But can we infer what level of heart activity he's adjusting himself to from how purple his fingers are?

For example, not much purple - prepping himself for performance.

For example, a lot of purple - an attempt to calm himself down by forcibly lowering his heart rate.

IS THIS WHY HE DOESNT HAVE PURPLE FINGERS IN MODERN AU ART?

HE NEVER WENT THROUGH THE HEART RATE TRAINING SO HE WASNT LEFT WITH A HEART CONDITION AND/OR DOESN'T FORCIBLY KEEP HIS HEART RATE LOW ENOUGH FOR HIS FINGERS TO PURPLE?

^ that's the blazing core of this art piece and what originated the entire idea. As soon as I read the new page I knew with absolute certainty I'd have to draw this freak, but my original fuzzy idea was nowhere near as cool as this basically divine spark of inspiration I got one morning less than a week ago. It's really rare for an art idea to come to reality so fast for me! I streamed myself working on this, that may have sped things up <3 Things that were particularly important for me to convey in this one were Andia's disdainful look half-covered by hair, the sword's tip touching the Void pendant, and Fana's eyes being more open than they'd usually ever be… I'm really happy with how it turned out.
