Don’t burn yourself out! Take a break, go for a walk, get some water, and come back to it.

This creatively bankrupt content loop of Star Wars content we're stuck in strongly damaged my connection to this series but every now and then there's a project that pulls me back in reminding me how much I really love this series' potential. I watched Visions s2 with my brother and seeing the cultural influences from the diverse group of studios and unique stories had me enthralled. Ofc they're only short self contained stories, but it feels like each one taps into the creative potential of the SW verse in a way that we aint get to see often.

Gundam IBO goes so fucking hard I love this show's story. The death flags are pretty obvious and its definitely hammy n cliche sometimes but I've had lots of fun watching it with my brother so far, and that boy Orga got 100% undiluted real nigga coursin through his veins.

Followin up on my request for some fire action centric wlw fantasy or sci fi literature/comics/manga to fill the void left by the Kyoshi series, I did try getting into Locked Tomb w/ Gideon The Ninth and loved the world and setting but I was not feeling the uhh "contemporary" writing style at all. I imagine that's a huge part of the appeal for a lot of people so I cant bash it or call it a flaw but I wasnt rocking with it personally. Will continue on my journey and try any recommendations I come across.

Bro Mandarin is such a fun language to learn but I be having trouble trying to think outside of english. Like, theres a disconnect between when I hear a phrase and can mentally parse it cause im still converting the words to my native language instead of understanding it outright without the extra step, if that makes sense at all. I wonder if other people who are new to learning a second language experience this and how they practiced to get over it. Also I should probably start learning hanzì already but I been lazy since I found out Chinese citizens learn pīnyīn, my ass gotta kick the procrastination habit.

Almost done reading The Rise of Kyoshi and I've really loved it so far. Being a lover of ATLAs world seeing it further expanded on and especially learning more about the history of the four nations (mostly the earth nation in this book) is enough to keep me reading on their own, but the characters are also all very good. I think Kyoshi herself has quickly become my favorite character in this seriws and watching her work through her lack of self-worth and fear among other things was hella engaging. Her character has totally pulled me in, not to mention she's just cool as FUCK (and a lil silly). Also, this lesbian romance is life changing.

Im like 13 eps into Gundam IBO so far and have hella conflicting feelings about this series. Orga is possibly my favorite character in this franchise outright, and I'm a sucker for well done found family (doomed as it may be) so I've really enjoyed Tekkadan so far. On paper its straight up my fav Gundam, not to mention Barbatos' design is raw as hell. That being said, the writing is just not good a lot of the time and the more Gundam series I watch the more I feel that G Witch might be the only one in the history of this franchise with romance that DOESNT make me wanna turn my skin inside out. (Mikazuki kissing Kudelia made me sigh so loud dawg) I've got quite a few grievances but I'll save my full thoughts for when I've finished the series.
