I'm thinking about hibernating for a week. No posting art or checking stuff, just resting cause it's the beginning of the year and I still need a nap. December has been the busiest month of 2022 for me and I NEED downtime or else nothing is happening the rest of the year.

Now that I'm saying this out loud I'm probably not gonna all of that, cause my brain likes doing the opposite of what I say sometimes.

I'm absolutely heartbroken. I love this mans work and I've looked up to him for years. He was my idol and inspiration for getting into art, I'm not talking just dbz art I mean art as a whole. He inspired me so much that I went to art school.

Idk what else to add. On a personal level, this is just one more thing to solidify 2024 being a shit year, and I want the year to be over already.

How many times do I need to post on this blog to stop the bots?

I get 4 to 5 bot follows a day and it drives me NUTS.

This is kind of a BS/DBAU blog. More so a BS one right now cause that one troll kept going at me about Frieza, which is kinda funny cause I was getting the vibe they wanted me to start screaming and crying about the character and show. Honey, it's a cartoon who cares. I do care about the 18 under shit though, you kids are creepy and gross go away.

AI art isn't Art.

You can use it on your own art to expand on what you made and see if you can or should change or add anything.

That's how it should be used. It should be used by Artists.

Not AI "artist"

Typing a description into a machine and having it pop out images isn't art.

Typing description into a machine and having it pop out a story isn't art.

Art is human expression, Art is a human thing.

AI art is just a program generated image or letters of mashed up pieces of human art.

There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue! 

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product. 

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases. 

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.
