I grow our own vegetables. Many hybrid and heirloom varieties are bred for flavor rather than for commercial appeal and travel. There are entire species on the allotment that you can’t easily buy in stores because of this - like salsify, a root vegetable that tastes of fish and shellfish. Our neighbours happily take it to make vegan latkes of alarming similarity to fishcakes. You cannot sell it in stores because - despite looking like a white parsnip - it turns brown when you pick it if you scrape/bruise/cut the white root in any way, or damage the delicate little hairs, for some reason, it BLEEDS RED and is very upsetting to look at.

There are whole classes of foods like this. Foods that just don’t ship well or look good on supermarket shelves. Forbidden fruits. Vegetables that bleed and taste like meat. Sorry about this

The Peryton Is A Mythological Creature Resembling A Deer With The Wings And Overall Plumage Of A Bird.

The peryton is a mythological creature resembling a deer with the wings and overall plumage of a bird. Sometimes perytons can have bird-like hind legs, but are often depicted as being entirely deer aside from the wings. Last image created by the talented Skallan of Deviantart.

Glassware Can Get Pretty Expensive Especially If You’re In College And Always Getting Sht Faced And

Glassware can get pretty expensive especially if you’re in college and always getting sht faced and breaking your glasses. Start just using your empty beer bottles and turning them into your new glasses. Look dope, easy to make and cheap! Follow these 5 easy steps.

Step 1 – Grab a beer bottle preferably with thick glass such as corona bottles. Tie a string just above the label on the empty bottle

Step 2 – Keep the string tied and soak it in lighter fluid.

Step 3 – Put the string back on the bottle and hold it horizontally. Light the sting rotating the bottle so the flame spreads. You should hear the bottle crack slightly in about 10 seconds.

Step 4 – After you hear the crack, pour cold water on the string and the top of the bottle will fall off.

Step 5 – Now grab sandpaper and sand the edges of the bottle till it is smooth.

By the numbers: Why this ancient rainforest is an important climate solution
Key facts and figures show why Tongass National Forest in Alaska is an important ally in confronting climate change. The Tongass’ large old-growth trees are great at trapping carbon, underscoring the importance of protecting the wildest areas from logging and development.
Excerpt From This Story From The Wilderness Society:

Excerpt from this story from The Wilderness Society:

Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. This makes them some of our greatest allies in the fight against the climate crisis.

Big, dense, old-growth forests are especially good at absorbing and trapping (or “sequestering”) carbon, the leading greenhouse gas causing climate change. The Tongass National Forest in Alaska is often referred to as “America’s Climate Forest,” the nation’s “climate insurance policy” and “a national champion” of carbon sequestration.

But that only works if they’re left standing. Once cut down, these trees release their stored carbon and can exacerbate the climate crisis. That’s why we need to protect old-growth trees in places like the Tongass.

The Trump administration got rid of protections for the wildest parts of the Tongass. The White House said it plans to review that decision. We encourage President Biden to follow through on that promise and ultimately restore protections to this ancient rainforest.

Tongass National Forest has been called a “key weapon“ for fighting climate change. The reason: big, old-growth trees are highly effective at trapping climate-warming greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing (or “sequestering”) it. Scientists have estimated that the Tongass accounts for about 8% of the carbon sequestered by all national forests.

Bottom line: if left standing, these trees are crucial to combating the climate crisis. But when old-growth trees are logged, they release carbon back into the atmosphere, exacerbating the climate crisis rather than helping it. Research has found that carbon density in unmanaged forests is 60% higher than in managed forests. In other words, forests like the Tongass are most effective in helping the climate crisis when left alone.

Scientists have known for quite some time that plants—especially trees—are big-time absorbers of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. A 2011 study tried to quantify the worldwide effect and reported a net global forest sink of as much as 1.1 petagrams—1.1 billion metric tons—of carbon per year. According to the EPA’s calculator, that means the world’s forests annually remove carbon from the atmosphere equivalent to that contained in nearly 54 million tanker trucks’ worth of gasoline.

Lol it doesnt matter if a cop shoots two times or trillion times, you learn in police school if somebody is a threat for you, you shoot him till he stops moving...

Let’s take a moment to take your law apart and analyze it:

image

Darren Wilson chose not to carry a non-lethal weapon as well because it was not the most comfortable thing

image

furthermore

image

Mike Brown was unarmed

image

these are Darren Wilson’s so-called injuries (THEY EVEN TRIED PASSING OFF A BIRTHMARK AS AN INJURY)

image
image

Darren Wilson stopped Mike Brown for jaywalking, and he had no information about him supposedly robbing a convenience store. The store owner even said that nobody reported a robbery and he doubts that it was Mike Brown who shoplifted 48 dollar worth of items from his store. No matter what the police tells you, no matter if they claim Darren Wilson responded to a call, no matter how many witnesses they ignore, we still have the word of the store owner and his clerks, which they gave out publicly.

image

Mike Brown supposedly attacked Darren Wilson. Darren Wilson decided not to use mace that he said he had on him, but to shoot Mike Brown 6 times.

Unarmed Mike Brown was no threat to anyone. Even if he struggled for the gun, which I highly doubt, he was shot from a distance, which suggests he was running away. From my understanding, he was first shot in his forearm, from the back, while he was running away. Then he turned around and was shot in his upper arm, while he was still standing. He was shot in his chest while he was falling down and in his head, while he was already down. This was proven by Cyril Wecht, and if you do not know who he is, look him up. He worked many high-profile cases and is excellent in his line of work. Do watch his explanation.

Darren Wilson is a trained police officer. He was trained to work under pressure and to know how to react in such situations. He is in no way an inexperienced young cop (or a 5 year old) who could have reacted wrongly because he never found himself in a similar situation. He is a grown man who described Mike Brown as looking like demon to justify his actions.

image
image

An unarmed 18 year old child. It. A demon. Hulk Hogan. And he said he would do it again. He would shoot dead an 18 year old boy who was running away from him.

image

Throwing this in as well because it’s important and not enough people are talking about it.

image

Not to mention, Darren Wilson’s most vocal supporters, the KKK. And he’s being investigated himself about being connected to them in ways he shouldn’t have been.

Frank Ancona, leader of the KKK, admitted to speaking to law enforcement in Ferguson off the record. He tried to take it back afterwards, which only made it clearer that Ferguson police has been working with the KKK.

And in case you failed to read this anywhere else (624 black men if you do the math):

image

Even though it now has enough signatures, you can still sign this petition to bring Darren Wilson up on federal charges.

IN CONCLUSION

image

YOU DO NOT SHOOT UNARMED BOYS UNTIL THEY STOP MOVING THE LAW NEVER SAYS CONTINUE SHOOTING WHEN THE BOY IS FALLING DOWN AND DEAD ON THE FLOOR, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO INCAPACITATE HIM AND NOT KILL HIM

(all underlined text leads to other sources, do click on it)

EDIT: ADDING SOME NEWER INFO

A lot of the buildings being burned down and destroyed in Ferguson are owned by black owners. It’s the KKK’s work. A couple of looters aside, the actual protesters are not harming anyone or anything. Nothing is sacred to them.
