YES!! I felt so uncomfortable when I saw people calling Dream homophobic for this.

Im actually genuinely curious, as to why being affectionate with your friends, and showing it to the audience can be deemed as HOMOPHOBIA/HOMOPHOBIC.

Even when said person is FRIENDS with a person that is GAY and friends with people that are part of the LGBTQ+

And to add to that list-

Someone who has said maybe more or multiple times ON STREAM.

Things such as

"Bi-Rights" , "Trans-Rights" .

I'm also curious as to why some of you may be positive to think that dream calling george his "Partner" is gay baiting whereas it can deemed and interpreted as many different contexts.

"A business partner" "A good ally" etc etc

But of course, after the good partner part, dream himself has said along the lines that

"An even better friend" so the context word of "friend" is no longer elligable for "partner" right?

Yes, but it can still mean a different context, other than what you might be thinking right now.

100% DISAGREE.

If you have been with the dteam or george, sapnap, or dream long enough it's easy to know that aint the case.

In the first DREAM SMP stream(earliest day), a bunch of donos would often come in about george and dream, all kissy kissy, being boyfriends, yadda yadda and stuff like that.

IF DREAM ACTUALLY INTENDED FOR DNF TO HAPPEN.

His reaction to those types of stuff would be different to what he actually did.

Cause y'know when you know you're gonna gay bait people, you NEED AND HAVE TO play along but no.

Instead, when a dono came rolling in telling him to call george sexy/cute/and so on, his reaction was confused and a bit weirded out, and he GENUINELY didnt want to say it.

So is that what you would classify someone who INTENDS to gay bait with his bff and his own ship?

And ive said this before on some other speculation.

Now back to the topic, how is it that dream being flirty with george (something i also often do with my dttwt moots, dtreddit friends, IRL friends) Homophobic? 🤔

The toxicity in this fandom/community needs to stop.

Jshlatt got doxed 8 times. People have tried to dox dream twice. Thunder1408/Jack Manifold took a break because of all of this as far as I’m aware. Wilbur Soot ended stream early because of chat.

The fact that I can go to a friend and say “Jshlatt got doxed again” and they wont even hesitate to believe me disgusts me. Its sad its a norm here.

All of its a bit. They all have personas. Learn how to separate their persona from the person. Learn how to respect the person. Learn how to be a decent person with morals and common sense.

Don’t send death threats to creators over bits. Its honestly sad I have to say it. Grow up.

And while we’re still on the topic, respect their goddamn boundaries. Before you write fanfiction or draw art see what they are okay with being drawn in or written as and what they are not okay with.

Example: Eret, Schlatt, Tommy, Tubbo, etc aren’t okay with shipping. Wilbur Soot doesn’t want to be put in NSFW works, as do many other people. Just because the dream team is okay with everything doesn’t mean the rest of the smp is. Do your research.

If a creator doesn’t wanna be treated a certain way, do no treat them like that. Tommy, Tubbo and Dream don’t want to be babied. Don’t treat them as such. nothing more to it.

While I’m still here it’d be best to say it, don’t shame creators for their body types or draw them completely wrong because of the excuse of “his mc skin”. Doesn’t work. Don’t shame Sapnap for being chubby, don’t shame Fundy for being skinny, don’t white wash Skeppy in art, etc.

You’re like fourteen. A creator is not going to date you. I don’t know why it has to be said. Do not send hate to the ladies or gentlemen they date. that is their life and its good enough they trust us enough to share that.

Don’t look for a creators personal info. Just don’t. Its disrespectful, its creepy, and it can even be dangerous for them in some cases. (cough cough dream cough cough) (there are many examples, I just think a good one is dream)

Don’t talk about other streams during a certain cc’s stream unless they ask. Don’t try to tell your streamer to do something else than what they are doing in their stream already? Don’t wanna watch a minecraft stream? Wanna see cc play among us? Switch streams. Watch vods.

My lovely og minecraft watchers out there, as someone whos watched mcyts for literal years, I think its time to say, do not send hate to newer watchers. Just because they started later than you does not make them a “fake fan”. 

One last thing to say. The fact that creators have to tell off their chats for being toxic so much disgusts me. Don’t try to derail a stream because of something another streamer is doing. Don’t say toxic stuff when a creator is doing a bit. DO NOT SEND THEM DEATH THREATS OVER SOME SORT OF BIT. Have respect and have common sense. Grow up.

I know this wont get to the millions of people in the fandom/community but, to those who it did get to, just have some respect and decency. Its not hard.

Lets try to do better guys. We need to.

I LOVE this cute little detail with tup, anyone we’ve ever seen holding the above handle in a gunship uses one hand, but tup is clinging with two.

It’s also the fact that none of the other actors ever said shit. Like?? Sure Oscar and Kelly had their racist shit going on but the HUGE, LOUD campaigns against John were truly the most disgusting shit I’ve ever seen hurled at an actor. Also Adam?? And Daisy??? Daisy “This is my best friend I call him my peanut” Ridley??? Aka the most beloved of the trilogy the bitches with the biggest fucking privilege who would’ve had basically ZERO repercussions for speaking out. Nobody made so much as a TWEET of support saying “hey don’t call my cast mate slurs” like?? John had to deal with all of the racist bullshit on his fucking own and it makes me sick that he never got so much as a dime of support from anybody on the set it’s disgusting.

Celebrity Platforms

Today, someone I’ve respected for a long time made some tweets that were incredibly controversial for obvious reasons. To be clear, I have supported Twenty One Pilots for a long time. I was at their concerts with audiences of 500, and Their music saved my life. I have a tattoo of the song that saved me.

Tonight, however, Tyler tweeted some problematic content. For context, his fans have apparently been begging him to use his celebrity platform to speak out about important issues. Namely, the BLM movement. Instead of initially tweeting about BLM, he tweeted this.

I see where this could have been funny in another context. It’s very much a “read the room” situation, and Tyler did not. Two hours later, he begins a thread of tweets about mental health.

Mental health is important by all means. The way he went about this was a bit flawed. Some of his tweets made his followers believe he was in danger; and that they had caused him to be in danger. I wouldn’t go quite as far as to call this gaslighting, but he was on thin fucking ice.

Two hours after this, he finally tweets his stance on the BLM movement. His response is incredibly flippant. He stated that Black lives matter, but he wanted to take time to talk about what he felt was important. Then, he said, “but I guess there’s no room for that right now.”

He then finally apologized.

Let me be incredibly clear, there is always room for mental health awareness. Always. No one is upset with him for promoting this awareness. What people are upset about is the flippant way he went about promoting issues. The way he joked about using celebrity platforms to promote the BLM movement, after months of silence.

His “stans” are jumping to his defense. Saying he shouldn’t have to promote “political” issues. He’s not an activist, he’s a musician.

Some of the fandom has canceled him.

What needs to be done is to have celebrities held accountable. We don’t need to cancel. We need to educate. Human rights issues are NOT political. You don’t have to be an activist to speak up about human rights; and it doesn’t make you an activist to do so. It makes you a human being.

Celebrities, specifically straight, white, cis, men; have an obligation to use their platforms for good. This is not exclusive to celebrities; but people tend to listen to those who have a higher societal standing (appeal to unqualified authority and all that), and thus, will listen to their favorite celebrities. We all have this obligation with social media. Use your platform for good. Be better. Do better.

Friendly reminder to not call things your spirit animal if youre a non-native person. Ive seen this shit twice this week in this fandom and im not having it.
