regarding all the stuff about graphics drivers, I was trying to fix a problem with 1.7.10 modded MC where the screen would turn one color after joining worlds (I've since solved this with one specific mod, though)

the thing about straws was because of me having gotten my wisdom teeth removed on May 7th
