The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.

One thing i always find cute in 20th Century Boys is that Yoshitsune tries to keep the Kenji Faction going for when the bigger players (in his eyes) return, but everybody working under him mistakenly call it the Genji Faction (a reference to Minamoto no Yoshitsune) because to them he's the main man. As they should, frankly, Yoshitsune rules!

at first I used to think robin would be the one to notice that luffy n zoro were in luv (platonic and/or romantic but definitely cracked the code before they did) but now that i've known franky for a while it was definitely his empathetic nosy (taking a break from fighting for their lives on thriller bark to ask brook his backstory) ass. bro also LOVES love and reads to far into everything he probably heard luffy tell zoro he'd share his lunch with him and thought 'ok rude no one bothered to tell me they were a couple smh'

I really wanna draw a happy birthdayboy Sanji all smiley and wobbly 💗💗💗 but cant sketch anything new rn and cleaning the comic is much easier, no thoughts, head empty

Anyway, ramble time

I don't have much experience with making comics, the żabka AU one being the one I roughed out first, but it was much less complicated. I dont recall making a serious comic effort before that... I now have a newfound admiration for drawing fight scenes, found it extremely hard lmao Generally I keep second guessing myself, always thinking I should have added more panels to make what's happening more clear, not sure if the flow of it is right. Even though I already moved onto cleaning I still keep making changes to the sketched out panels that were supposed to be final lol I also second guess the plot I'd planned, maybe I didn't think this characterization through enough? What if people dislike it?

But! If I keep tweaking and overthinking it I'll end up never posting it and I don't want that. And if I focus on other people's judgement I won't find joy in making art and I don't want that either.

So here's to sharing art! Regardless of mistakes and doubts 💗

Did you know Studio Ghibli made a film in 2006 based on the young Howl? Many Japanese people believe this character is based on Howl as a youth as seen when Sophie travels through time. The film is called “the Day i bought a star” (Hoshi O Katta Hi) and as we know Howl has had childhood experiences with stars, also being known as ‘the boy who swallowed a star’.

The short film 16 minutes in length was written and directed by Miyazaki and is shown exclusively in Tokyo’s Ghibli Museum and the new Ghibli Park in Aichi prefecture but the story is a partial adaption of book by the same name by Naohisa Inoue (you might recognise art style visuals from the fantasy sequences of Whisper of the Heart also drawn by Inoue).

As you can see from the images above the film also features a magical woman older than Howl (could that be a certain mentor witch? 🤣) and a boy who looks very like Howl who lives on his own in the country side. The film was also Miyazaki’s first project directly after the release of Howl’s Moving Castle in 2004.

I’ll not go into the story except to say it’s a beautiful and mystical ethereal tale that leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions and i hope you all get to see it in the Museum or Park some day! But for any of you reading who are lucky enough to have seen it please comment your thoughts 🥳
