For the ones who make you want to wrap them in a blanket and also scream “JUST TALK TO SOMEONE.”
Always looks like they didn’t sleep (because they didn’t)
Talks like they’re about to say something else, but never does
Constantly touches their sleeves/jewelry/lip, like if they’re not holding something, they’ll fall apart
Laughs too easily, but it never quite reaches their eyes
Over-apologizes for things no one noticed
Craves affection but flinches when they get it
Body language = trying to take up as little space as possible
Flashes of unexpected rage, like pressure finally cracking glass
Always says “I’m fine” in a tone that screams “Please ask again”
Cries alone, then wipes their face like it’s a secret

Fun character dynamics: a torrid, dramatic love triangle that is actually a perfectly content poly relationship where everyone involved is having an excellent time being theatrical about it. And everyone in the community around them is 100% used to them and their shit. Like whenever there's a big dramatic thunderstorm outside, someone might look out of the window and go
"Oh won't you look at that. There goes Mr. Jones brawling with his wife's lover again."
"How nice for them. Let me know when they are done with that and start making out."

Important! The Art Scams Have Moved to Tumblr!
This morning, a friend of mine recieved a DM on tumblr praising their fanfiction and offering artwork for a fee. They asked me to look at it, and the wording was suspiciously similar to the art commission scams that have been going around AO3 and ff.net. We also inspected the blog that had sent it; the alleged commission artist had a very blank blog with only one piece of art posted on it. We decided it was likely a scam.
The DM looked like this (I've edited out details about the fic, but yes there were specific details about the fic in the DM):
Anyway. If you get a DM like this, please inspect it carefully. There are many talented artists on tumblr who offer commissions, but as we all know, tumblr is also full of scammers and pornbots. These scams are also going around AO3 and ff.net, as I've said.
just a heeeaaads up that some of these art commission scammers are upgrading their technique
they will now actually take notes of things that really happened in your fic, they make it sound personalised and genuine, but there's a way they talk that feels weirdly artificial, there's always a vague mention of some 'ideas' they have, if it raises your hackles trust those instincts and tread carefully, because ultimately-
they will ALWAYS LEAD YOU TO A SECONDARY LOCATION
suddenly changing up their writing style is a big red flag, wanting to take you off platform to some other site showcasing their 'art' is an even bigger red flag, REAL ARTISTS DO NOT DO THIS
no matter how genuine they sound, trust NOBODY advertising their art in your comment section, trust NOBODY who wants to take you off platform, NEVER go to that secondary location

so my sister's dog is very very wary around new people, barking and circling and hiding behind furniture, and i haven't seen this dog in 3 years since before i transitioned. i.e. i went from futch aunt to bald james flint, so i'm like, ah shit, i'll have to introduce myself to this dog all over again.
so im sitting on the ground very non-threateningly as The Creature is circling with her tail between her legs. and then i remember something the adoption agency told me when i first adopted my blind dog, Loki. they said "talk to him ALL THE TIME!! dogs learn who people are by the way their breath smells! nobody knows that."
so i think. Oh, excellent. and I grab The Creature by the face, pull her toward me, and blow air straight into her nose.
AND IT FUCKING WORKED.
her mouth opened into this big old smile and she immediately started wagging her tail like "oh, it's you! Hi! sorry. something changed, but idk it doesn't matter anymore" and she was an unstoppable cuddle bug aftter that.
anyway psa if you've transitioned and are visiting a dog who you once knew, breathe on their face.

If you use Duolingo, maybe don't anymore? The company is moving to be "AI-first" and is using AI to generate their content. Meaning, AI is now generating your language lessons.
They announced that they were going to use AI for this a while back but now they're annoucing that they're getting rid of the contractors reviewing the AI generated content. So, very soon Duolingo is just going to be AI generated slop that might not even be correct.
For alternatives, I'd recommend checking with your local library. For instance, mine offers Rosetta Stone for free if you have a library card.

I’ve been seeing quite a few phony “wildlife rescue” videos recently, so I just want to put out this quick PSA:
- don’t “save” wild prey animals from predators. just don’t. even if the prey animal is cute. even if the predator is scary or gross.
- if you find a baby deer all on its own, it’s doing fine. deer naturally leave their fawns alone for extended periods of time. leave it alone. mama will come back, and she can take care of baby much better than you can.
- if, however, you find a fawn with heavy, visible open wounds, or if mom has a carcass nearby, then you can call a qualified wildlife rehab center. do NOT bring it into your house and try to raise it yourself
- don’t try and raise ANY wild animals yourself, actually. The only exception I would give would be like, jumping spiders or earthworms
- don’t touch wild animals. not even if they come up to you. not even babies. ESPECIALLY not babies.
- don’t feed wild animals. this can cause them to expect food from humans, which can be disastrous if they don’t get it
In general, just observe wild animals from a respectful distance. That’s it. That’s all you have to do.
