SPOILERS FOR DRST MANGA

Listening to Laufey's "Loveseick" while imagining a segen edit where it was a failed mission to the moon RIPPED me onto pieces, TORE me straight through my heart, and left me there to dearly DIE.

I hate/love how my brain works sometimes

Returning to the "Destabilized Bill"-

It's one of my versions of Bill (in construction-) that I imagined because I love drama ⛷️ (quick explanation with some ugly sketches-)

It's basically where Bill and Steve get pulled into another dimension (kidnapping) after the destruction of Euclydia.

The dimension they arrive at is one where the Axolotl is not in control (or something like that), and there is a version of the Theraprism where they keep beings from different worlds captive to "experiment" with them. That's where Bill and Steve ended up.

In short, Bill becomes Steve's protector, being the one who suffers most of the torture and other things in that place, to keep Steve unharmed enough until they find a way out.

(Plus it was a slight deal he made with the scientists, who only accepted it because Bill is really the only one who is "special" because of his powers. They used Steve as "bait" to get Bill to let himself be captured.)

That's how they ended up like this

The crack that was caused near Steve's eye caused some negative effects on his vision. He sees blurry, but he sees. On the other hand, he has some burns and electrocutions in one of his corners and arms and legs. And he has developed a few (many) traumas.

As for Bill, and to a more worrying degree than Steve, his cracks are getting bigger and bigger, but his power gives him a small advantage to keep him and Steve stable enough.

The bandages on his hands aren't because he's a boxer or anything. It was a... slight adjustment by the scientists, for discipline

maybe.

And as for his black eye, no, it's not because he's going into Kill mode. It ended up like that because of a minor incident with the scientists, those who went a little overboard with the testing of one of the experiments.

After a long time they manage to get out, but I'm still thinking about that part of the story, and everything in fact. Cry

The way my first thought when i saw the Wicked Grape for the first time was "MASQUERADE THEATRE LADY" and the second was "her and Dimentio should meet"

I have a problem with him

And synonyms. So many fucking synonyms.

Being a writer is just 97% googling words to make sure they mean exactly what you always assumed they meant.

Oof.

When I was a (unmedicated, undiagnosed ADHD) kid, like, under 12, my room was a mess all the time. Not shocking.

I struggled keeping it clean.

I struggled getting it clean.

I would sincerely put in quite a bit of effort and be really proud of the progress I made. Then one of my parents would come check and see how I was doing.

"Well, you've still got a long way to go."

That sentence. I was like, 11 when my parents were saying that to me. It was crushing. All my pride and satisfaction with my work was completely gone. All my effort was worthless to them. All they saw what everything I didn't do.

At the age of ELEVEN, I knew that wasn't right. That wasn't fair. I swore to myself I would never invalidate someone's work like that.

Now, at 30, I catch myself thinking 'I cleaned up, but my apartment is still so messy.' and I flashback to standing in my bedroom as a child, hearing those fucking words from my parents.

'No. I wouldn't invalidate someone else's work. I'm not going to invalidate my own. I did good. I made progress.' and I'll list the things that I DID get done to myself.

You deserve credit for all the progress you make.

You deserve credit for all the work you do.

It doesn't matter how much work you have left.

What you accomplish, no matter how small, counts. Even when what you accomplished was taking a day to rest and recharge and give yourself a break.

Never let anyone invalidate your work. Not even you.

Astarion says those lines when he helps your fallen character in battle (romanced and/or friend depending on the lines).

He may be half-joking here, or maybe not at all, but in any case, I find it interesting that he already calls himself a hero and saviour (even ironically) when he helps you. And it made me think a lot. (And maybe I'm overthinking all this but eh... the brain-rot is real).

Because, beyond the possible irony of those "hero/saviour” labels, it says something about the image he has of himself while your adventures unfolds.

During the Tieflings' party, he's quite loud about not enjoying being a hero. He wasn't particularly fond of the idea of saving the Grove in the first place anyway.

Same with the Gnomes in the forge, saving them isn't his priority, to say the least.

After all, why would he play the hero when no one, in 200 years, has ever even tried to save him. Neither heroes, nor gods.

So I was thinking about how Astarion came to realise that not only you care about him, but that he too cares enough about you to want to help/save you.

Does you adventures together slowly make him understand that he can save you, as much as you can save him?

After all, quite early in Act 1, you can tell him that you agree to watch each other's back.

And he approves.

I want to believe that this "deal" is the first step toward his acknowledgement: he can protect and get some protection. It starts as a kind of transaction, but gradually, it's not about mutual benefice anymore. After a while, he wants to help/protect, as much as you want to help/protect him, as friend or a lover.

And of course, it paves the way to the epilogue (spawn Astarion, not romanced). 

And it's beautiful.

He made it all the way from resenting heroes for not saving him, to becoming a hero himself - the kind of hero he decides to be.

And I am wondering... the fact that he can protect you, did it affect his own self-esteem? making him realise his own worth? As a fighter, but also as friend or a lover, as someone one can rely on...

Did it make him realise that he too can become his own hero, his own saviour?

That without Cazador's power over his body, he has everything in him to save himself?

Ok this is the best that I came up with, in my mind it makes sense (???)

I tried to think who could match grover's vibe and also keeping percy and grover's best friends relationship, so I was looking more for one of the Hispanics since they are closer to roier, but I'm not sure... maybe mariana ???

Idk felps was the first I could think of, he just gives me grover vibes
