this is it. this is the chapter that makes me vibrate with excitement at 9.9 on the richter scale and also makes me want to hide under a rock like a bug until someone comes to tell me how it’s been received.

if, as i do, you like seeing Sephiroth frolic in fields and interact positively with animals (and also with Cloud), you may enjoy this fic.

Chapter summary: Blue petals, green leaves, and a tiny gold sun.

Their journey takes them back to the coast in the last long hot days of summer, to a large town with a similarly large sea monster problem. The houses here are plastered in pale peach and yellow, their roofs made of terracotta tiles that fit together like the scales of a giant fish. Steep, ruddy hillsides scattered with hardy scrubs and firs; bleached pebble beaches; buildings, all drawn together by the warm glow of the sun at its zenith.

get kinda Icky and Medical about it, how does the healer stitch flesh and blood vessels and nerve endings back together, does it hurt when those nerves reconnect? is it euphoric? is it a little bit of both?

if the healer can manipulate the living body like that, what stops them doing it in reverse? can a sufficiently skilled healer yank the nerves out through a victim's pores?

if 'necromancy' exists as a concept in the setting: how is that any different? should it be? is schlorping a severed limb back onto its owner's body _really_ meaningfully different from resurrecting the whole body as some kind of undead creature?

can healing magic be used to do ~weird shit~ with the endocrine system of a person? could a healer just juice someone with a shitload of estrogen, for fun or pleasure?
