A turning point or Azanina talks [3]

Last episode let us enjoy a beautiful dance scene; the “date” with Charioce was nice too. Nevertheless, another scene catches my eyes. The scene that shows some Azazel’s development and get a food for thought about future Azanina relationship. However, let’s I try to speak one at a time.  

Nina suddenly remembered about her crush on a mysterious “arabic” guy (who didn’t even bother her thoughts in episode 5) and got a motivation to buy some food. According Hamsa, she still keeps his ring. Rita mentioned Nina’s blushing from Azazel. Yeah, Azazel again. It’s already the second time as she confirmed our triangle. “The heart is a fickle thing”, — Hamsa said with the creepiest quack I ever heard. This sentence is very predictive and clearly implies the future love drama.

It’s time to give some respect to Azazel. Explaining demons his so-called plan he still said nothing about the red dragon’s personality. Even as Dante tried to figure out some details (pls don’t kill him in the next episode, I like his reasonableness), Azazel decided to keep the secret. Because of his pride though (“who do you think you’re talking to?” — omg, nope, Aza-nii, you forget about your bad luck), but he didn’t break his promise to Nina.

The key scene ofc was in the darkness. Nina made her revenge (we all remember the first episode) running into Azazel. It seems like in this case it was more painful. However, Azazel got used to troubles that happen with him when Nina is around and wasn’t mad at all. Kind-hearted girl worried about Mugaro’s loneliness, but Azazel is here only to give her some instructions.

I want to compare his behavior with second episode. Before Azazel was sure that yelling and shaking are the best way to explain something. He was very impatient, his gaze was supercilious. He roughly touched a girl breaking her personal space. Nina was just a tool for him, that don’t have or better to say shouldn’t have own will or wishes.

Look at this new Azazel. Yeah, he still can’t say such a common things like “please”. His words still sound like orders. His voice was calm though, he didn’t make abrupt movements. Azazel touched Nina again, her face, but this touch looks gentle enough. He understand that she is his trump card, but don’t depend on him. “Promise me that you’ll be there” — do you ask a tool for promise? His face said a lot too. No scorn, the gaze was serious; this “please” was here.    

Because of new crush Nina don’t blush from him anymore. No one from them noticed it. Nina was a little offended because of Azazel’s attitude. She finally started notice that his plans can be bad. A good step too, cause Azazel’s appearance often obstructs her to see his personality.

The next episode might be a catastrophe. A little misunderstanding was always a part of Azanina relationship. Now it’s time for them to run into truth. Will Azazel have a chance to turn Nina into a dragon again? The fact that he don’t make her doki-doki anymore can’t stop him from his rebellion. It could be a conflict between them. Nina will see his dark side too.

However, don’t lose your hopes. I’m sure that Azazel’s falling will be the beginning of his redemption arc. Nina will see the dark side of “Chris” too. It’s a good question why she will be a prisoner with Jeanne. The eighth episode spoilers even show us Azazel’s torture. The suffering touches both. Will they find their happiness? Will see~

A guide on my process for colouring like in the Arcana which I developed through studying the style.

Now, this is just for sprites or for neutral lighting. In the case of most memories/CGs, you have more interesting colours to use, but the process is identical. There are just extra steps.

Using my favourite memories for each character as examples (hopefully, you can tell which ones) you can see this process. All of this happens on layers above the base drawing.

Usually, you set a colour-filled layer to the setting “multiply” over the entire drawing, then using a “screen”, “add”, or “hard light” layer, you add the lighting. Depending on the intensity of the lighting, the outline will be coloured to be lighter.

The shading colour rarely changes, aside from slight hue changes.

Misc advice/tips/tricks below. I may update it depending on if I get further questions.
