I have nothing much to say today other than I don’t think anybody outside of the marauders fandom understand the literal PAIN and TEARS cause by a few dead gay witches and wizards from the 70s like bro- 💀
EMPHASIS ON THE DEAD PART 😭
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THOSE AT THE BACK
An attitude a lot of Philoise fans hold towards Eloise is that her rejection of marriage is something she needs to ‘mature’ out of. Ask any tomboy, being expected to ‘mature and embrace femininity’ was a very frustrating struggle, and Eloise is being held to the same standard.
So I was wondering why Eloise finding long term love with Theo, even marriage, was not so irritating to me as her marrying Sir Philip would be. And that’s because marrying Theo would be nothing like the marriages she has been raised to expect, and therefore, nothing like the marriages she has been objecting to. There would be no sense of her growing out of her ‘silly, immature rejection of marriage’ and her ‘growing up and settling down’. Her dislike of the life offered to her would be vindicated, instead of dismissed as childish.
Marrying Sir Philip, becoming Lady Crane, settling down in a quiet country estate to raise children, that epitomises the life Eloise has vocally objected to the entire time we’ve known her. The only saving grace is that she would not be expected to attend balls.
But marriage to Theo, it utterly rejects the lifestyle Eloise opposes, and would be nothing like how Eloise has been raised to see marriage. For one, it goes against the concept that a woman should marry a husband to support her. Eloise would not be marrying someone wealthy to keep her in a lavish lifestyle. Marrying Theo, who cannot financially support her, would be declaring that she has no intention of being ‘kept’ or taken care of.
Theo is her equal. Rank and money and gender all play their part to make it not so, but in themselves, in their passions and their fire and their strength of will, they are equal. When we see them together, there is no deference or submission from either side. If Eloise married Theo, he would be her husband, but not her Lord and Master.
And finally, marrying Theo would not mean retiring into the life of a fine lady, hidden away on a estate. It would mean taking her place firmly in the world of social politics that we first saw her venture into last series. Fighting for those causes would become her life.
As I’m still in my all the young dudes phase
Can we just appreciate Remus John lupin and his 15 minutes of fame as the quidditch commentator like that was iconic-
‘Nice one prongs!’
‘Oh bugger, slytherin back in possession!’
‘That’s how you bloody fly!‘
‘OH FU- I mean, FLIPPING HELL!’
‘SHIT, WATCH OUT JAMES!’
‘Get off your arse and referee the sodding match!’
‘Buggering Christ, that was close!’
‘FUCK ME!’
‘WE BLOODY WON! OH, THANK FUCK FOR THAT!’
Not to mention McGonagall was just sat there contemplating an early retirement
Petition for Remus to commentate more often anyone?
I don’t think I’ll ever recover
I have finally read the entire all the young dudes fic and now that I’ve finished I feel empty.
Like what am I supposed to do now?!
Read something else?! Never.
I miss my dead gay wizards

But like, let’s think. If James Potter Jr and Fred Weasley Jr had been best mates, there is no way in hell that they wouldn’t have been carbon copies of their namesakes.
James: * speaking loudly * Oi Frederick! What are we to do for our annual return to school shenanigan?
Fred: * smirking at his friend * Oh I don’t know, Jimmy, we’ll have to think of something amazing!
* The great hall explodes with shrieks of laughter and shock as the house tables begin to fly *
McGonagall: * glares pointedly at the pair of them as she struggles to not fall off of her floating bench *
