TW: BODY IMAGERY: BODY DISMORPHIA: ED
Hello everyone! I hope your day is going well. I have had this thought in mind for quite some time, and I want to post about goddesses and the cross-cultural depictions of beauty. In astrology, Venus is the planet of love, fertility, beauty, and harmony. However, within the depictions, cross-culturally, it seems like she is depicted as a full-figured woman with hips, dips, and all (I know all these women are not called Venus, but when I say that, I mean the goddesses of Beauty). But, within the times now, it seems that women whose bodies are full-figured are often hated and told to "lose weight" to fit the skinny heroin chic or the BBL body and skinny waist. It's extremely unattainable for all women, and I want women from every corner of life to not feel bad for their bodies, as all bodies are beautiful.
Let me show you depictions of the goddess of beauty across the diaspora.
Aphrodite (Greece):
Venus of Willendorf (found in Austria):
Kichijoten (Japan):
Lakshmi and Parvati (India):
Oshun (Africa):
Venus (Italy):
There are a lot more depictions of beauty as well.
These depictions of beauty are very vast and all different (due to cross cultures). I just wanted to note the different versions of beauty, and how each version of beauty is not lesser than the next.
Within America's standards' however, I want to note some famous women who are beautiful within the standards and some of their words about their journey's and struggles with this topic.
Bella Hadid
" I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety—what was I doing getting into this business"
“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” she says. “I think I would have grown into it.”
“I’d pack my little lunch with my three raspberries, my celery stick. I was just trying, I realize now, to feel in control of myself when I felt so out of control of everything else.”
We also know her relationship with her mother Yolanda, and how harsh she was to both Bella and Gigi about their eating habits :(
Beyonce:
"I remember when I started hearing people criticise me after I had put on some weight. I was 19"
"During my recovery, I gave myself self-love and self-care, and I embraced being curvier. I accepted what my body wanted to be."
"I think it’s important for women and men to see and appreciate the beauty in their natural bodies. That’s why I stripped away the wigs and hair extensions and used little makeup for this shoot."
Marylin Monroe:
Quotes from someone close to her:
A common ‘Marilyn quote’ that seems to pop up a lot on social media is “Don’t worry if you’re not a size 0. It’s society who’s ugly.”
Marilyn actually stuck to a rather extreme diet regimen to maintain her tiny frame, with her weight fluctuating quite frequently.
Jennifer Lawrence
In article: Lawrence then told Harper’s Bazaar UK that she was told by people in the industry (when she was younger) that she was fat.
“Today, if anybody even tries to whisper the word ‘diet,’ I’m like, ‘You can go f*** yourself.'”
Rihanna
“But, you know, it comes with a price. You want to have a butt, then you have a gut.”
Demi Moore
Her experience with a photographer at 14.
“The perfect example is when I was told to lose weight multiple times. The producer pulled me aside. It was very embarrassing and humiliating. But that’s just one thing."
Jennie Kim
Some comments under the post:
"Why does it look like you're pregnant?"
"She needs CK team to photoshop her bloatedness"
"Either she has a bloated stomach or is preggy with g-drugon ijbol"
Nicki Minaj
In the article: “There are questions that you can’t just google,” she explained. “Every day a mom has to wake up and be a supermom no matter what they’re faced with. It’s gotten so easy to be alone physically, where young people spend 12, 16 hours a day in their rooms on their phones, looking at these false realities, comparing themselves. I’ve seen artists gone way too soon, and I wonder if that could have been avoided if they’d just had the chance to talk about what they were going through.”
These are women who are considered beautiful, and these are their experiences with body issues, shaming, and the culture surrounding health.
I know that these depictions of beauty are across different cultures, and they speak from a different period than what we are now, but why shouldn’t these depictions of beauty be embraced today? These different varieties of beauty should be celebrated, not restricted. All these depictions are different varieties, not a one-size-fits-all-all, why do women have to restrict and fight for a body they do not have to be seen as beautiful? Body standards change over time, and it's crazy to force women into this form of beauty when all these forms of beauty depicted earlier are of Venus, goddesses of beauty, fertility, love, and harmony.
To anyone reading this, I just want you to know that you should not force yourself or restrict yourself to fit a standard that is not meant for you. Your beauty is not a one-size-fits-all-all, nor should your body be.
Boundaries of a woman who loves herself:
• No calls or texts after 10 p.m.
• I have a busy schedule, don't ask me to make plans last minute because I won't be available
• Don't ever disrespect me, if you do, we're done
• My time is valuable, so don't expect me to rearrange my day for anyone
• I won’t tolerate inconsistent communication—if you’re serious, be consistent
• I value my peace, so drama or negativity has no place in my life
• My boundaries are non-negotiable; if you can't respect them, we're not a match
• I don’t explain my decisions—what I choose is final
• If I’m not treated with kindness, I walk away
• My mornings are for me— don’t expect immediate replies
• I won’t entertain anyone who doesn’t respect my time or energy
• I don’t tolerate passive-aggressive behavior; be direct or be gone
• I expect effort in relationships— half-hearted attempts won’t get my attention
• I prioritize my self care— interruptions without reason aren’t welcome
• I don’t chase anyone; if you're not intentional, I’m not interested
Astrological Wonder #1: Can Saturn create strict beauty routines?
Focusing on the beauty practices of Marlene Dietrich and other Saturnian Women🪞
Marlene Dietrich, a baddie you were!
Marlene was a Pushya Moon, Mula Sun, and Magha Rising. I have heard a lot about Mercurial Nakshatras getting plastic surgery due to their finicky nature (@coilserpent stated this in her mercurial beauty post), but Marlene was apparently very picky about her appearance once she started to age.
Now I got this from the makeup queen Erin Parsons, but she has a video about makeup tips from women ranging from Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Dandridge, and other women, including Marlene. In the resource, she found it mentioned that Marlene would use tape to pull her face "taut" (pretty much a Croydon facelift), where she had her make up artists twist tiny strands of her hair around hairpins which were then pulled fiercely tight and fixed further back onto her head, almost so tight to the point she would bleed. She did so to "preserve" her high cheekbones, which made her look youthful. I wonder if this was due to her Pushya Moon (she also had Venus in the 6th too)
Kim Kardashian (Jyestha Rising, Uttara Bhadrapada Moon)
Kim is another good example of this. Although most people chalk it up to her Mercurial influence, but I wonder if Saturn plays a part in it too.
Joan Crawford (Uttara Bhadrapada Sun) Apparently, she would splash her face with ice-cold water 25 times every time she washed her face, which was twice a day. She would also chew a lot of gum throughout the day to tone her neck and jawline.
Gloria Swanson (Uttara Bhadrapada Sun) was known as a health nut of sorts, would never eat sugar, would eat raw vegetables, and make a face mask out of them from time to time. I was afraid of aging terribly.
Astrological Wonder: Saturn and Mercurial Naks are infamous for aging backwards, but Saturn deals with restriction, limitations, and delays, so I wonder if Saturn naks also deal with heavy routines within beauty maintenance. I know other Pushya's like Angelina Jolie, Selena Gomez, and Halle Berry do not have such intense beauty routines as Marlene did.
Anyways, this was just a small observation! Would love some thoughts!
All women (and I mean ALL) are on the pick-me spectrum. No woman is immune to patriarchal indoctrination, even if she grew up in a matriarchal household. We're all initially on the pick me spectrum. Thing is, are you deconstructing patriarchy? Are you deconstructing the socialization and deep-rooted programming? Like, are you putting in the work to actually change? Because calling yourself a "girl's girl" means NOTHING. Bashing overt pick-me's doesn't automatically absolve you from what little pick-me tendencies you have. Calling yourself a feminist means fuck-all actually.
And being male-centered doesn't mean you wouldn't pick your female friends over a man any day — although that's more of an extreme example which harms those outside of you. Being male-centered / pick-me could be as 'harmless' as planning your future around an imaginary man or seriously waiting for a man; "Oh I want to move to Paris by 30 but I can't because I want to meet my husband first", "Oh I'm studying hard only so that I can meet a very educated accomplished man when I'm educated and accomplished myself", "Oh I plan on moving to Spain only when I'm with my future boyfriend 😁✨". When you have to halt your plans or dreams to prioritize a man/imaginary man, that IS male-centered. When you center a man/imaginary man around your plans or dreams, that IS male-centered. Putting your wants + needs second for a man/future man is male-centered. Women are socialized to center men in even the "little" things.
Imagine being born into a family with all the women having at least one Sun nakshatra
My mom, Uttara Ashada Sun with Uttara Phalguni Moon, older sis has an Uttara Ashada Moon, and my younger sis has a Krittika Moon. I'll leave mine up for interpretation hehehe😝
Sun nak women are such bad bitches, lemme explain some traits they have:
Greatly generous with resources
If you need help, they will help you. Especially towards their loved ones, and they are very open to sharing information with their loved ones to keep them updated and knowledgeable about certain subjects. They give and do not expect in return!
Extremely Loyal
If you prove to be reliable and trustworthy, they will be loyal to you. They are the type of defend you in public but correct you in private. Show up for you sometimes more than they do themselves
Firm on their boundaries
They will let you know if you break one, but are very upfront about what they expect, and they don't leave up room for interpretation. Firm on their boundaries and will gently let those they love know.
Very Influential
I've stated this before, but yang women are very influential towards the masses of women. They are the ones on screen telling you to throw hot grits on your abusive husband (i know that was an extreme example). I think yang women in general are such great motivators for how to stand up for yourself in a world where they want women to be docile, quiet, and "feminine", but yang women are here to show you that you can be a woman and have standards. That you're not less of a woman because you don't fit into the cookie-cutter standards placed on women. Sun women are always there to tell you that you can ask for the world, and you will always get it🌞
If you have a Sun woman next to you, HUG HER for always showing that in a world full of haters and people who try to bring you down, there are always Sun women who made the runway so we can strut it!
i always knew i was a bad bitch once i realized i have a lilith leo in the 10th (11th house whole system) 💔💔💔
Hi, my name is Mosab , I’m from Gaza, and like many here, I’ve lost more than I ever thought I could bear — my family, my home, my sense of safety, and the simple moments that once gave life meaning. 💔
I’m not writing this to ask too much of anyone. I’m sharing a piece of my story — not because I want sympathy, but because I still believe someone, somewhere, might care enough to listen.
If this message finds you at the wrong time, I understand.
I’m truly sorry if it feels like an interruption.

There's so much information out there about Mercurials, Jupiterarians, Rahu and Ketu, Mars, and Venus but not enough information about Sun Nakshatras. Maybe I didn't do a good job of looking, but maybe I should create a post about the positive and negative manifestations of Sun Nakshatras.
If there is information about that already, lmkkkkkkk :)
One thing I notice a lot is when the Sun and Venus's nakshatras are together, the negative manifestation of that is heavyyyy narcissism (the sun is a manifestation of that I know but it's crazy to see that paired with Venus)
Anyways :)
