Another one of my favorite Avatar The Last Airbender stories.
Love is brightest in the dark
Robin Williams was definitely the king of comedy. The older generation of us as kids have very great memories of watching his movies growing up. It’s hard to believe it’s been five years now since he’s been gone but he will never be forgotten.
This is something I have to get off my chest before I start watching book 3 of LoK. In book 2, we learned that Aang apparently favoured Tenzin over his other children. Now I don’t think it was a good idea on the writer’s part to write this in in the first place. It feels like a cheap plot device that ruined Aang’s character just for the sake of creating some drama between Tenzin and his siblings.
HOWEVER I see some people still being majorly pissed at Aang and comparing him to all kinds of other fictional bad fathers, saying that he didn’t love Bumi and Kya at all and this just has to stop.

“ We’ve been through so many things together, and I’ve seen you grow up so much. You’re not that little goofy kid I found in the iceberg anymore. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m really proud of you. ”
I’m running a little late with this, but I still wanted to put something out for the Kataang Anniversary, hosted by @kataang-week. So, I decided to compile (some of) the most iconic Kataang moments through the series, all in chronological order.
I still can’t believe it’s been a decade not only since A:TLA ended, but also since my favorite fictional relationship of all time finally came together. The love and support Katara and Aang show for each other is beautiful, and I’ll never stop loving this show or these characters, no matter how much time passes.
Little did they know…
Zuko hugging his friends in the comics has me weak at the knees.
* Zuko & Aang in “Smoke and Shadow: Part One” * Zuko & Sokka in “North and South: Part Three”
My favorite Kataang moments is the Avatar North and South comic. Aang and Katara with Hakoda is beautiful because it’s shows a real fathers love for his daughter and the real supportive love of Her and Aang. Hakoda still being kind to Aang and showing unconditional love is what real families do for each other.

This youtube cover of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You should be more appreciated, because Christina Grimmie was pure talent. She should be here right now still singing but never got the chance to reach megastardom due to someone taking her life away. Still, she made the song her own, giving it her own combination of strength and sweetness, her own soulful, melodious resonance, her own seemingly effortless modulation between soft and powerful tones, and her command of the whole range of volume, dynamics, and the entire palette of sonic nuance her voice could employ. The voice of Christina Grimmie is unique, inimitable, and -- like Whitney Houston -- worthy of the word "GREAT." RIP Christina Grimmie 1994-2016.

“When I see you again.” ♥
So, I’ve read about my friends going to the cinema to watch “Furious 7” and saying they cried. I haven’t even seen the first 6 movies properly and didn’t really think why it would be so emotional. All I knew was the song “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth from the soundtrack, which is indeed beautiful and where the lyrics I used on this edit originate from. Then, yesterday I looked up some information about Paul Walker and read about the accident in which he died. My first reaction was going like: “Oh… my.. gosh.. I remember all of this and now I understand everything.”
Katara chose Aang because he was her best friend, because she knew him well, trusted him, cared for him more than anyone else. It wasn’t a choice she made lightly; as evidenced first in the episode “The Fortuneteller” and several episodes after that such as The Cave of Two Lovers, City of Walls and Secrets, The Earth King, The Headband, The Invasion, and The Ember Island Players, this was something that Katara thought about for a long time before she decided to start her relationship with Aang at the end of the series.
“But no 14-year old girl would ever want to date a 12-year old, especially when she could have Zuko who is taller and more attractive with a wicked scar!” The problem with that argument is that it is based on the assumption that Katara is a normal teenage girl… and she is not.
First of all, let me point of that by the time Katara was ready to forgive Zuko, she’d already learned the hard way to NOT judge a boy by looks alone through her experience with Jet… her only other canon love interest in the entire series. Moreover, Katara is much more mature than the average teenage girl IRL; with Aang, she is able to look past the surface and see that he is mature and wise beyond his years, and that he has genuine feelings of love and affection for her. Katara says it herself in “The Invasion”:
“We’ve been through a lot together, and I’ve seen you grow up so much. You’re not that goofy kid I found in the iceberg anymore”. In this, we see Katara affirming Aang as her peer; she does not see him as a little brother, she does not consider herself a mother figure to Aang, she sees him as an equal.
Katara also grew up in a radically different environment from our modern world, and also lives in a very different culture. Dating a 12-year old at the age of 14 may seem strange to girls IRL, but to Katara it may not seem so unusual. Look at the Northern Water Tribe; in their culture, a woman can be married at the age of 16, something we would consider unacceptable in the modern world.
As for Zuko… for 55 episodes, Zuko was Katara’s enemy. He kidnapped her, tried to blackmail her, attacked her and her friends on several occasions… but most importantly, the one time Katara chose to give him the benefit of the doubt, he betrayed her in the worst possible way. He nearly got her best friend KILLED. Zutarians fail to recognize how traumatic an experience this was for Katara. It permanently damaged Katara’s relationship with Zuko, and opened her eyes to Zuko’s greatest flaw: As Iroh once said, good and evil are always at war inside him, something that carries forward into the comics even after Zuko helps end the war.
Katara says it herself when she threatens Zuko: “You and I both know you’ve struggled with doing the right thing in the past”. Because of this, Katara never even considers Zuko as a potential partner. In the end, it was not a choice between Aang and Zuko… it was a choice of whether or not she wanted to be with Aang, contemplating her feelings for him, and deciding what Aang meant to her. Zuko was not even a factor.

Robin Williams agreed to be the Genie for Aladdin under the condition that his voice would not be used to sell merchandise. Disney did not hold up their end of the deal, overdubbed his voice for advertisements, then sent him a Picasso painting as an apology.

When Daniel Kovarbasich was just 12 years old, a 52 year old man named Duane Hurley approached him outside an elementary school. Hurley was walking his dog, which was used to successfully attract Daniel’s attention. Only a few days later, Hurley returned with the dog and asked Daniel if he would watch it for him while he ran an errand, to which the young boy happily agreed. Following Hurley’s return, he handed Daniel $30 and thanked him for his help, a move which in hindsight has been regarded as the start of a grooming process which lasted years.
Duane and Daniel went on to establish what appeared to be a friendship. Although Daniel’s parents initially expressed concern, they used information from Hurley’s dog’s collar to research their son’s new friend but found nothing incriminating about him. They therefore allowed their communication to continue and even treated Hurley amicably themselves. Daniel’s mother Donna spoke of how their family would sometimes struggle financially but Hurley would be quick to voluntarily purchase whatever they needed, which only strengthened their positive opinion of the older man. However, despite no apparent problems, Daniel’s parents were extremely shocked to discover on 22nd January 2010 that Duane Hurley had been murdered in his own home- by noone other than their own son. It turned out that Daniel had smashed Hurley round the back of the head with a pickle jar before stabbing him a total of 55 times. After Daniel’s arrest, it quickly became apparent that the teenage boy had been sexually abused by Hurley for years preceding the murder.
Speaking out about the abuse, Daniel told of how it started when Hurley would ask him questions such as “How many different ways can you say the word ‘penis’?” This then progressed to Duane watching Daniel while he urinated, and eventually touching his penis in exchange for money or goods. Daniel recollected that Hurley would simply say “Bigger toys, bigger things” when he asked for something. Ultimately, two weeks before Duane Hurley was murdered, the abuse reached its worst when Daniel was sleeping on Hurley’s couch. While he lay there pretending to sleep, his abuser approached and anally penetrated him. After this point, Daniel began to accept that what was happening was wrong. On the day of the murder, Daniel snapped after Hurley offered to pay him $80 but insinuated he must have sex to receive it. Speaking in court, he acknowledged that he’d lost control and did not realise the extent of the attack until Duane was dead and he had calmed down.
Daniel was sentenced to 5 years probation and was ordered to remain imprisoned until authorities were able to secure him a place within a treatment facility. If convicted of the original murder charge, Daniel would have been facing at least 15 years in jail.

some brothers :^) me and some friends marathoned this series and it’s been like a week and I’m still hung up over it.
I implore each and every one of you to NOT watch HBO’s fictional film that they are trying to pass as a “documentary” titled “Leaving Neverland.” This propaganda hit piece is based on the falsified claims of molestation by the hands of Michael Jackson.
“#Leaving Neverland” depicts two guys fabricating tales of pedophilia that are very grotesque in nature. These men testified on behalf of MJ’s innocence, as adults I might add. One even testified in Michael Jackson’s 2005 trial, and vehemently denied ANY wrong doing by Michael Jackson when he was 22-years old! These two perjurers and liars are Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck.
Allow me to give you a rundown on these two scumbags and perjurers:
In 2011, Robson approached John Branca, co-executor of the Michael Jackson Estate, about directing the new Michael Jackson/Cirque du Soleil production, ONE. Robson admitted he wanted the job “badly,” but the Estate ultimately chose someone else for the position.
In 2012, Robson had a nervous breakdown, triggered, he said, by an obsessive quest for success. His career, in his own words, began to “crumble.”
That same year, with Robson’s career, finances, and marriage in peril, he began shopping a book that claimed he was sexually abused by Michael Jackson. No publisher picked it up.
In 2013, Robson filed a $1.5 billion dollar civil lawsuit/creditor’s claim, along with James Safechuck, who also spent time with Jackson in the late ‘80s. Safechuck claimed he only realized he may have been abused when Robson filed his lawsuit. That lawsuit was dismissed by a probate court in 2017.
In 2019, the Sundance Film Festival premiered a documentary based entirely on Robson and Safechuck’s allegations. While the documentary is obviously emotionally disturbing given the content, it presents no new evidence or witnesses. The film’s director, Dan Reed, acknowledged not wanting to interview other key figures because it might complicate or compromise the story he wanted to tell.
As outlined, they are in it for the money! How you going to make a film telling lies that the King of Pop touched your little wee-wee?! You guys have got to see right through these pieces of shit and understand that Michael Jackson is not the sicko here, two grown men fabricating tales of pedophilia is what’s sick!
While for some it is tempting It is tempting to lump Michael Jackson in the same conversation with R. Kelly and Bill Cosby, I am here to tell you all to stop that shit right now. The allegations surrounding Jackson largely faded over the past decade for a reason: unlike the Bill Cosby or R. Kelly cases, the more people looked into the Jackson allegations, the more the evidence vindicated him.
No fan of Michael Jackson is here to support the abuse of children! Many are parents themselves and as a collective they would not excuse abuse because they “like the music” or they “like the way he danced.” The facts are clear, MJ was NOT a child molester.
So after 26 years, a 10 year secret investigation by the FBI, which was released under the Freedom of Information Act, countless departmental investigations and two legal acquittals, MJ is on the stand once again, except this time one created by social media!
Ultimately we are given two options: we can believe our intelligence agencies and due process, or we can believe two proven liars, extortionists, and opportunists.
I’ve included a link to the FBI files on MJ from their website, and a YouTube video that REALLY knocks it out of the park (warning: harsh language).

What A LOT of people forget or don’t know, including MJ Fans, is that California’s stature of limitation allowed the ‘93 settlement and “evidence” in the 2005 trial. Jordie was conveniently out of the country. Jordie’s mom testified in the trial where Tom Mesereau ripped her apart. We learned in that 2005 trial that she hadn’t even spoken to her son for 11 years up to that point. We also learned that Jordie emancipated himself from his parents and had he showed up, Tom Mesereau had 7 witnesses on standby to testify how Jordy admitted to them that his parents forced him to lie, which is why he emancipated himself from them.
Then there is a lesser known 2 million dollar settlement about tickling that was allowed to enter the 2005 trial as well. The accuser actually did show up to that trial and again was ripped the fuck apart and told 4 different stories in less than an hour while on the stand. Judge Melville even considered charging the accuser right then and there with perjury!
In MJ’s absence, his insurance company negotiated and paid both the settlement, over the protests of Michael and his personal legal counsel. Keep in mind that he was in the middle of a tour making everyone involved with that tour MILLIONS of dollars!
On verdict day when “Not Guilty” was read 14 consecutive times vindicating MJ of ALL charges, that “Not Guilty,” completely exonerated Michael Jackson for the Jordie settlement, the “tickling” settlement, and Gavin Arvizo’s fabrications!

** Systemic Racism Against Michael Jackson**
“This is America.
Black man vindicated in court. Vindicated by the FBI. Vindicated by two investigations. Vindicated by hundreds of witnesses.
Two white men change their stories after twenty years. Claim they lied under oath. Seek lots of money.
Any guess who America believes?”
Joe Vogel recently asked this question. Guys this is what systemic racism is!! Michael Jackson has been a victim of systemic racism for decades. From MTV not wanting to originally play his videos to the media referring to him as “Wacko Jacko.”
The term “Jacko,” didn’t arise out of a vacuum, and certainly wasn’t meant a term of endearment. The very term is rooted in racism. “Jacko Macacco” was the name of a famous monkey used in monkey-baiting matches at the Westminster Pit in London in the early 1820s. “Jacco” was Cockney slang to refer to monkeys in general.
Furthermore, in the United States, blacks use to be referred to as Jackos when whites would claim that you could only see the eyes and teeth of a black person at night. Next time you see news printed calling Michael Jackson “Jacko” or “Wacko Jacko,” call them out on their racism.
So when did they start calling Michael Jackson a “Jacko?” in 1985 when he bought the ATV/Beatles catalog.
“But Andrew, Michael is dead now.”
Correct, and in death he is out earning ALL of their heroes and has since the day of his death.
“But why this bogus film, “Leaving Neverland,” why now?
Michael is being used as a scapegoat and headline grabber to keep attention off Harvey Weinstein who is slated to appear in court the week of the release of the documentary. Dan Reed who directed “Leaving Neverland” is Weinstein’s ace in the hole! They are buddies and have been forever!
Our motive is NOT to silence real abuse victims. Please don’t misunderstand us.
A culture of victim-shaming/silencing has taken decades to reverse. We want ALL genuine victims to be heard.
When 2 men have been proven to be taking advantage of the current #MeToo sentiment in hopes of a payout from a dead man’s estate, we can not stand for that either.
Believe in due process. believe in our intelligence agencies. Believe that facts don’t lie, people do. In this case, those people are Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck! Ask yourselves if this film would exist if Michael was alive? The answer is a resounding “no!” Why? Because
there are currently no laws protecting the deceased from defamation. That includes me, you, and #MichaelJackson. Just think, these two perjurers could have been looking dead in the camera and telling the same lies about YOU!
