This is a legit question and I don’t mean anything bad by it; I’m generally curious why Star Wars is promoted more than Star Trek? I mean I see it advertised everywhere and in retail stores but Star Trek to me is no-where to be seen. ST has been on like 10 years longer than SW so that’s why it confuses me.

Is it because people prefer movies about shooting and destroying things more than “discovering new worlds” or what? I’m generally curious
