“Are you gonna pout the rest of the night, Tough Guy?” Sallie May teases from the doorway of the living room.Â
“I am not pouting,” Moxxie says, but even he has a hard time believing himself. It doesn’t help at all that he crosses his arms over his chest and lets himself sink down on the couch just a little more.Â
“Uh huh, sure,” Sallie May snorts, walking over toward him. She drops down to squat nearby, pressing her elbows into her knees and her cheeks to her knuckles. “I’d say it ain’t your fault you got your ass kicked, but it kinda is.” She grins at him cheekily.Â
Moxxie turns a glare toward her. “If you’re trying to make me feel better, I assure you it isn’t working.”Â
“Oh! I wasn’t,” she says with a chuckle.Â
“Lovely,” Moxxie sighs, running one hand over his face. “Then if you’re done bothering me – ”
“I ain’t,” Sallie May says, and when Moxxie looks at her again she’s grinning just a little sharper. Suddenly she reaches out, roughly punching his knee. Whether or not he may have been hurting after the games didn’t seem to matter to her.Â
