Imagine if instead of a strength enhancer, One for All was a Charisma enhancer.

There are so many ways to play off this (terrible) idea, considering the versatility of charisma.

Maybe Izuku is just really intimidating, and everyone backs down without much of a fight.

Maybe it makes him persuasive, and he can just argue people out of fighting through logic and words.

Maybe it makes people pay attention to him. It’s not useful on its own, but it could be used as a distraction.

Or maybe for Izuku, who seems cute and small, it makes people protective of him. (Turns every character Platonic Yandere by accident)

I don’t know what to do with this au, so I’m just throwing it at you for fun. Have a nice day.

Oh my, I can't decide which one of these is the best. So why not combine all of them?

One for All is a charisma enhancer, but how it manifests varies for each holder. Yoichi got the version that made everyone fall in love with him at first sight. Second and Third took one look at this starving dirty man in a vault, and boom, their hearts were gone.

Second got a charisma that made everyone look up to him as a leader. People instinctively trusted Third. Poor Hikage got the version that made everyone pay attention to him to the point where they forget everything else they were doing. He hated it so much that he ran off to live in the forest. Banjo found that everyone around him treated him as an aniki/big brother. En was so cute that everyone treated him as a little brother. Nana got the ability to argue people out of fighting with logic and words.

The ability kept growing stronger over time. All Might obtained an intense power of intimidation so strong that all his enemies surrendered at the sight of him. All Might's skinny form is his real form. He isn't strong at all, people just think he is. This All Might is like King from One Punch Man--he's never actually won a fight, all his enemies just give in to his intimidation. He beat All for One out of sheer luck when All for One slipped and fell onto one of his own quirk attacks.

Since the ability increases over time, Izuku gets the strongest version of all. Unfortunately for Izuku, he got the yandere variation. It could be platonic yandere or romantic yandere, depending on if the recipient finds Izuku attractive.

Every member of Izuku's class who is attracted to the male gender is in love with Izuku. The rest have intense platonic admiration. Katsuki constantly combusts around Izuku because he does not know how to handle the quirk forcing him to feel so much differently from his normal feelings and he hates it.

Luckily other holders of One for All are not affected. All Might thinks that Izuku's intimidating aura is just taking a little while to come in.

In this AU, Sir Nighteye objects to Izuku not out of dislike but because someone so adorable can't be allowed to fight! He might get hurt!

The ability doesn't affect Inko because it doesn't affect anyone who already loves Izuku. (For the same reason, the power wore off on Second and Third after they fell in love with Yoichi for real.)

This AU is not Dad for One. However, All for One takes one look at Izuku and decides that he is the perfect replacement Yoichi. Unfortunately for All for One, he has a lot of competition, because every single villain who meets Izuku wants to vault him. Frankly quite a few heroes have been thinking about it too. Sir Nighteye already has a vault full of All Might merch to lure Izuku in.

Izuku figures out he can weaponize this to make villains underestimate him, then defeat them.

the moment the members of the resistance hear yoichi call kudou 'my hero' they all just ran with it and start calling kudou 'hero' to tease him and that's his call sign now i guess

expanding on the thought of kudou getting the call sign 'hero' and afo getting irked by it for some reason

i have a headcanon that Yoichi trims AFO's hair because i can't help but compare AFO's nicely trimmed hair to Yoichi's and i thought someone had to have cut AFO's hair for him and it is only logical for me to assume it was Yoichi who did. I think AFO would only trust Yoichi to be so close to him with a sharp object like a pair of scissors lol

I think Yoichi would have also liked cutting his brother's hair at first, because it would make him feel helpful in a way? And I just think even when AFO put him in the vault, AFO would still go there to get his hair trimmed by Yoichi.

and once Yoichi joins the resistance, he offers to do this for Kudo as well.

When Yoichi's brother forces the meta ability into him, tying this new thing to the very core of Yoichi’s being, it takes time for the consequences to unfurl. Yoichi is curled on his side, shivering on the floor. It’s dark again. Oppressively so, and lonely besides. The only sound is his shallow breathing and the rustle of his loose clothes against stone.

“This is fucked up,” says a low, rumbling voice. Yoichi freezes.

It’s not his brother. He doesn’t think anyone could’ve slipped in while the door was open either.

“Are you even awake?” the voice demands. “Hey! Yoichi!”

There’s a—there’s a—! Yoichi jerks away from the cold hand pressing against his shoulder, a garbled shriek flying free from his throat. The person who’s somehow slipped into the vault with him curses, but doesn’t chase after Yoichi, even as he scrambles to put his back against a wall. He breathes heavily. His ribs ache. 

“Yoichi,” says the voice. “This is not the time to freak out.”

“Who are you? And how did you get in here, past my brother?” Yoichi snaps back.

“Oh, that’s easy. He brought me in.” There’s a shuffling sound. He hopes that means the stranger is simply sitting instead of preparing to pounce. “As for who I am… well. I don’t think I ever got a name. The man whose meta ability your brother stole, he wasn’t terribly creative. And your meta ability has done something to me, the biggest change of which is that I can,” and here, the stranger snaps his fingers twice, “be here.”

“You’re a meta ability?” 

“In the flesh.”

“You have a conscious?”

“Something like it,” he agrees. “Not sure what I look like, to be honest. Our digs leave a lot to be desired.”

Yoichi is dizzied, and he can’t determine if this is another fainting spell or just the sheer unbelievability of what the man is saying. He and his brother have encountered more Meta Abilities over the years, but very, very few of them have manifested a separate (yet still linked) being. His brother tried one, once, and immediately offloaded the ability into a different person, claiming that he didn’t have the tolerance to play host to any being with an opinion he couldn’t shut down. Yoichi, a decade past wanting an imaginary friend to help him restrain his brother, simply let the issue go.

“Hold on,” he says, weakly. “You’re saying… you keep saying… are you my meta ability?”

A slow, sarcastic clapping. “At least you said it out loud.”

“The one my brother gave me?”

“No. Something more.” A contemplative hum, and then the odd sound of squeaking rubber. “The better question to ask is, how do I go away? Or, most importantly, can I be harmed?”

The detached interest in the stranger’s tone spurs Yoichi into stilted action, spiked by the oppressive darkness and smothered by the sheer fear of an unknown factor existing in the vault. A being tethered to him, like he to his brother. He doesn’t want to let this stranger go, which he most certainly will once his brother finds out that Yoichi now has someone closer to his soul than family.

“No, no,” he blurts out, reaching and recoiling and wanting to die and live and weep. “No, please don’t go—!”

He crashes against a wall. Well, a person who might as well be a wall, made of strange cold skin and a peculiar scratchy fabric. Arms go up and what must be hands flutter at Yoichi’s limbs. “Careful,” he hears, “careful, geez, watch your elbows.”

Eventually, Yoichi realizes that he must be sitting on his meta ability’s lap. He is being hugged, and there is a strange soothing stroke of a finger at one jutting ridge of an ankle. Against his face, the scratchy fabric warms.

“Do you want to be named?” he asks. “You can choose your own name, actually. We’ll find you a book or something.”

“You don’t feel any title on the tip of your tongue? So much for innate knowledge.”

“According to you, you’re not even my original meta ability.”

“No. I’m more.”

Yoichi gingerly explores the dimensions of his meta ability, hyperaware of how it must feel to be pawed at, blindly. There’s a face. A peculiar strip of fabric that bridges the nose. Feathery strands of hair. “I don’t know what happens next,” he whispers. “There’s no world where I get to keep you.”

His meta ability holds him a little tighter, and doesn’t say anything back.
