Idk if I can properly put into words why I love cocoapowder so much but I’ll try

It’s really all about Chara’s arc in Undertale Red & Yellow and how by being forced to walk around and interact with Frisk and Clover, they slowly develop a friendship with the two by simply just talking and being themself

Chara did not have a very high opinion of themself, and Chara also isn’t really a fan of stopping to smell the roses. They get upset if Frisk walks off the normal path, and they bring themself down whenever they have the chance to. They feel guilty about what they did to Asriel, and completely unempathetic in the geno run

After failing to free monster kind, Chara is submissive to the whims of Frisk’s decisions and simply just encourages progression no matter the route being taken, because they don’t believe they have the right to agency anymore (until the end of the geno run)

And then you add Clover to the mix. Clover who’s experienced a lot of hurt in their past and chooses to spread love and kindness and affection instead. Clover’s sense of justice comes from meeting aggression with friendship and trying to turn people around to reveal the best sides of themselves. Clover does this with Chara, and they don’t initially get along very well. They’re stuck with each other, however, and they bond a little over having shared experiences in the Underground and comparing them to Frisk’s journey

It’s through the True Pacifist route that Chara realizes something: Clover is better than them. They both sacrificed their souls to free all monsters, but one of them actually proved “useful.” Clover believes in a righteous sense of justice that insists on redemption rather than karma, and Clover is willing to give Frisk another chance even after multiple geno runs. Clover also isn’t afraid to snap back against a bad decision, which is why they stop you at the end of every geno

Clover is insufferably different from Chara, and yet over the course of Frisk’s journey they become friends. Not only that, but Clover feels free to openly flirt with Chara and they don’t bat an eye

And Chara starts to believe it when Clover says they deserve to love themself, and that they deserve to forgive themself, and that no matter what mistakes they’ve made in the past, they’re a good person

I have no doubt in my mind that at the end of the True Pacifist route, Clover wishes Chara could come back too, because they definitely believe Chara deserves to live. It’s so interesting to place Clover and Asriel across from each other at the flower bed. They both knew Chara, one in life and one in death, and yet they both knew two different Charas

Asriel talks about how Chara wasn’t the best person and that he idolized them growing up, but he outright expresses that Chara was a bad friend and that Frisk is their perfect counterpart. Clover refutes this and says that Chara is good, and has always had good intentions. Clover never idolized Chara but saw them for who they were, flaws and all, and admired them anyway

Chara and Clover have deep conversations that Chara never could have with Asriel, because Asriel was just a silly kid who didn’t understand the gravity of their plan. Chara hates themself for that plan, because they realized they shouldn’t have put that burden on a child. What Chara doesn’t realize is they were a child too, one with a foolish dream of saving the world through a noble and just sacrifice

And they see Clover, who did the same thing. A child who sacrificed their existence for a greater cause. Clover didn’t deserve that. But Chara respects their decision. Chara is happy when they come back at the end, and their smile speaks volumes

There’s this deeper connection between Chara and Clover that just makes them perfect for each other. Their opposites-attract dynamic met with their shared experiences, admiration for each other, and witty banter they share throughout. I love Cocoapowder 💕

Okay Undertale community:

Since Undertale Yellow, I have been thinking.

UTY placed itself so firmly in the timeline, with so much to say, so much added to the worldbuilding (in a good way), so many wonderful characters, new locations, ect. that I believe we can make a prequel for each of the SOULs.

The hardest to do will probably be Integrity since their story intertwines so well with Clover's, and we hear about their actions at least twice if not more.

The only thing we gotta be aware of is that Flowey absolutely wouldn't exist before this point. He wouldn't have seen any other humans fall down, since Flowey is a more recent experiment. The Amalgamates, too, are relatively new in the Underground's history. So they might not exist.

If we were to create a prequel for Integrity, it should do something similar to UTY and create new characters, new locations, visit the old locations sparingly, and of course, end somewhere before New Home, since each soul made it a bit further and further than the last one.

The difficulty comes, again, with the fact that we know Integrity killed at least one monster- a child, no less- so doing different routes may be a bit weird. But it shouldn't be too bad; only one route is canon, right?

Maybe.

I'd like to propose a question that I don't have an answer to: Who had the ability to save/load/reset before Flowey did? He was the most determined being in the Underground, so it makes sense he got it, and then it was passed on to Frisk when they showed up, but what about before that? Imagine going up against a monster who isn't as determined as Flowey, but comes close.

The question then remains why that monster didn't stop Integrity from killing. Did that monster know they held that power at all?

I'm not here to propose ideas- that's for the fan game creators to handle. But I am absolutely LIVING for the idea that we could LITERALLY build our own canon.

Imagine a fan game for each of the souls, going in reverse order. We start with Yellow (Clover), then go to Integrity, so on and so forth until we get to Patience. Hell, we might even be able to do a Chara's Origins game after that!

If I knew how to program games, you KNOW I'd be jumping at the chance to do something like this. Since I can't, I'll just cheer y'all on from the sidelines should anyone decide to do this.

I might make an askblog or fan comic based on this, idk. Could be fun fgsdh

i full on believe clover has accidental rizz.

my fella will stumble onto the best pick up lines out of nowhere. they will enamour anybody by just being a genuine, heartfelt person. they will obliviously lead on someone just to wreck them with a “you’re such a good friend!” by the end of what they thought was a date. they’re a serial menace

when chara enters the convo, however? you bet that rizz is turning OFF. clover will right away start to make a fool of themselves, hyper aware of whatever they’re saying and doing. they’re so painfully obvious frisk is cringing by the sidelines. somehow chara doesn’t notice, but you know they’re doing some mental angst gymnastics to try to justify why clover seems so at ease with everybody else but not with them. do you see the vision.

I decided to make a part two to this comic I made some while back.

Not sure if its cannon to Refinedtale, but it does use some of that timelines mechanics so I’m tagging it as such. Do not tag as ship btw.

The “burning bones” concept is one I have yet to draw a proper comic explanation for because I’m still planning it out. Hopefully this hurt/comfort comic is enough to compensate for what I will post next. (-公- ;)

What about Gaster being a dad to papyrus and sans? Like going for a picnic, comforting ect.

I’ve been wanting to use this base forever but could never quite find the right characters to go with it.

Sans; Is very small, fragile, and sleeps a lot. The perfect quiet reading buddy.

Papyrus; Way more durable and hilarious to mess with.

Papyrus has had these strange bouts of forgetfulness ever since he was a baby. They never really meant anything, it was most likely just a slight defect due to a slip up during his creation. But.. after nearly loosing Sans like that in the way he did.. the trauma just stuck with him. Not only did it make these episodes more intense, but it also made them occur more frequently. 

Finally, after that little uh.. hiccup.. I’m getting back into the swing of things. I plan to finally draw something about the whole foresight idea I had a while back soon so stay tuned! :}

Hhhhuhhnngnnnng..I’m never doing a huge project like ever AGAIN!! UHG that took forever. I’m so friggin tired and hungry man, I haven’t moved since I woke up because I was determined to get this out today. Anyway it feels like a weight is being lifted off my chest having this thing done. I’m glad I can return to drawing whatever I want without this project looming over my head.

Also, in case anyone is wondering why it seems like Papyrus is drooling all over the place, see this post, face row 6 for your explanation. :]

Also these poor babies. Why do I do this you might ask? I wish I had an answer man, reeeeeally wish I did. I don’t have much else to say, I cant really think of anything. I guess I could point out that Papyrus is still scratched up because he used up all his energy on healing Sans and Gaster really doesn’t have the magic to spare..

Here’s part one, two, three and four. (They’re all speaking in wingdings :} Its just easier to type it out in English, and i was just too lazy)

Man this one took a long time make! Sorry about that you guys, I’ve been really sucked up into Pokémon Shield recently and have just not had the motivation. (great game btw I totally recommend it) But its here now! And I like how it came out. I hope you all like it too! :]

I’d say my favorite panels to draw were probably either 9, 10 or 17. Those were fun, there’s a lot going on with Papyrus and part 6 (which is the last part btw) will be all about that. Part 6 was actually the part I was looking forward to the most to draw! If that doesn’t hint at anything I don’t know what does!

I don’t know what to really say about this part other than some little details I’d like to point out. In the 9th panel when Papyrus starts to try and heal Sans’s face, a lot of the blue on his face lightens, and anyone touching Papyrus turns slightly green. Just me experimenting with the healing properties.. :}

And poor Papyrus man you know? He’s already tired enough from everything that’s happened, now his magic is just getting sucked out of him from his body trying to heal something that isn’t broken anymore.. My idea is healing someone makes a monster very tired, which is why Sans cant really do it.

Anyway I’ll stop rambling- Part 6/the last part is in the making! I hope you all stay tuned!

(they’re both talking in wingdings. :}) Here’s part one, two and three. Two parts back to back boii!!! And hey! This one only took me two days! not too shabby in my opinion. This was supposed to be posted earlier today but my computer froze to a full stop and then I had errands to run.. but its here now!

Like the last part I tried to be mindful on Sans’s behavior and how he would respond to this. In this comic Sans feels absolutely horrible, but he loves his family to death and seeing Gaster’s face like that just freaked him out. He struggles to get up in the 8th panel, but knows he needs to because something is wrong. In panel 15 Sans is looking at Gaster with this look of fear and concern, but only because Gaster is crying.. he never sees him cry..

Originally, in the third to last panel, Sans was supposed to say something to the effect of, “b-but.. he needs me.. if he’s upset, i gotta see him..” But when I saw what it looked like before the dialogue, I realized it would’ve hit so much harder without it.

Gaster sees his son looking this.. terrified and upset.. Like, what is he doing?? Saying he cant see Papyrus and crap! Sure he’s right and Sans shouldn’t be moving.. but He’s already seen Papyrus like that and it felt terrible not being able to do anything about it. He isn’t about to let that happen with his other son. Sans is crying and wants to see Papyrus, oh he cant walk? Don’t matter if he’s like 13-15, he gonna be carried up those stairs whether he likes it or not.

And in case anyone is wondering about Sans’s multicolored dialogue.. just because Sans is awake, doesn’t mean he’s okay.

(Gaster and Papyrus are speaking in wingdings)  Here’s part one and two.

Legit I’ve been working on this since I got on my computer at 9:00 this morning. I formed a blister from trying to get this done in one day. It felt like it took forever but all in all it was only about 9-10 hours or somethin. 

Anyway! I like how this came out, even if it came out shorter than I imagined it would.. I tried to be mindful on Gasters expressions and how he was going to handle this situation. In panel 6 Gaster wants to continue to hug Papyrus tight to comfort him, but he knows he cant. He needs to talk, he needs information.. In panel 10 you can see the moment where his heart rips in half hearing his poor baby cry like that. However in the next two he composes himself within a few seconds because he knows Papyrus needs support and someone to take the wheel in this situation.

He picks him up and tells him Sans is going to be okay, while at the same time panicking because he doesn’t know if his own words are true. Papyrus has those rings in his eyes saying that he is absolutely freaking out, and then once hes picked up and in the arms of safety.. his eyes go white as he goes into shock over this whole thing. He grips tightly to Gaster coat trying to grasp some sense of relief from this crippling panic.. as he would do to Sans.. He’s scared to even look at Sans, being afraid of turning around and seeing a pile of grey dust in his place..

Its all pretty upsetting.. but things are gonna be okay…er, Hopefully I guess.

Here’s part 1. :} Before anything else, I would like to say that Gaster and Papyrus are speaking in wingdings. The Gaster followers cannot speak Wingdings, but they have known Gaster long enough to recognize a fair amount of the words in that language. They know what he’s saying in the lab and understand that something bad has happened with his kids. I drew the Gaster followers grey because I couldn’t find any drawings or references of what they looked like before the void. Anyway,

Hooo boy, I’m sorry this took so long to come out. I’ve been so obsessed with Pokémon shield recently I just haven’t gotten around to it., But its here! It’s finally here. I would be absolutely willing to make a part three, but I want to warn you all that it might take a while. :/

And uh.. if Gasters greeting when he answers the phone is a bit confusing.. The idea is because Gaster only speaks in Wingdings, nobody ever calls him and only texts. So normally when he gets a call its from Sans, now Sans knows that Gaster is busy and shouldn’t be bothered while he’s at work. So normally Sans only calls if he has an important question or some kind of update.

Whelp, this is the dark comic I was hesitating to make. I’m sure you guys can see why now. Also I didn’t want to go through the effort to correct the dialogue, so just know that they aren’t speaking English, they’re speaking Wing Ding.

I support the theory that Sans is a strange anomaly among monsters and some how, for what ever reason.. he bleeds. No that is not ketchup, and no it is not the same as Human blood, at least it shouldn’t be. No one is 100% certain what the red substance in his bones is, but all they know is its not supposed to be outside of his body.

Papyrus was told to be careful with Sans when he was 7 years old. He has kept that message with him and has tried to be cautious, but sometimes.. accidents just happen. He didn’t mean to hurt Sans, he was just playing around. He wasn’t even playing with Sans, he was climbing around while Sans was off to the side. Things just happen sometimes.

..Horrible, horrible things just.. happen sometimes.. but its not all bad you know? Sometimes it can be fixed.

A funny thing about magical girl media is that folks who are broadly aware of the genre but don't take it in tend to assume Pretty Cure is the most G-rated of the lot, based on the fact that it's got brighter colours, frillier costumes, and generally younger-looking protagonists than average – then you actually watch the fight scenes and those squeaky middle schoolers are doing Bruce Lee shit to the monsters.

A Guide to Faewish Sprite Jobs and Uniforms

I went around the Wishing Woods taking note of what colors corresponded to what jobs, as well as the ornaments on their hoods. This is mostly for personal reference so I know where to find specific types of sprites. Due to the nature of this post there are unavoidable spoilers from Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 of the main story.

In general, the uniforms work like this:

higher ranked (i.e. supervisors) or otherwise unique (i.e. shopkeepers, named NPCs) fairies have the long ribbon-like wings, as well as the large ornament on their hood related to their work

generic fairies within a job have the standard tiny wings but in the same color as their uniform and a small version of the corresponding ornament at the end of their hood

fairies also seem to be allowed to add accessories however they like, a few of my screenshots include some who are wearing extra accessories that are not part of their uniform

For simplicity I will be referring to the two types of uniforms as "supervisor" and "standard". I've also tried to be clear about what things here are my assumptions so hopefully I haven't accidentally missed being clear about anything that is.

I will also mention where I feel I am missing information. This post also does not include the unique jobs like Eltinada's or Dorobo's.

Before we start, for comparison, here are what the general, non-uniformed Faewish Sprites looks like:

Wish Pass Office

Color: black

Ornament: quill feather

Roles: customs, passport issuance

Every interviewer along the Cavern of Wishes uses the supervisor uniform, so presumably you have to be highly ranked to be an interviewer.

The standard Wish Pass fairies are only found along the road immediately after you enter the Wishing Woods. Their main role seems to be inspecting goods and taking inventory of items entering the Woods.

During Chigda's rule, they were instructed to reject all applications for a passport, giving them a fairly lax work environment for that time.

Given we can find Aventura in the Wishing Woods after Giroda is elected, Giroda presumably encouraged them to start earnestly reviewing applications again.

Wish Inspection Center

Color: pink

Ornament: pink heart with a white heart outlined in blue inside for the director, solid pink heart with a broken blue heart on top for bizarre orb supervisor, solid pink heart for everyone else

Roles: handles everything related to all kinds of Wishing Orbs, splits accordingly into departments for Delicious Orbs, Bizarre Orbs, and Desperation Orbs

Note that only Director Boboda has the two toned heart ornament.

The above are wish auditors, sorters, and inspectors found in the Wish Inspection Center. They are responsible for ensuring the Wishing Orb pipeline goes smoothly.

They sort wishes by listening to them and identifying the kind of wish from there, which is a natural ability to all Faewish Sprites. However, with the development of an amplifier by the Wishcraft Lab, they can now do this much faster, while also improving their accuracy.

It seems you have to pass a sorting accuracy test to join this office. The record is 99.9% accuracy, held by current Director Boboda who is also the youngest director in history.

Wishing Orb couriers/transporters also use the supervisor uniform (as seen in the cutscene where they take Afubo's doll).

There's also a unique ornament for supervisors of the Bizarre Orb Hills.

The Desperation Orb Warehouse presumably originally fell under the Wish Inspection Office as well, but was taken over by the Paladins under Chigda's orders. Currently, there are no uniformed supervisors from the Wish Inspection Office on-site.

Due to Wishing Orbs being the Faewish Sprites' primary source of nutrition, the Wish Inspection Center seems to be one of the two largest organizations.

Wish Celebration Center

Color: yellow

Ornament: yellow and orange striped cone hat with confetti ball at the end for supervisors, yellow and white striped cone hat OR a yellow puff ball for everyone else

Roles: coordinating the Coming-of-Age Ceremony, management of confetti cannons, making decorations and gifts, managing and preparing parents for the ceremony

One of the busier areas outside of the Grand Millewish Tree, the Wish Celebration Center is all about the Coming-of-Age Ceremony.

They work with the parents of baby sprites to assist both them and the babies for the ceremony, including helping them choose gifts for their baby and ensuring they have a name and clothes prepared. They provide ready made gifts like balloons and flowers.

They probably work closely with the dye station.

They're also in charge of the confetti cannons we use to launch Momo and Nikki.

Vikda is part of them, but has a unique outfit.

With how important the ceremony is to Faewish Sprite society in general, they are probably the other one of the two largest organizations.

Wishcraft Lab

Color: dark blue

Ornament: light bulb with a four pointed star inside

Roles: all kinds of research, Whimtech development and engineering, equipment maintenance, Wishing Orb study (i.e. studying the properties of Desperation Orbs, developing better methods to handle Bizarre Orbs), Desperation Syndrome study

These guys do a LOT of things and can be found in almost all the other offices as well, usually near equipment. They are in charge of Faewish technology, but also study things related to the mutated vines and Desperation Syndrome.

Many can also be found in the area around the Desperation Orb Warehouse.

Giroda has tasked them with upgrading the electrical system of the entire Wishing Woods within five years.

Research Institute

Since I was kind of confused by this initially, I'm giving this a subsection here. Created by Chigda and Avicinda as a separate office from the Wishcraft Lab, the Research Institute took budget and resources away from the Wishcraft Lab. Publicly, they were stated to be developing Whimtech weapons for the Paladins, but never actually produced anything. In reality, the Research Institute was a prison for human stylists kidnapped by the Paladins. Quick-Wish Bottles were also created here in the process of trying to create a second Aureum Vase.

After Chigda's defeat, fairies who had unwittingly joined the Research Institute have been absorbed into the Wishcraft Lab.

Quick-Flight Firefighters

Color: red

Ornament: splash of water

Roles: firefighting, preparing water balloons, emergency services

They're obviously found at the fire station in the residential area, where they have many water balloons prepared.

Fires were previously more common in the Wishing Woods when the confetti cannons were powered through ignition. Since the switch to compressed air, this doesn't happen as often anymore and the firefighters now mostly work as a general emergency service and also also help out other fairies where they can.

Wish Master's Paladins

Color: orange, may actually be brown

Ornament: feathered plume, supervisors additionally have a metal band with the four pointed star, captain gets a helm with the four pointed star

Roles: Faewish sprite military, bodyguards to the Wish Master, security guards, peacekeeping

Yes, Avicinda's outfit really is yellow compared to the orange/brown of the other Paladins.

Paladins carry wooden swords and use either Whim or some other natural Faewish magic to fight. Most of them can be found around the Grand Millewish Tree, naturally centered at their garrison, but also as guards in key entrances to the different areas of the tree. They are however, also found all over the Wishing Woods, either as guards or patrolling the area.

At the garrison there is also a trio of non-uniformed fairies doing exercises. I assume these are fresh recruits.

Under Chigda and Avicinda's control, they were exceptionally corrupt and abused their power against other Faewish Sprites while also regularly invading the Abandoned District. It would seem no Paladins other than Avicinda were aware of the true purposes of their work, being only given pieces of the truth here and there, just enough to keep them loyal and willing to abuse their power.

Giroda is presently working on reforming them into a better peacekeeping organization.

Temple of Wishes Library

Color: light green

Ornament: dark blue gemstone of some kind

Roles: maintaining the books in the archive, importing new books, Faewish education

As head librarian, Pokobo's coloration is more yellow-green than her colleagues'.

They seem to be far fewer in number compared to other groups.

Under Chigda's rule, the library was completely closed off to the public as part of his efforts to control history.

Giroda reinstated Pokobo after her firing and has allowed the lending of books. He's also allowed her to start importing new literature to improve Faewish Sprites' critical thinking and general education of the world beyond the Wishing Woods.

Delicious Wish Clinic

Color: standard blue

Ornament: bandage patch on side of hood

Roles: doctors, medical staff, treating Desperation Syndrome, assisting the dye station

We saw them in action when the mutated vines attacked the wishball field. Not much to say about them IMO, they're doctors and most of them are found in the clinic, which is one level above the residential area. Desperation Syndrome is their biggest concern but it's not as common as in the past due to the improvements to the Wish Inspection Center. Most of their work comes from young Faewish Sprites.

Interestingly, you can find a lot of them helping at the dye station.

Dye Station

Note: I'm unsure if there is an official name for this one

Color: light blue, close to cyan

Ornament: glimmergrass flower

Roles: conversion of glimmergrass into dyes, bottling and storage of dyes, management of dye inventory, several also work for Timis

There does not seem to be any of them with the supervisor outfit that I could find.

They are mostly found at the dye station, reachable via cannon to the right of the Temple of Wishes (I'm noting this because I always get lost trying to find them).

Most of Timis's Beauty Lab staff appear to also be from this group, so they also probably consist of a lot of designers or are more inclined to be interested in makeup due to the nature of their work.

The dyes are mostly used in preparation of clothes for baby Faewish Sprites for the Coming-of-Age Ceremony.

Medical staff can be found assisting them as well. Maybe because a lot of them left to work for Timis...?

Anglers

Note: there's no official name for this if they are a formal organization/group, so I am going by Gooeybo's shop "Angler's Catch"

Color: light(ish) blue

Ornament: fish fin

Roles: they are fishing!

As far as I could find, Gooeybo is the only angler with the supervisor style outfit, but does not seem to use the coloration.

A few can be found diving in the river beside the Beauty Lab's Waterwheel.

Gardeners or Farmers

Note: this is another one with no official name as far as I've seen and in fact it's not spelled out what they do, but based on the placement of these NPCs and what Bachada sells, I assume they are either of the above

Color: turquoise

Ornament: four pointed star flower with two green leaves for supervisor, two leaves for standard

Roles: appears to largely be in charge of cultivating plants like lampbloms and glimmerglass, harvests sol fruit and stellar fruit, presumably they are the ones who wrap Delicious Orbs in sol fruit leaves

Bachada seems to be the only one with this ornament and the supervisor outfit, but does not use the coloration. I feel like I've seen other NPCs with this ornament, but I'm having trouble finding them.

They can be found in several places, but notably some of them are working in Dorobo's kitchen overseeing the Delicious Orbs and other vegetables.

Ironically, I couldn't find any of them working in the farm that Timis rented.

Minigames

Color: dark orange

Ornament: standard minigame hat

Role: facilitating minigames

Its finally here! The first look into my Amazing Digital Circus AU that I've been cooking up for the past few weeks! :))

The main thing that is obvious here is a lot of the abstracted members are back. Which is all thanks to Caines efforts in keeping the circus members happy and sane! More on that later I imagine- <XD

Personal comments under the cut (mentions of past self harm)

Around 3 years ago I had some anxiety issues, one of the main things that I thought it wasn't self harm for so long was the fact that when something that involved other people went wrong because of a choice of mine (even just minor inconveniences) the pain of guilt was so strong that to turn it down I had to physically sting my skin with my nails. (I play guitar, so I always have a hand with longer nails to play arpeggio). Never it went to the point that it would bleed, but bc of that I thought It was no problem. Thanks to my therapist I know that just because it wasn't the "typical" self harm doesn't mean it wasn't a serious issue.

All of this to say that I might be projecting a little. And honestly I can't even imagine how terrible Wukong might feel everytime the guilt comes back to him...
