Info: coming from an astrology family, Astrid was never really into it and her parents always tried to convince her (also tried to convince her siblings). When she moved to Amity Park, her parents became close friends with Maddie and Jack.
One night, when everyone was in the living room, Astrid decided to go to the lab alone. She accidentally bumped into jars of ectoplasm and it fell down on her, causing her to turn into a half ghost.
Her little brother, Pluto found her and decided to help (he tried to make her laugh. Good job. That definitely worked out.) After finding out she was a halfa, she told Pluto it was between them and no one else's.
It wasn't until she found out that the Fenton's youngest kid, Danny was also a half-ghost. So they're pretty much friends now. That's it.
I have a headcanon for Skulker that he had a child who was a girl and didn't want to spend much time with her because he thought she was "Useless" and won't get anywhere. So one night, he went hunting instead of taking care of her when her mother was going on errands. And this was the night when he died.
Being a ghost, Skulker decided to check on his wife and daughter after his death a few years ago. He found out that his daughter has become a hunter like him which makes him feel guilty about not spending time with her at all when he was alive.

Oh yes, the two of them were quite close when Perry (formerly Petunia) was first born! Perryโs grandma would often come to visit her grandchildren when Perry was young! (noticeably more so than when Timmy was a baby โ ๏ธ)
Unnnnfortunetly after Perry socially transitioned at 8 and changed his name, Mama Comic did NOT take it well, finally showing some of her true colors, despite having PRETENDED to accept her son and daughter in laws identities, she drew the line at them โbrainwashing her granddaughterโ, and actually reacted SO negatively the entire family has been estranged from her for yearsโฆ
Honestly ask-blog era Perry is still kinda messed up about it, and probably will try to change the subject if his grandma is brought up ๐
BUT!! In the future, Perry DOES reconnect with her eventually, once sheโs able to put her personal baises aside for the sake of family ;w;
(Tho Iris AND Timmy still have a grudge against her for not being there for Perry in his childhood lmao)

A bitter reunion with your dad you haven't seen in eighteen years
This au basically happens after "Phantom Planet". Vlad had somehow travelled back to earth and decided to go to Diamond City to live with his father and niece he has never met (Dr. Crygor and Penny). Penny starts to discover that Vlad is a half-ghost after a gadget she made (which says which species someone is) tells her he is. And Dr. Crygor is oblivious of his son's true identity. I have the first chapter on AO3 if you want to check it out.
