People need to learn to read closely and have better reading comprehension of Rain World.
Slugcats are canonically anthro. Iterators don't have human or earthly concepts of gender so pronouns not meaning gender DOUBLY applies. Slugcats can talk and communicate in societies, even implied before Downpour. Slugcats and Scavengers are comparable to humans and neanderthals. They both literally reuse old Ancient symbols with entirely new meanings FOR THEM. They even craft things in more advanced ways that any animal can normally do, which is again comparable to humans and neanderthals.
If you WANT to headcanon them as feral instead, that's fine but you're attacking others who follow canon directly from the mouths of the Devs. Plus all the lore they COULDN'T put in but have shared for others to know is at least canonically plausible. Like literally shut up and chill out about things you don't enjoy. Maybe even BLOCK THE TAGS AND POSTER... Goddamn.
