YES the Thunderbolts have a fantastic team as family dynamic, yes they are living in Avengers tower, yes history is repeating itself and 2012 tower fics are so back. BUT!

instead of "Alexei eating poptarts" or "Yelena in the vents", we must come up with new headcanons and make history

Bob always does normal domestic chores, often getting in the way of important missions and spy business. "All I'm saying is Bucky is our best sniper" "It would be a much quieter assassination if I just slipped into the condo and cut his—" "Hey sorry guys, anyone have laundry? I'm doing a load"

Yelena and her guinea pig always eat meals together at the dining table. Everyone has their Chinese food or barbeque, meanwhile the rodent is loudly munching on a salad right beside them

Bucky is the mom and always keeps them on track. "Ava you have a dentist appointment in the morning, and bring Bob so they can add him to the insurance. Lena how was therapy? Alexei, I said no vodka until dinner"

Alexei is always coming up with new promotional ideas for the team. Cartoon tv show, cereal, toothpaste flavour...every day he thinks he's come up with the next big thing. Whenever they actually get put into production (Wheaties) he collects and saves it, and won't let anyone use a different product. (He threw out Yelena's frosted flakes and it took both Bucky and John to get her to stop attacking him)

Ava likes to phase and sneak attack her teammates at random. She claims it's for training but really she just thinks it's funny hearing them scream

John gets blamed for everything, even if it isn't his fault. Especially if it isn't his fault: "who ate the last bagel?" "John." "Where's my hair straightener?" "John had it." "Whose turn is it to unload the dishwasher?" "Johnnnn"

nobody asked for this post BUT has anybody talked about the beautiful metaphor of all the call and response choreography in the Wicked movie??? how the dancing shows the influence that characters have over each other. cuz im about to.

okay okay look at this. everybody at shiz copies Galinda during "what is this feeling"

okay standard expected yeah but THEN we get to "dancing through life" (AKA everybody's horny for Jonathan Bailey) and Fiyero has to "corrupt his fellow classmates"

WATCH them follow along! watch them LEARN the dance as his influence spreads over them. BUT not just them! because for the first time in her life, Galinda is NOT the center of attention. she's nor in command of the crowd and she JOINS IT. SHE JOINS THE CROWD.

now of course she eventually finds her way to the center, she finds a place of influence in the dance because that's who she is. When Glinda isn't in control, she joins the influence to take control of it.

but you know who isn't dancing? you know who's the one person refusing that call? of course you do you watched the movie too.

and yes. I know, those of us that are familiar with musical theater probably already saw all of this. but shhhh this is fun to talk about anyways. AND we're getting to the fun part. that's right... it's the

now THIS is what's special about the call and response aspect of the choreography. THIS is the part that makes all of us cry whether or not we consciously realize it.

because whereas Glinda is able to FIND her place of control in the influence, Elphaba doesn't have that ability. she's NEVER had that. she can't join a crowd because she's different and she sticks out no matter what.

Elphaba has to do her own thing. She always has to go it alone. that's why this dance is so strange and so beautiful!! because it's so uniquely her! and THATS why the call and response motif of the choreography makes this moment so sad. because it's not just Elphie not caring what anyone thinks.

it's a desperate call for anyone, ANYONE to respond to her.

And Galinda sees her. FINALLY, a response. finally, Elphaba has broken through that wall. for the first time in her life, she's reached out a hand, and someone else took it.

and i just think that's beautiful. 🥺

one aspect of the narnia films i feel like we don't talk about enough is they're funny too. they're so well written because they're incredibly earnest and heartfelt and brutally sad at times, but they also know just when to drop a funny line to catch you off guard and make you laugh. some of my fav moments:

My Anidala Headcanons

I wanted to do some Anidala Headcanons cause they are my OTP!!! So here we go!

1: Who spends almost all their money on the other?

Anakin spends all his allowance from Obi Wan on Padme.

2: Who sleeps in the other’s lap?

Both. Depends on who is more tired.

3: Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on some clothes?

Anakin loves showing off his six-pack and Padme’s more cautious about making it look like they are not a couple. 

4: Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway?

Anakin, that’s canon.

5: Which one tries to make food for the other but burns it all by accident and which one tells them that it’s okay and makes them both cookies?

Anakin is too much of a hazard to have in the kitchen, Padme cooks. 

6: Which one reads OTP prompts and says “Oh that’s us!” and which one goes “Eh, not really”?

Anakin ships him and Padme sooo much and will point to any romantic literature and be like that’s us and Padme is just like not really.

7: Which one constantly wears the other’s clothes?

Padme puts on Anakin’s robes and makes fun of him by saying his cringey pick up lines.

8: Which one spends all day running errands and which one says “You remembered [thing], right?”

Padme is both of these she will run errands all day and the one time she asks Anakin to do anything he forgets to.

9: Which one drives the car and which one gives them directions?

Anakin drives and Padme gives directions.

10: Which one does the posing while the other one draws?

Padme would pose reluctantly and Anakin would spend hours drawing her and it will just look like a nice stick figure. So he would beg Padme to draw him and she would only take 20 and it would be a masterpiece. 

11: If they were about to rob a museum, which one does backflips through lasers and which one is strolling behind with a bag of chips?

Anakin of course backflips and Padme just got stuck being there.  

12: Which one of your OTP overdoes it on the alcohol and which one makes the other stop drinking?

Anakin would have the drinking problem and Padme would stop him.

13: Which one likes to surprise the other with a lot of small random gifts?

Anakin, that is what he spends his allowance on.

14: Which one keeps accidentally using the other’s last name instead of their own?

Anakin.

15: Which one screams about the spider and which one brings the spider outside?

Anakin only because Padme doesn’t want to deal with it but if he wasn’t around she could deal with it. 

16: Which one gives the other their jacket?

Anakin always. 

17: Who keeps getting threatened by the other’s overprotective older sibling?

Padme’s sister Sola, she is just like you maybe cute but if you hurt my sister I will kill you. 

18: Who’s the first one to admit they have feelings for the other?

Anakin. 

19: How good would your OTP be at parenting?

Padme is the parent focused on the kids having a good education, doing their chores and eating well, but is pretty trusting of them and lets them go out with friends. Anakin likes to hang out with his kids and be the fun dad, but when it comes to them hanging out with friends he’s super strict and wants them to be at home and is less trusting. 

20: Which one types with perfect grammar and which one types using numbers as letters?

Padme has perfect grammar, Anakin types with numbers and letters. 

21: Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?

Anakin protects Padme, its fucking cannon.

22: Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?

Anakin makes bad puns obviously, just look at his flirting. 

23: Who comes home from work to see that the other one bought a puppy?

Anakin would definitely get a puppy and Padme would be like when are we ever home to take care of it.

24: Which one gives the other a piggyback ride when they’re tired?

Anakin.

25: Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?

Padme is out in the senate debating really well, while Anakin is there wishing he could say “that’s my wife!!”

26: Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?

Anakin has a whole photo album.

27: Which one would give the other a makeover if they asked?

Padme would give Anakin a makeover.

28: Which one owns a pet that the other is absolutely terrified of?

Neither, they don’t have time for pets.

29: Which one holds the umbrella over both of them when it rains?

Anakin.

30: If your OTP went on vacation, where would they go and what would they do? Who would take the pictures?

Anakin would always want to go to Naboo in the lake country since that is where their relationship blossomed and Padme is like the Lake Country? Again??

Star Wars College AU Headcanons - Prequel Edition (+ Ahsoka)

Anakin 1. Is a scholarship student, and is determined to make the faculty regret that decision, by wearing pyjamas to each and every lecture (that he bothers to attend). 2. Never studies for exams, but somehow always aces them. 3. Diet consists entirely of take-out and Red Bull (sometimes protein shakes if he’s feeling healthy). 4. Part of at least three school sports teams and a dedicated gym lad. 5. Watches true crime documentaries until 3 in the morning and then can’t sleep. 6. The only one who can drive. 7. Only drinks the most obnoxiously sugary and neon-coloured alcopops. 8. Volunteers at the local homeless shelter and takes it surprisingly seriously. 9. Applies for extensions after assignments are due because he’s “just really going through it right now”. 10. Hacks into the school computers to change all the backgrounds to Nicholas Cage on April Fool’s Day (and secretly gives all the final year students free printing credit). Padme 1. Has an immaculate stationary collection including a perfect rainbow of pastel highlighters. 2. Always does the extra reading, and sets up study groups to discuss the course and swap notes. 3. Spends her entire allowance on a pair of Gucci shoes and lives on ramen for the rest of the month. 4. Sorority sister who knows almost everyone on campus, and somehow remembers everyone’s birthday, including the cleaners. 5. Has about eight photos on her Instagram with her posing on a staircase with a glass of prosecco. 6. Hosts a weekly Stitch-And-Bitch where students can come and have some snacks and tea and talk about how they’re feeling whilst knitting; Obi-Wan is a big fan.  7. Student Council representative who goes to every meeting with a binder full of collected grievances. 8. Has a study blog where she shares her technique for getting perfect grades, and her impeccable skincare routine. 9. Plans political protests with Bail and Satine in her spare time. 10. Gets pregnant at the end of her final year but keeps going and brings her newborn twins to graduation to hear her valedictorian speech. Obi-Wan 1. Incredibly frazzled postgraduate; has like 3 jobs + teaching assistant duties + his course work. 2. Dresses like a professor even though he’s still a student – tweed jacket with elbow patches, leather satchel and shoes, sweater vests in every colour of the rainbow. 3. Drinks “tea” but half of the time it’s just whiskey in a travel mug (the other half is when Qui-Gon buys him some fancy brew from the campus café). 4. Somehow always has perfect hair.   5. Spends hours in the library but never seems to find what he’s looking for. 6. Submits his assignments five minutes before they’re due because he was up all night proof-reading someone else’s. 7. Is a vegetarian for “ethical reasons” (aka because of Satine and Qui-Gon) but ends up stress eating chicken nuggets with Anakin biweekly. 8. Is in the club at 3am and the student council meeting at 8am, looking none the worse for wear. 9. Walks around in a blanket/dressing gown during finals week, mumbling to himself and reading flashcards. 10. Halfway through term you realise he’s been doing a double major this entire time. Ahsoka 1. Only wears gym clothes, even in the dead of winter. 2. Makes notes in gel pen then gets annoyed when they smudge. 3. Will argue with the obnoxious smart kid for half the class. 4. Has the coolest collection of colourful hijabs and wears them with pride. 5. Owns fifteen water bottles but keeps losing them. 6. Gets tattoos because she’s bored but the work always looks super beautiful. 7. Works part time as a barista so knows everyone’s coffee order but no-one’s name. 8. Kisses her girlfriend in front of homophobic professors. 9. Makes box brownies whenever her friends are sad and brings them to study sessions in the little flimsy cardboard box. 10. Is best friends with the campus cat and takes photos with it every time she sees it. Qui-Gon 1. The Dad Professor who everyone comes to when they’re worried.   2. Incredible teacher but his academic papers are just… incomprehensible.   3. Takes students outside for classes that turn into walking tours of the campus where he points out all the foliage and local features. 4. Doesn’t reply to emails because it’s “bad for the environment” so will just appear behind you with answers to your question. 5. Accent will send you to sleep if you have an early/late lecture. 6. Has eighteen pot plants all over his office and sometimes carries a little cactus in his pocket. 7. Office is up four flights of stairs and at the very end of the corridor because he “likes the view” (i.e. the rest of the department are sick of his shit and need the space). 8. Owns the campus cat and it comes with him to and from home by curling up in the little basket on the front of his bicycle. 9. Has about fifteen boxes of tea just around his office and a biscuit tin that’s always full. 10. Is the local weed dealer on the dl.

Anakin and Padme Modern AU Headcanons [Does this one have a happier ending?]

The modern AU ends nicer because I want it to. Andbecause there’s no Jedi and no slavery and no Force.

they meet at college

Padme is the political science major from a rich, respected family that’s hoping for a career in politics and is involved in all sorts of activity at the college

Anakin is the engineering major from the bad part of town who only got in through a stipendia and also works a lot to support his mother

they don’t really get each other at first

then Padme organizes a rally against a law that would push down the minimum wage

Anakin, who through his mother has always been very aware of social justice problems, and has seen his mother work at minimum wage joins in

he makes multpile wry suggestions as to how to maybe make it more accesible for people who don’t study at college

Padme is very confused and also a bit pissed about this, because really, it’s supposed to be college rally

Anakin points out that the people who will suffer most if the minimum wage is pushed down are those who couldn’t go to college in the first place

Padme is suitably ashamed of herself, though she does her best not to show it

they end up organizing the rally together

it’s a huge success

Shmi comes, too, and Padme is really, really impressed by this lady who raised her son alone and also seems to have raised half the village she’s from, and also knows a ton about politics

afterwards, Anakin and Padme kinda become the go to duo for social justice rallys and things

Anakin ropes in that professor he’s known forever, Professor Kenobi, quite often

(Padme is never quite sure how Anakin met Professor Kenobi, they tell a different story every time)

Anakin developes a crush on her like, immediately

Padme doesn’t really

she’s convinced that she does not have time for dating

it’s only after like, a year that she realizes that for all intents and purposes, she and Anakin behave like a couple. He even brings her flowers sometimes!

she mentions it the next time they see each other

he just grins and asks if that means he’s allowed to kiss her

and well, that’s that

they have long, passionate discussions of social inequality and such things

Padme is an idealist, Anakin rather cynical

he never quite gets over his distrust in the governmental authorities

not in the conspiracy theorist way, but in the “they don’t care about the poorer people” way

it’s not like he’s that wrong, really

Padme’s family does not approve of Anakin. At all

Shmi likes Padme, though

Luke and Leia are still kinda an accident, born a year after Padme graduated and while Anakin is still in college

they get a shotgun wedding after that

"Keep going."

"Hold on, hold on," You mutter, "My friend's texting me."

Anakin releases a displeased grunt into the fabric of your shirt, and you feel it where it lands warm in your lap.

"Easy," You tap away at the screen of your datapad, pecking letter by letter at what is shaping up to be a lengthy paragraph, "I thought they taught patience at the temple, Jedi Knight. I'll go back to playing with your hair as soon as I'm done."

Anakin grunts again, louder this time.

You don't dignify his dramatics with a response, and you continue typing, the lingering warmth of Anakin's hair fading from your fingertips. He lets you get half of a sentence more in before you feel an invisible tug at your hand, and it relocates itself against Anakin's scalp instead of where you'd placed it on your pad.

"Anakin!" You scoff, "Did you just force my hand back into your hair?"

He lets out a muffled chuckle into your sleep shirt, "Force."

"You are absolutely insufferable," You grumble, but you indulge him with the scrape of your nails against his scalp. It sends a shiver down his spine, and he burrows his face further into your stomach.

"You sound like Obi-Wan," He muses, "I've heard insufferable, incorrigible, reckless, untamable, unmanageable-"

"Unshushable," You add, still making a valiant effort at typing one-handed rather than returning your second hand to its rightful place among Anakin's barely-curled scruff, "Do you ever stop talking?"

"You love the sound of my voice," He accuses, peering up at you with squinted, tired eyes, "That's why you make me read to you at night."

"No, I make you read to me at night because the last thing you read was a users' manual for a landspeeder, and you barely even skimmed that," You scratch against the crown of his head and he groans, "I worry about your literary habits."

"I worry about your hair-playing habits," He reaches out to knock your datapad out of your hand which he drags back into his hair, "Come on, baby, you owe me three books-worth of this."
