mcgenjis where they were crushing on each other since blackwatch but never dared to go anywhere further with this because things were too much of a mess so they just remained weird friends who really care about each other and secretly wish for something more, and then later when they meet post recall as changed men they are finally able to see each other as potential lovers, have all their firsts and express all the love they thought was not possible before

mcgenjis where they were crushing on each other ever since genji was a part of yakuza and jesse was sent to japan to gather intel about the shimada clan, it was not serious but they still formed some sort of connection and genji decided to leak info to overwatch through jesse, when jesse learned about genji’s situation with his family he offered him to run away and join overwatch but that never happened because of the unfortunate incident so overwatch had to get whatever was left of genji, once they met again, both as blackwatch agents now, things got really awkward, they both remembered their playful conversations, days and nights they spent together, but genji’s near death experience was too traumatizing so he couldn’t even think of going back to romance and trying to develop their relationship further, meanwhile jesse felt like what happened to genji was partially his fault and he was scared that genji thought the same and would never forgive him, but as time passed they learned more about each other, grew closer and were falling in love more and more until finally they were both ready to continue from where they left off and those feelings carried over into the post recall times where they remained good friends and lovers
