The stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Here's the thing I keep trying to articulate and possibly failing: I don't actually mind characters who are terrible people. I have enjoyed many. What I mind is characters who are terrible people while the narrative keeps trying to say that they are wonderful, often contradicting what the narrative shows us, with no self awareness
Azriel after the mating bond finally snaps into place:
It’s frustrating to see how often Nesta is misrepresented in fan art and discussions because it feels like her complexity as a character is being overlooked or flattened. Canonically, she has no issue baring herself to her sexual partners or Cassian, demonstrating her confidence and control in those private moments. But socially, she prefers modesty, favoring conservative, structured clothing that projects restraint and distance. This speaks volumes about her personality: she’s guarded, self-contained, and deliberate in how she presents herself to the world.
Yet fan interpretations often strip this away, dressing her in skintight, revealing outfits that clash with her established preferences. It’s frustrating because it stems from a broader pattern of reducing strong, complex female characters to oversexualized caricatures. People see Nesta’s strength, her sharpness, and her intensity and equate that with a need to visually sexualize her, ignoring the deliberate choices she makes about how she presents herself.
This trend also feels rooted in a misunderstanding of her relationship with vulnerability. Nesta doesn’t bare herself to the world easily—whether emotionally or physically. Her modest clothing is a shield, just like her sharp tongue and cutting demeanor. It’s part of what makes her intriguing, but this depth is often erased in favor of the trope of the “seductress” or “bad girl” who must look a certain way.
Meanwhile, Feyre and Elain—who are more open and expressive in their clothing—are often drawn in softer, more modest ways, which only highlights how much Nesta is unfairly singled out for this treatment. It’s not about denying her beauty or sensuality but recognizing that her power comes from her control and the barriers she chooses to put up—not from flaunting herself in a way that goes against her character.
Ultimately, it’s frustrating because it shows a lack of respect for who Nesta is: a woman who keeps her armor on in public but allows herself to be vulnerable in private, on her own terms. Misrepresenting that in art and fandom spaces undermines the very traits that make her so compelling.
It’s also frustrating how Nesta is always depicted as frowning or scowling in fan art and discussions, as if that’s the only expression she’s capable of. Yes, canonically, she has a sharp and serious demeanor, and she’s not someone who smiles easily, but reducing her to a perpetually angry or sour-faced caricature does her a disservice. Nesta’s stoicism isn’t just about anger—it’s about control, restraint, and a lifetime of guarding herself against the world.
Her frown is often misinterpreted as one-dimensional hostility, but it’s far more nuanced than that. She’s worn down by grief, guilt, and a fear of vulnerability that she’s had to carry for years. Her guarded expressions are part of her armor, much like her preference for modest clothing. They’re not just signs of anger; they’re signs of someone who has endured pain and refuses to let anyone see her break.
And while she may not beam with joy at every turn, it’s canon that she has moments of softness and humor, especially with those she lets into her inner circle. She smirks, she teases, and she even laughs—especially in the company of Gwyn and Emerie, where she feels safe enough to drop her guard. These moments may be rarer, but they’re crucial to understanding her character, and they’re often erased in fan portrayals that insist on making her look like she’s constantly angry or unpleasant.
This persistent depiction feels like it stems from a misunderstanding of Nesta’s character. People take her strength, her pride, and her refusal to be anything but authentically herself as a reason to paint her as bitter or unkind. But Nesta’s journey is one of rediscovering herself, learning to let others in, and finding moments of joy and purpose. Reducing her to a permanent scowl ignores her growth, her resilience, and her complexity.
Nesta isn’t just angry—she’s guarded, hurt, and healing. And while she may not be the type to smile easily, when she does, it’s all the more meaningful. Fan portrayals should capture the full range of her character, not just the parts that fit into an oversimplified “ice queen” mold.
person 1, surprisingly sober given the question that they ask: soo... is human taxidermy... legal?
person 2: yeah, ofc, what do you think, that the wax figures in museums are actually wax?
person 3: *lets out a slight screech/scream and slams their head on their desk*

Eris Week supports all mediums of creativity (art, fics, moodboards, playlists, incorrect quotes, head canons, drabbles, theories, etc)
You can ship Eris with anyone and everyone. This blog is ship neutral and will support all works. Eris x OCs are welcome too!
There is no restriction on content. You're welcome to post NSFW as long as you tag appropriately.
Be as wild as you like! We’ve included two prompts per day. Feel free to pick one, both or neither. If you need a little extra guidance, click on the prompt day to see a post with some guiding questions to get the gears turning. [This will be happening over the next 3 weeks].
We do not tolerate hate. Please do not argue or spread negativity on other creators content during this week. We are here to support one another and celebrate one of our favorite characters! If you are not a fan of Eris, you are welcome to block this blog! Your peace of mind is important as is that of our creators.
We will not reblog or interact with any AI art.
We will have a Collection (ErisWeek2023) on AO3! Do some double duty and post your masterpiece there too!
🔥🔥🔥
How do I participate in Eris Week?
During Eris week please post your content on tumblr. Tag this blog in the main body of your post (@erisweek2023) and tag your post with #erisweek2023. If you are posting on AO3, make sure to add your work to the Eris Week AO3 Collection and post your link here on tumblr. If we don’t reblog your post within 24 hours, feel free to send us a message with the link! We would never intentionally not reblog someone’s post.
How can I see all the works posted during Eris Week?
During Eris week, we will compile a list of all works created for that day and post the following morning, Eastern Time. So, Day 1 we will reblog all Day 1 content. Then we’ll start off Day 2 by posting the Day 1 masterlist and then start reblogging all Day 2 content. This is so we can try to account for multiple timezones. If we miss your post or the link is wrong etc, please reach out and we will fix ASAP. At the end of the event we will have THE MASTERLIST to rule them all that will contain links to each day’s masterlist.
If I’m not a creator, how can I support Eris Week?
Leading up to the event, reblog our posts and/ or let your favorite creators know this event is happening! Visibility is incredibly helpful! Reblog and comment on Eris Vanserra works leading up to and during the event! Supporting work now will encourage creators for the event week itself! During Eris Week, be sure to leave a nice comment on AO3 works as well!
I want to participate, but I am nervous! Do you have any advice?
Character event Weeks are an excellent way to practice your craft, take risks, and explore art in a low stakes environment. Here are some words of wisdom that have helped folks in the past: When in doubt, start small! Write a drabble, write some bullet points, make a sketch. All of this is 100% accepted and supported during Eris week. Don’t feel like you have to do something for every day! Pick one or two days that really resonate with you and make content for those days! Don’t compare yourself with others! It’s hard, especially when well known folks are also participating. But remember, everyone is happy to get any content, especially Eris fans. We’re hungry for anything folks will give us! And one day, you may be that well-known creator ;) Don’t aim for perfection! Post something with typos, get a canon detail wrong! People will ignore it and love what you’ve made anyways. I am sure that somewhere in these guidelines, there is a typo! Embrace the chaos! If you’re looking for some reassurance, share your work with a friend ahead of time. Get their feedback! Sometimes a little encouragement can go a long way. Both of the Eris Week organizers are creators and are more than happy to chat with you about ideas, offer advice, or simply cheer you on.
Wait, so who is in charge of Eris Week?
This blog and the event are being run by @bennylavasbuns and @secret-third-thing.
I have a question that isn’t here!
Feel free to send us asks, we’d love to hear from you all! You can send questions, headcanons, ideas, or anything else! If you have a question you’d like us to answer privately, be sure to let us know in the ask. Otherwise, all other asks will be published on our blog.
when men’s shirts ride up just enough and you see just their lil tummy and edge of their adonis belt and there’s maybe a liiiiil tiny happy trail and then their shirt just drops back down and you have to keep having a normal conversation??? like you did not just see god
Hoi I love your works and stories. I would love to write boba fett but have no idea how. Any tips for first time boba fett writers ?
ksjflfjfdksujslfj anon thank you so much 💖🥹😭
I am but an untrained, babey writer myself but I can tell you how I crafted my approach to writing Boba!
Step 1, be obsessed with Boba Fett since childhood, grow up, rediscover your love for him and Temuera Morrison as a slightly unhinged adult.
What hopefully is not just pure rambling below the cut
I watched The Mandalorian (specifically Boba's episodes in season 2) and TBOBF a concerning amount of times, and scoured Tumblr/AO3 for fics of our fav green tin can man. Got comfy with the character, figured out what drives him, what his motivations are, what his worldview and outlook are like. Essentially, my process boiled down to the following:
Immerse myself in the source content
Read, read, read & comment, comment, comment
Talking to the authors who inspired me (like you're doing now!)
Just started writing any and everything that came to me
Read some more, commented some more
Kept writing, saved everything
Got feedback
Now obviously everyone will have their own interpretations of a character, but to me, much of Boba's outlook and personality are defined by the death of his father. He is an intelligent boy raised with love by one of the galaxy's best bounty hunters, who teaches him not only about survival but also honor, respect, and personal responsibility. Jango was far from perfect (as we all are) but he did genuinely love his son and didn't hide that from Boba.
Besides the obvious trauma of seeing his father beheaded in front of him, Boba experienced a lifetime of further trauma that would have easily made him go back on what his father instilled in him. He was angry and he was alone during this time, his motivations being centered in anger and inexorable control (as seen in his drive to keep his reputation as a hunter stellar). To him, others were a liability, caring about anyone would only lead to pain. Boba burned bright and hot, but ultimately this path was not sustainable.
After the sarlacc and his time with the Tuskens, Boba was able to grow past the shadow of his father's death--there were different ways to honor his father than just being the best. He could heal himself, lead with respect and principles that harken back to his grandfather's code (whether he knows that or not), live a life that didn't have to end on some pointless job for the galaxy's scum. Boba relearned the importance of clan, that one cannot face this existence alone. Daimyo Boba now burns strong and even, fed by hearty logs rather than dry kindling.

I hope this was what you were looking for (and coherent lmao) and best of luck with your writing! We all can't wait to see what you come up with for our beloved Boba 💚
No pressure tags if some of these other Boba writers (and anyone else!) want to add anything to this: @rexxdjarin @thefact0rygirl @saradika @acatalystrising @thirsty-boba-fett-posts @bobathirstaccount @deewithani @writingwintermoon
(when a guy who joined one of your classes three days ago who you literally have never even made eye contact with and stares at you constantly and you don’t know his name and he doesn’t know yours and he’s verbally violent and just gives you budding psychopath vibes writes you a full six page love letter along with an illustration of you and him together)
