Okay, take it out of nowhere, but Ares totally understand Apollo’s hate for Achilles, cause he was the same whit Heracles. Heracles killed a LOT of Ares’s children (some by accident) . And Achilles murdered a LOT of Apollo’s children ( don’t get me start talking about Troilus).
So, for me, even if Ares and Apollo aren’t the best siblings, they, at least, hold each other’s backs when it comes to children lost. Not like siblings, but like two dads that are both tired of losing their kids, to some so named “ Hero”
Ares: Love is weakness and an evolutionary mistake. Apollo: You are literally making a Valentine’s day card for Aphrodite. Ares, pointing his hot glue gun towards Apollo: You’re on thin fucking ice.
Percy’s “you’re gonna find out” to Ares ohhhhh holy shit
(Ik I’m late lmao 💀)
Growing up with Conduct Disorder is reading Percy Jackson as a kid and knowing you’re a child of Ares
Athena is the goddess you call on when you have strength and courage, and need her wisdom to guide you.
Ares is the god you call on when your strength and courage fail, and you need his passion to drive you

percy only remembered three things when he lost his memory in SoN:
his name
his girlfriend
his beef with ares
No university, no program, no opportunity can infix in you a desire for furtherance if there is none, to begin with.
Mirror mirror why do you show
The train that can’t be coming that slow
I feel the rumbling under my feet, in my bones and in my teeth
Mirror mirror why do you lie
Showing me a girl when I can’t fly
I feel the ache, the tears and all I’ve ate
Mirror mirror why have you forsaken me
Why don’t you show me what I could see
I see your cracks and blood and flack
Mirror mirror what have you done
What can I do to make us one
I see them here, dead and free
Why do I see them in your face, but only death stares in my place
Hi! Op Loki here in the explain-inator! Welcome those who are curious enough to step foot into the ‘keep reading’ box! I suffer from insomnia and occasional hallucinations during said insomnia episodes, which often can be somewhat useful in helping me pinpoint which part of my mental state caused this little bout of insomnia. Recently (for when I wrote this) I’ve been suffering from bodily autonomy issues due to my education’s strict policies and many people demanding my time and effort for their own conveniences. I usually have a hard time saying no to these people because they’re usually closer to me, and it got to the point where it was like ‘hold on a minute, this is *deadname*, not Legion/Loki’. When I thought about myself. And, well, the hallucination wanted to highlight the unstoppable passage of time, my autonomy issues, and the inherent dysphoria that comes with being LGBT in general. And, to do that, it chose time, mirrors, and vampires. But who am I to question- would this be Apollo? Thanks, Apollo, ik I’m still new to worship, but this helped. A lot. And Ares, for giving me the strength to fight.
I Will™️ make more
(I’d you can’t read my handwriting, it’s Ares, Hera, Dionysus, Hades, Hephaestus, then Phobos+Deimos in order)
You'd take a look at his body and assume he was boasting his invulnerability and strength, and then you take a look at his face and you see nothingness incased in gold and a blood red plume matching the cloak around his shoulders. He is literally depicted as an Everyman, someone for soldiers to strive to be, and yet is faceless so he could be anybody. He's faceless in the war of the gods, a soldier's pawn in the games of his generals. And sure, he is somewhat shown to have his own will in myths, the Net and Jar ones for example, those both ended with him being bound and either mocked or forgotten about. He is the perfect image of the perfect soldier, faceless and yet intimidating, able to survive battle and yet follows orders to the tee because he knows what happens when he doesn't. And the cloak around his shoulders and neck paired with the golden protections around his wrists, forearms, and shins mostly have always screamed a bit 'shackle' to me with its placement. Like he's constantly being reminded of his failures by the very armor he's wearing- though it is limited. An aggressive figure to send into battle, and yet cowed at its master's beck and call with chains of its very own reliance. One that is dehumanized by the very thing that keeps it safe, and yet is shown off by the lack of safety almost everywhere else. The blood red on its plume and cloak reminding those around it of what it is capable of, and that it's not doing that to them because the master has not willed it.
But, maybe I'm just tired
(I wrote this at like 3 in the morning, I’m sort of its bad)

Me studying for exam but EPICs keep playing in my mind so I post this just to calm down my nerve:)
I love the idea that the Gods are closed siblings, some being biased and willing to fight just for nothing
I mean it is canon bats love to sleep in big piles. With the bonding between humans and gnawers in the last book, a big sleepy pile with Ares, Aurora, Ripred, and Nike isn't impossible.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a devotee of the Greek God Ares, Lord of war, rebellion, civil order, the protection and sacking of cities, etc etc fun times etc. I practice my religion in a mostly-reconstructionist fashion and therefore strive to be as historically accurate as reasonably possible.
I also happen to be female.
I mention this because I’ve seen a disturbing trend lately where people seem to be under the impression that Ares is a misogynist, or a rapist, or abuses or neglects or resents women or Goddesses. What I find particularly unfair about this belief is that not only is it completely false, but to the contrary, Ares is probably one of the most women-accepting of all the Theoi, the Greek Gods. More accepting, in fact, than several of the Goddesses.
So kindly allow me to take a moment and utterly debunk it.
Note: you may consider this post my standing challenge for anyone who thinks they can show that Ares hates women or rapes women or whatever to come to me, Soloontherocks, and try to prove it. But you’d better bring evidence.

Opinion of the day: Mythological inconscistencies apart, i think Disney cooked on some gods drawings for Hércules the Animated Series.
Ok so I know Greek mythology is really old but I’m just gonna accept this as canon now <3
I swear in every single version of their myth things are real messy- so yeah boom! JUST GET MARRIED YALL ALL THREE OF YOU! Things are platonic with Hepheastus but I like to imagine the other two jokingly make corny flirty jokes at him just to mess with the grumpy forge cat. And once again, honest conversation and polyamory saved the day.
you’ve caught their attention…
tried to do a study of @duckysprouts wonderful art!
