the hand he offers but none of them reach to take it. He pauses before finally dropping it, but he steps closer. “We were just getting to know each other,” he says. “Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friends?”
No, you think. You don’t get a chance to answer though because Makio turns her back on the man and faces you again. “Have you eaten?” Makio asks.
“Oh yeah!” Suma grabs your arm and you feel a rush of affection for these women who have shown up and are trying to help. “If you have, we could get dessert!”
“You’re not busy, are you?” Hina asks.
“No,” you shake your head.
“Hey!” your neighbour cuts in again. “There’s no reason to be a bitch. You could have just said you were into girls. I wouldn’t have minded…especially if I can watch.”
Your jaw drops open and you can see the way the others nearly shake with anger. Before any of them can step forward, your attention is drawn behind him as Tengen appears.
“Oh ho! What’s this?” His hand slaps down on your neighbour's shoulder. You can see his grip tighten. “I didn’t just hear you call them something so unflashy, did I?”
“Tengen!” You all call out, your voice tinged with a little more relief. As glad as you are for the company of the girls, you don’t want to subject them to your neighbour more than you have to.
Tengen grins at the four of you before focusing back on the man he’s holding. “Now, what were you saying?”
“What? Nothing!”
“Liar!” Makio snaps.
“He called her a bitch, Tengen,” Hina says softly. She loops her arm around yours on the side that doesn’t have Suma.
“He said he wanted to watch!” Suma adds.
“Oh really?” Tengen’s eyes narrow. “Perhaps you girls should go ahead and I’ll catch up…after I teach this one some manners.”
“Good,” Makio nods.
“We’ll let you know where we decide to go,” Hina says softly. “Come on.” The girls usher you away from the building where Tengen is still keeping your neighbour in place. The man looks slightly terrified now but Tengen waves you all off with a grin.
“I’m so glad you’re okay!” Suma exclaims, still keeping her arm around yours as they walk.
“Yeah,” Makio agrees. “How long has that creep been bothering you?”
“He’s been staring for a while but just came out of nowhere today, telling me he liked me and wanted to go out. He said he’s an alcoholic but would stop for me.” You see the look the women give each other.
“Maybe you should stay with us,” Hina suggests. “Just for a bit.”
“Yeah!”
You laugh slightly. “I don’t know. I’ll have to go home eventually, right? I’m sure he got the point.”
An arm wraps around your shoulder as Tengen appears, inserting himself between you and Suma. He laughs as you both adjust to the new position. “He sure did!” He towers over all of you but Tengen has never felt threatening. At least not to you. “He won’t be bothering you anymore. And if he’s still staring, call us. We’ll deal with him,” he promises.
You smile up at him. “Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank us,” Hinatsuru says softly. “We’re happy to help.”
“Yeah!” Makio adds. “He’s lucky Tengen showed up before I got to him.”
“I don’t know about that…” Tengen says, “but I know I am with such flashy girls!”
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke
The man is holding your hand in a light grip that tightens as you try to pull away. You’re trying not to be rude but his hand is clammy and you never wanted to be touched. You have a feeling you’re going to have to snap and then deal with the repercussions later.
Your attention shifts to the sound of feet hitting the pavement and a familiar voice calling your name. You yank your hand from your neighbour before turning and moving back, managing to avoid Inosuke’s attempt at a tackle. You shift and watch as Zenitsu falls, his attempts to hug you failing. You’re used to these kids and at this point, it’s a game when you meet.
Zenitsu whines at your avoidance.
“Haha!” Inosuke slides to a stop and turns back to you. “You won’t avoid me again!”
“Stop tackling her!”
You ignore Zenitsu and Inosuke as they start arguing and turn to Tanjiro and Nezuko as they stop next to you. “What are you all doing here?”
“I hope you don’t mind,” Tanjiro says softly. “We were passing by and saw you. We thought we’d stop and say hi. I tried to get them to stop from running at you. Sorry.”
“It’s fine,” you wave him off. “I’m glad to see you.” Nezuko moves forward and offers a hug and you hug back, noticing the way Tanjiro moves between you and your neighbour. Your gaze softens. He’s such a good kid. They all are.
“It’s been awhile,” Tanjiro agrees.
“Excuse me,” your neighbour cuts in, moving around Tanjiro. “Didn’t realize you were so popular with children. Are you related?”
“No,” you say, not willing to give more than that.
“Who are you?” Inosuke shoves himself between you and your neighbour. You can see the man trying to move around the kid, but Inosuke has a way of making himself known. “Fight me!” he demands.
“What? I’m not going to fight a kid.” Your neighbour looks for you but you let go of Nezuko who raises her eyebrows, silently asking if you’re okay.
You nod back, smiling at the girl.
“You think you’ll beat me?” Inosuke says. “You couldn’t touch me. I’m the greatest!”
“Who is that?” Zenitsu asks quietly, coming up to your side now that Inosuke is distracted. “Do you know him?”
“He’s my neighbour,” you say. “He was just…introducing himself.” You wince as you say it.
“You didn’t seem comfortable. Do you want to leave?” Tanjiro asks, focused on you as Inosuke drags your neighbour to more open space in his demands to fight. “We can walk you to where you’re going. Or inside,” he offers.
“Thanks.” You smile in relief, even if they’re just kids, you’re grateful you’re no longer alone.
“Fuck off!” All of your attention turns to the sound of your neighbour yelling at Inosuke. “You freak!”
“Excuse me?” You move around the children, striding towards your neighbour. To hell with being polite. “What did you just say?” He turns to you, surprise crossing his features as though he’s forgotten you were there.
“I–I was just–”
“Just what?” You snap. “He’s a kid and you’re swearing at him?”
“He’s not leaving me alone! I’m trying to talk to you!”
“I don’t want to talk!” You stride forward, aware of the eyes on you. “I haven’t shown the slightest interest and you kept pushing and trying to touch me!” His eyes widen but you don’t stop. “They’re fifteen! And they have more sense and observation than you do. You don’t treat people like that, even if they’re annoying and you don’t keep pushing your attention on to someone who doesn’t want it!”
“I’m sorry,” he reaches for you again.
“Fuck off!” you use his own words against him. “Come on, Inosuke, don’t waste your time fighting him. You’d likely win in seconds. Let’s go.” You turn and walk back toward the others.
“You’re so cool!” Zenitsu cheers as you return.
“That was impressive,” Tanjiro agrees. “Hopefully he’ll listen.”
“If he doesn’t, I’ll come back and show him how weak he is!”
You smile at Inosuke and reach out to ruffle his hair. He ducks out of the way. “Thanks. Come on, let’s get out of here. You guys want to walk me to my friends?”
“Yeah!”
“Let’s go!”
“I’m going to get there first!”
“What!? Wait for us!”
