i think its rly funny how ppl are acting like squirrelflight is "overrated" when she was one of the most hated/villified characters in the fandom for YEARS and ppl are only just now starting to appreciate her
Edgy oc named Ice. Design can be simplified (still a little older than hope)
Bramblestar = Will Smith
Ashfur = Chris Rock
I wondered when I would get an ask about this
Yeah lol
I got no new art just headcanons 💀
I don’t like Spottedleaf x Firestar. It’s a creepy and horribly developed ship- that didn’t need to exist for NO reason! We only see them interact like twice then suddenly they love each other and this ship is one of the reasons why the aging process is confusing. We see Spottedleaf as a young adult cat- she’s mean to be one of the youngest in the clan besides the kits and apprentices but Bluestar’s Prophecy shows her being older than most of the cats in the clan when Firestar joins. Then the way he acts in front of Sandstorm during Spottedleaf’s death.
I also don’t like Spottedleaf- like she’s literally just there just to be the pretty, flawless love interest for the main character just like Jessie was. I don’t even remember what kind of personality she had? She was just kind of basic and I further dislike her when I read Leafpool’s Wish. She encouraged Leafpool being with Crowfeather in the New Prophecy but in Leafpool’s Wish, she scolds her and calls her a foolish cat for being with Crowfeather.
I’m saying this because I honestly laughed when I read ‘Spottedleaf’s Answer’ because I found it funny how Firestar literally find Spottedleaf in his dream just to friendzone her. I don’t know why I find it so funny; like Firestar shows he never longer loves Spottedleaf then suddenly he is in love with her again during her death scene. I was just like ‘I feel nothing. Good bye, Spottedleaf. Sandstorm x Firestar is better’
I completely agree
i like to think if the books were well written dovewing would recognize sunbeam is in a similar situation she was in with bumblestripe (a tom chasing after her for her affections when it's unrequited on sunbeam's part- at least for now from the excerpt) and have a talk to her about what she wants out of this situation, does she need tigerstar and cloverfoot to step in and send nightheart home, how long has nightheart been claiming to be her mate, etc. like maybe it's too early to say its wishful thinking when the book isn't out yet but god i hope at least ONE cat noticed how uncomfortable sunbeam was with him and asks if she's okay with what's going on and dovewing would be one of the best canidates for that.
A Starless clan protagonist designs (I am bad at backgrounds don’t judge me) Also flamepaw has one red paw from Squirrelflight but you’ll never know
What they don’t understand about birthdays and what they never tell you is that when you’re eleven, you’re also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three and two and one. And when you wake up on your eleventh birthday you expect to feel eleven, but you don’t. You open your eyes and everything’s just like yesterday, only it’s today. And you don’t feel eleven at all. You feel like you’re still ten. And you are—underneath the year that makes you eleven.
Like some days you might say something stupid, and that’s the part of you that’s still ten. Or maybe some days you might need to sit on your mama’s lap because you’re scared, and that’s the part of you that’s five. And maybe one day when you’re all grown up maybe you will need to cry like you’re three, and that’s okay. That’s what I tell Mama when she’s sad and needs to cry. Maybe she’s feeling three.
Because the way you grow old is kind of like an onion or like the rings inside a tree trunk or like my little wooden dolls that fit one inside the other, each year inside the next one. That’s how being eleven years old is.
I’m eleven today. I’m eleven, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one, but I wish I was one hundred and two. I wish I was anything but eleven, because I want today to be far away already, far away like a runaway balloon, like a tiny o in the sky, so tiny-tiny you have to close your eyes to see.
sandra cisneros; eleven
truly i think squirrelflight probably has severe anxiety from both of her relationships w ashfur and brambleclaw…..like We Know This but truthfully i think the fact that she had these two dudes constantly projecting their insecurities onto her and misinterpreting whatever she said to be held against her, and holding her responsible for their shortcomings….i rly think she has a hard time getting closer to new cats esp new toms bc of them
Like Tadpole in the manga was very curious and energetic, I would not put it past him to sneak around just to explore while Sasha is off hunting, and maybe he just accidentally comes near Thunderclan border (idk how is that possible geography-wise, but hey it’s an AU anyway. Maybe he went along the twoleg place or smth, bare with me), and Bramblepaw (I think he should roughly an older apprentice at this point, who is already allowed to hunt on his own) is hunting or smth, and he is just like “wtf?? a kit alone?? where’s your mom?”
They chat a little, Tadpole telling this menacing-looking, but nice stranger about his mom and siblings, and how he just was looking around but got lost a bit and got too far, and Bramble, being the 1st series sweetie he used to be back then, listens and sorta befriends the rogue kit, telling him a bit about clan life as well. He then takes Tadpole home, since he can’t let a kit wander around without any adults.
Hawk and Moth are a bit intimidated at first, but soon adopt Tadpole’s excitement, and collectively bother Bramblepaw to play with them and maybe teach them some cool fighting and hunting moves. He only manages to get away, when Sasha returns. She is shocked to hear what happened and Tadpole gets a good scolding.
Bramblepaw and Sasha talk a bit. She does not tell him anything about her connection to Tigerstar (she of course quickly puts two and two together and guesses that the future warrior and her ex-mate are certainly related), just thanks him for watching over the kits and taking Tadpole back home. They part on good terms.
He briefly mentions that Firestar would not turn down a nursing queen in time of need, but Sasha firmly refuses. She does not explain why.
Later Bramble is unable to get the kits out of his head, Hawk obviously reminds him of himself and maybe even his father. He visits again, just to check if they are okay, and this time actually teaches the kits some moves like they wanted. This continues for some time. They are like little siblings to him at this point, and he loves this. Brablepaw misses Tawnypaw and sometimes wishes they had more time together, and while his time with rogue kits is not the same, he enjoys and treasures it.
He tries very hard to fit these visits in his busy clan schedule and feels conflicted if he should do this, but is unable to give up his new friendship.
He wonders if maybe he can make Sasha change her mind. Maybe he can even help with Hawk’s,Tadpole’s and Moth’s training if they join Thunderclan, he fantasizes. He knows that he is too young for an apprentice, even if his warrior ceremony is fast approaching, but it’s nice to dream.
Then he comes to rogues’ den one day, but there are no kits, only terrified Sasha. They search together (and he is quite impressed to see Sasha intimidate Bloodclan), and come just in time to find the trio trying to get of the flooded building.
Luckily for everyone, Bramblepaw is large enough to barely reach Tadpole and drag him out of water.
He does not take no for an answer this time. The kits are soaking wet and terrified, they need to be seen by a medicine cat. And he sure is not leaving them out of his sight. Sasha is visibly uncomfortable, but complies.
Firestar is surprised by the whole situation and is upset that his apprentice did not tell him earlier, but of course he lets Sasha stay. The kits, after the shock waves off, adapt quite well to the clan life and are exited about their home. None of them really want to leave. All of them adore Bramblepaw and follow him like three little shadows.
The similarities between Bramble and Hawk are obvious, and Firestar confronts Sasha, asking if the father is Tigerstar. She confesses that he used be her mate and asks the leader not to take it out on her kits. He then tells her how he used to harshly judge Bramlepaw for his looks alone and how he was proven wrong, so he is more than willing to give these kits a chance.
They stay and nobody dies and everyone lives happily ever after, Bramblepaw indeed getting to help with his siblings’ training and being the most loving big brother Thunderclan has ever seen.
Some side stuff:
- Mothwing and Leafpool being co-medicine cats. Maybe they are in love)
- Tadpole following Brambleclaw, when the Big Bro™ goes on his super important Starclan quest, cause of course he would. Maybe TadpoleSquirrel along the way, they are closer in age and I just think they’re neat (plus the StarClan shouldn’t be bitchy about it, it’s still Fire and Tiger)
- Tigerstar still trying to convince Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw (maybe Tadpole too, idk how he would feel about a kid who does not look like him) to train under him in Dark Forest, but they both refuse.
- Sasha and Goldenflower bonding time over their shared experience with the Garbagestar. Two ladies just being friends and talking about how proud they are of their children.
- I like the name Tadpoletail, I think it’s cute
