POPPY PLAYTOWN (SMILING CRITTERS ICONS)

(Yeah, the name is awfull, but that's what there is-).

Well, I still reserve the lore and structure of the au, but in simple words it is a= no humans, no experiments, just the characters from which the toys are inspired in a world where the toys are THE living beings; and in an environment similar to a Ghibli film(including magic, technology and of course... WAR-).

With SC! icons there is not much to explain, of course; except for the review that Hoppy and Catnap had, more than anything because she was not satisfied with the first design.

Yeahh... about that Smiling Critter AU...

(i'm the only one who organizes them by color? Yeah? Ok).

This Alternative universe it's very simple=

Imagine toys from playtime CO. in a universe where they are characters in a world of a construction similar to the Ghibli films (and since the idea began with the SC, I will publish them first, more or less explaining their roles later).

Do not confuse; They may not be the monsters of the game universe, but they are still PRETTY big=

(because you can't see the details from afar, captures of all of them up close)

Finally got around to finishing the rest of the Smiling Critters! I’m happy with how they turned out!

Introducing loficrafty

So this is logi crafty this little thing took about 18 hours and 50 minutes to make over a pireod of a month and a half because of work, medical reason and other things happening in my life

This was inspired by Lofi girl and Lofi boy because I saw Lofi girl wrighting and it gave me craftycorn vibes

@qibsichan help me making this little goober because I don’t know how to do lighting and help me figure out how to do things correctly because even though I use Ibispaint I’m still learning how to use it because I’m not big brained

Here some behind the sceans work of this work there is small changes you can pick out and tumbler won’t let me post pass 10 pics to show the rest of it but thanks to @qibsichan again for helping and teaching me though ibispaint to make this good

There's a new toy on board! Introducing BigNap! (Unless a more eloquent name is suggested!)

Sarificed for research and condemned to an unsustainable body, Theodore Grambell's old body has melted away at the hands of Miss Delight and Harley Sawyer. His mind has been reignited in a different vessel - one twelve feet tall and with the power to tear a school bus in half.

But it's alright, because while BigNap may be vengeful and venomous, he's quite the dear little kitty to those dang Smaller Bodies in the Playcare.

So much so that he's introduced in the very first chapter of Destroy-A-Toy! It's underway!

Now, Bigger Bodies Catnap's question is:

(He asks because his debut is in the very first story for DAT and therefore his formatting must be worked out.)

How This Creature Works

Big Catnap, as colloquially named by the Critters, children and teachers of the Playcare, is the new-and-improved replacement for that old, faulty thing who cried too much. He is twelve feet tall and an absolute tank - if you ignore the protruding ribcage and ominous growling stomach.

Appearance

The same as the Catnap found in the original Poppy Playtime. Big Catnap is a large, scrawny creature with a protruding spinal chord and disconcerting slices of ribcage jutting from his paper-thin skin. His eyes are minuscule and set deep into mouth-like sockets. His fur is abyssal-dark felt soft to the touch.

Deep inside his throat, if one were to look, pipes could be found. Who knows what they produce?

Personality

Quiet, docile and allegedly "friend-shaped" (according to my friend Foxfire), this Catnap looks like he can kill you but is in fact a cinnamon roll. At least, to people he likes. Otherwise you can expect yourself to be on the plate.

BigNap is possessive over the Playcare children and loving towards toy experiments - but has a VERY strong hostility to humans. This is an issue because of the upcoming Toy Tour…

Theodore gasses the children not out of obligation but out of concern for their health and sleep.

Biology

A creature of this size requires LOTS of food. The problem is - he isn’t given the correct amount. Why drain resources for an experiment that may not survive anyway? As such, Big Catnap is constantly just one bite off from a full belly.

His tank possesses MUCH greater quantities of poppy gas - however, it’s watered down. The gas:

Takes up to 10 minutes to knock out children and 30 for adults

Does not leach oxygen

Works slowly but surely to lull the victim to sleep

This is NOT how Smaller Bodies Catnap works. Her smoke is quick-working and oppressive while this Catnap works much more as a calm, steady, peaceful lull to sleep.

Wears sunglasses 24/7 to hide his eyes

Not self-confident; fragile and traumatised

Jealous and nervous around able-bodied people

Paranoid and claustrophobic

Swears that she saw Catnap dragging a body

Sticks to Kickin constantly and helps him walk

Wants to bodybuild and learn self-defence

Still very anxious

Dating Bobby, sticks to her like glue

Defends Catnap’s memory but will break down in tears

Sticks to only painting happy things, avoids the memories of the fire

Paranoid that people are expecting him to do things he can’t do

Finds it difficult to concentrate and calm down

Often found alone frantically cramming knowledge in case he “needs” it

The only one who seems mostly unscathed

Nervous around using fire in the kitchen

Brings up her admiration for Catnap in casual conversation

Sometimes forgets that the incident even happened

And finally…

Completely separated from the other Smiling Critters

No longer considers herself as part of them

Aches when thinking of Dogday and therefore tries to distract herself

Anxiety is gone
