Your gateway to endless inspiration
Yay we are now at the end of the year with new paperssss lol.
I must say that the previous watercolor papers I’ve been using was a little bit of a bummer because they don’t hold that much water compared to other papers. It kinda led me into doubt that maybe I wasn’t meant to watercolor but it has resolved now after buying a new one after a year *BIG RELIEF*
So much trust in those papers, it said 190 g/m2 D:
Anyway, I’m back with goals and meaningful comebacks haha. As what I have said in my 2015 goal is to post EVERY month of my progress, aaand I let you down on that. But still, I've promised myself that watercolor will be my medium for this year so here it goes :)
First months:
I think I was using more color than water like acrylic hehe.
Hopelessness started around here. Read/looked up on various ways on watercoloring and they said that it uses less color and more water making it very light. So I tried it and it looked like a colorful puddle ;_; See how it doesn’t hold much water ;_;
I felt sad and all so I played watercolor a bit on regular paper (of course I had to paint an eye, I love eyes). I guess I was lucky that it turned out to be Elsa I was painting haha (on regular paper ;_;).
Again I tried and this time I used less water and less paint. It was hard but it turned out nice, but you could still see water-y parts though.
Then Inktober came and decided to join. It wasn’t fully watercolor.
School came along during the later months but I had to do something > <
It was not ‘til early December I replaced my watercolor paper since the only available one here is Pheonix (Berkeley and Canson is here now whyyy). I told someone to get a Canson/Berkely for me since she was in Manila that time.
Tried again, this time less paint and more water.
Seeee??? I was sooo satisfied ;_; I thought I was gone with painting for good, turns out it was the paper’s fault. The anxiety was gone for good. ;_;
What I Learned:
Watercolor need suuuper patience
Watercolor is soft, and subtle as clouds in the sky
Quality over quantity (especially materials *_*)
Don’t lose track of what’s important. :)
Today is the 30th of December 2015 (Rizal Day wohooo), a little bit windy but I’m looking forward to next year’s adventure. :)
Hopes & Dreams,
