fred bonaparte from psychonauts 1 has what i would easily consider the most hilarious character design in anything across the board like he sweeps the funny character factor in just about everything. you can just TELL whoever designed him was holding back tears whenever they looked at the modeling program and saw his unearthly fucked up proportions

A Guide to Gorillaz Art Styles: Phase 1
Nobody asked for it, but I wanna discuss some observations I’ve had over Jamie’s art style changing as I’ve researched it thoroughly in order to apply the different styles to my own work. Most people are aware of how much the art changes between phases, but naturally it evolves a lot during the phases too. One thing I think would be really interesting is to find an order in which the images were released in order to create a more solid timeline.
Early Phase 1 (1999 - 2000)
Not counting concept art, this is some of the first pieces created for Gorillaz; a lot of it is visible in Bananaz, circa 1999, some even with the older name “Gorilla” instead of “Gorillaz”. A lot of the characters are a little off-model around here, their personalities and designs not fully-formed yet. Most notable tells:
Visible in Bananaz
2D’s hair is very purple here and his skin is a little darker than later on in the phase
Russ’ skin is a bit darker and redder compared to the later more washed-out skin tone
Russ and 2D’s eyes are noticeably smaller.
Murdoc and Noodle’s hair are, for the most part, solid black or with very minimal shine
Little to no colour highlights
Mid-Phase 1 (2001)
(Group art, circa late 2000/early 2001)
(19-2000 promo art, some time after June 2001)
This is pretty much the main Phase 1 style, released alongside the self-titled album. Although naturally there’s still some experimentation, things are more consistent here as the characters are closer to their familiar looks. The images I’ve shown are actually fairly different; as the art evolution is far more fluid than just these sub-phases and you can pick out some of the notable points to place the upper image as earlier than the lower one. You’ll see this style on most magazines released in late 2000 - 2001. Most notable tells:
Far more detailed clothing; more pockets and zips and logos, etc rather than just the simple shirts and jumpers of early on in the phase
Highlights! Most notably on the faces and coats, this adds an extra dimension to the art and gives it a much prettier look
Murdoc is slightly greener. This is something of a trend
2D’s hair is still a simple gradient, but it’s looking a little bluer than purple
Late Phase 1 (2002 - 2003)

(Celebrity Harvest concept art, 2003)
Since most of the hype of Gorillaz’ debut album had passed, art from this era kind of slowed down to a near-halt. This makes a lot of the changes far more noticeable as there’s less of a steady evolution here. The Celebrity Harvest-era art is probably the very peak of this, a lot of the colourless pencil art pretty much resembling Phase 2. Most notable tells:
Even more detail! You’ll see more hair lines, wrinkes, stitches and stubble here, along with more detailed fingers
Noodle’s not wearing her helmet! This is a fairly significant design change as you can see her become slightly older
Cortez (or a similar bird) starts appearing around this point, albeit only in a couple of images
Murdoc is basically fully green here
A lot of hair shine, looking a lot more reflective
2D’s hair is clearly blue in a lot of the art from this era, although there’s still a slight gradient look to it
There’s a lot of solid black shadows, Jamie clearly going for a more comic-style look
gorillaz will make the most beautiful song you've ever heard then 2D will say it was inspired by that time he pissed his pants in kohls because someone was hogging the bathroom or some shit
send me a 🔊 and a character and ill say a song from outside their source media that reminds me of them somehow
Stranger Things and Netflix are trying to capitalize off the Holocaust.
No, this is not a joke. This is not a stretch of the imagination. And no, I’m not putting a read-more on this post because it deserves a full look-through. This is happening in Lithuania, right now, where Netflix has turned a former Nazi prison into a Stranger Things themed hotel.
Yes, you read that right. Just a quick Google search will confirm its existence. The Lukiškės Prison in Vilnius, Lithuania is a former Nazi prison. In a country that already tries to erase it’s involvement with the Holocaust (I’m still talking about Lithuania), this offense is particularly egregious.

It has come to the attention of the Jewish and Rroma community that the new season for Stranger Things was filmed in the Lukiškės prison in Lithuania. Though having functioned as a prison centuries before, it became notorious during WWII for it’s Nazi involvement and the kidnapping, imprisonment, and torture of about 100,000 Jews, Rroma, and political prisoners.
To make matters worse, Stranger Things and Netflix have both agreed to turn Lukiškės into a fully functioning hotel, ran by Airbnb, where visitors can spend the night in themed cells, tour the Stranger Things themed building, and make waffles. The price ranges from about €104-114 a night and it was said to start it’s function June 4th.
Fans of Stranger Things are now getting numerical tattoos on their arms because they are inspired by the show, the Stranger Things Instagram has even reposted photos their fans have submitted; thus encouraging their behavior. Not only does this mock the shared trauma of the Jewish and Rroma community, but it further desecrates the living memories of Holocaust survivors (a significant portion are alive today) and their descendants.
Lithuania is already known for their outright denial of their participation in the Holocaust and their allyship with the Nazis. Lithuania turned Seventh Fort, a concentration camp responsible for one of the worst mass killings in Lithuanian history, into a wedding venue. A Nazi prison where Jews, Rroma, and political kid prisoners were kidnapped, starved, imprisoned, and tortured is now a wedding venue.
We refuse to let this continue.
We, Jews and Rroma, call you to sign this petition and hold Stranger Things and Netflix accountable for their Holocaust erasure. Money earned from this season should be put back into the Jewish and Rromani communities of Lithuania as reparations for the damage this season is causing and a public apology from Airbnb, Netflix, and Stranger Things should be issued immediately with a full understanding as to how this adds to the erasure of the victims of the Holocaust and the ongoing persecution of Romani communities. We also demand the immediate shut down of the Airbnb.
We will not be erased. The Holocaust is not for the entertainment industry to build wealth off of and turn into theatre. It is our genocide and for Rroma it is ongoing.
We hope to reach out to current Jewish and Rroma communities in Lithuania in hopes of help for accountability. Either way, sharing this petition, signing it, and donating to the Jewish and Romani organizations and charities below would be a great help! Thank you!

I’m honestly fucking appalled that the greater LGBT community is dead silent on the fact that the Indian Child Welfare Act is going under review which means that white people are finalizing their steps at complete genocide against us (Native peoples). They will sterilize all Natives and steal our babies to be raised by you demons (white people). I’m sure the gays are silent though because how many white gays adopt children not of their own race. Fucking baby stealers.

Abortions should be legal and safe
Healthcare needs to be free
This isn’t even really about politics anymore, because if you disagree on any of these points, our views and moral compasses are so fundamentally different that I want nothing to do with you.
