Here’s one based on the song “I Love Science” by Hank Green. You can watch his music video here.
This is one of my earliest cards. I don’t watch Stargate myself, but the recipient does.
Battle of Wits from Turnabout Musical.
I painted the plate, spear, and van, but had to print out the photo.
Captain America’s various shields. I’m thinking of doing pages for other Avengers soon.
Images are ink and watercolour.
My take on the wonderful song “Tomorrow, At Last” from Turnabout Musical. You can listen to it here. More information about my design process below the break.
Layout: I split the page in half diagonally both ways. The moon on the top left and the sun on the bottom right represent the parts of the song that take place the night before the trial and the morning of it. Perpendicular to that division, I also split the page into Phoenix’s half (blue) and Edgeworth’s half (red, because I don’t have any paper that’s quite the colour of Edgeworth’s suit). Symbols of people who support Phoenix’s belief that Edgeworth is innocent appear on the top right, and those who agree with Edgeworth that he should be found guilty are on the bottom right. I used white for backgrounds on Phoenix’s side to represent his hopefulness, and black on Edgeworth’s side to represent his despair.
Details: Files: These are the DL-6 files that Phoenix is spending the night reading, with another folder behind for the files for the current case Magatamas: Maya’s orange magatama is on top of Mia’s ghostly purple magatama, showing that Mia is still supporting her. Gun: The gun from Edgeworth’s nightmare Scales: Based on the scales over the judge’s bench in the courtroom. Evidence: The metal detector, stack of lake photos and headphones represent the major contributions of each witness so far (present because of the lines in the song “We’ve given you the fact/ We’ve done all we can do/ We’ve all got you back, Nick/ Now it’s all up to you,” sung by Gumshoe, Lotta, and Larry. Calendar: The colour scheme of the calendar is based on von Karma’s outfit. The two pages that show in part are December 28, 2001 and December 28, 2016. Based on von Karma’s line “It’s taken 15 years but it was worth the wait.” Police logo: Present because of the line “We've helped the prosecution/ Convict a prosecutor” sung by the police (Dustin, Maggey, and Meekins).
Based on Jonathan Coulton’s album Artificial Heart. See if you can identify the songs!
Welcome to Night Vale is awesome! I’ll probably make another more elaborate Night Vale page soon.
Papercrafting about fandoms! Right now I am particularly interested in The Avengers, Turnabout Musical/Ace Attorney and nerdfighteria, but there is some other stuff here as well.
