It's a real pleasure to be a painter in the age of the internet and have the privilege to participate in such a highly creative and productive fandom like ours.
I love each and every one of you that wrote or drew things about Good Omens and our Ineffable Idiots.
Neil Gaiman would be so proud
Work in progress for a Discord holiday exchange. So excited about this one!
Aziraphale's Dream

aziraphale's dream
--------------------------------------- Aziraphale got a Kindle and began reading weird Amazon epub erotica, then started having kinky dreams about Crowley as a naga. HERE I GO PAINTING SNAKE SHIT AGAIN. Painted for the fabulous legal_chipmunk_2095 as part of the GOAD Secret Santa exchange. Chipmunk wanted snakey Crowley and monsterfucking, so I obliged.
Come celebrate the holidays in true Good Omens After Dark style, with filthy lyrics about our favorite angel and demon set to familiar tunes on GOAD's very first holiday album.
Seasonal secretions include "The 12 Days of GOADmas" (featuring a panoply of bird calls), "Satan Baby," "The Dildo Song," and "We Wish You a Soggy Christmas."
Be sure to secure your headphones in tight: this album ain't safe for work or polite family functions.

i have brought her laughing (to my quietly dreaming garden) ------------------------------ The scene: A smoky, velvet-lined speakeasy smudged carelessly somewhere in the pocket of a roaring, glittered New York City, 1924, nighttime. Prohibition is on, but the law books never really dissuade anyone from getting a drink, not if they know where to go. It sure as Hell doesn't stop Crowley from taking her Angel out for a drink, because Aziraphale wanted one. And hey, it's the jazz age, Crowley knows where to get weed again.
This painting is one half of a collaboration I did with my dear friend @thescholarlystrumpet, who wrote a fantastic companion piece on AO3 (Rated M, mind the drug use tag).
“I got something else to liven up your final night in town. If you’re feeling a little… daring.” Crowley looked sidelong at Aziraphale and arched one penciled-on brow. Aziraphale wiggled happily and slid off the stool to sidle closer, until her head was practically on the Demon’s bare shoulder. “Do tell.” Crowley tried not to shiver as she could feel the Angel’s breath against her heated skin, smell the heady potpourri of perfume, wine, and a pinch of ethereal sweat, taste it on her (currently unforked) tongue. She held up the expertly rolled joint between two fingers accented by red painted talons. “It’s been a very long time, I think, since we really… indulged.” Turning her head just so, nearly nose to nose with her friend. “Don’t you think we’ve earned it?” “Why, you wicked temptress,” Aziraphale murmured, her voice low and slightly breathless, sly smile belying any hint of admonishment.

This is a fun thing I did for @vavoom-sorted-art's (Zoey's) Draw This in Your Style for her 5000 Followers celebration!
Zoey's original after the jump!
Zoey's original challenge piece:

Oh! This is so pretty! Look at Crowley's hair! And the sunlight! Beautiful art.

WE'RE GOING TO SOUTH DOWNS, BABY.
Second pass on my previous sketch, using a mirror for reference on the faces this time around (last time was photo). Trying to keep the shapes looser and get the expressions natural. My default sketch style feels too rigid sometimes, so I'm trying to improve on that.
The original, a little too stiff in the posing and def too tortured on the expressions, imo.
A sketch of the Ineffable Boyos for a collab I'm doing with a dear friend and author.
Saturday progress on my current Ineffable Wives WIP.

Fem Aziraphale with 🌟actual line art🌟
Oh, this is so soft and lovely. What a wonderful piece of art.
I'm a sucker for The Starmaker's angelic squiggle of curls on top of his head.

DRAMA!CROWLEY, ACTIVATE!
So we meet here again, in front of another flaming-as-anything-ginger Crowley. We can't keep doing this, you know. People will talk.
More info and hi res under the jumpppppppppppp.
I wanted to try my hand at a standalone portrait of Crowley before I jump back into what will inevitably be another Aziracrow portrait---I'm thinking 1920s theme. Flapper Crowley & Aziraphale? But that's for another time.
I wanted to try grey scale under-painting in digital art. A success, I hope? I'm pretty happy with the portrait (for now, give it a week and I'll hate everything about this painting, happens every time!)
I struggled a bit on the eyes in this piece. I normally paint straight color to canvas, so I have a method to my madness with painting eyes. Not so, here! This was new territory. I'm not 100% satisfied, but that just means I need more practice.
ALSO, GOLGOTHA HAIR WITH A BRAID WHAT WHAAAAAT
And because I learned how to paint snake scales for the last portrait, I decide to reprise that theme and torture myself again keep practicing them, this time with iridescence. I wanted to keep the scales low-key, though, almost as if they're just emerging or maybe the viewer caught a momentary glimpse of scales through the veil to an ethereal occult plane. Additionally, I wanted some good creepy claw hands with long fingernails (big fan of creepy, me) for a proper demonic manicure.
About: All digital, all Photoshop. Orig. 7200 x 5400 px. ~1 week of off-and-on painting. Title is taken from Reptile by Nine Inch Nails because I guess I'm still naming art after 30 year old albums? Is this a thing I do, now?
...and if so, can you imagine what I'll have to draw to use lyrics from Hurt in the title?
Every time I draw a Crowley.
help me, you tear down my reason

This is my ransom note to Neil Gaiman love letter to the ineffable idiots and the Gomens fandom. There will undoubtedly be more because I caught the brain rot so bad.
More info and high res below the jump.
Scaly semi-snek flaming-like-anything-ginger freckled Crowley because why not? I wanted to mess around with a very pale, slightly creepy color palette for skintones, so this was a good exercise. And anyway, I could draw DT's glorious swan-like neck every day for the rest of my life and never grow weary of it.
Michael Sheen's nose --hell, his profile in general--will be my undoing. He is SUCH a challenge to draw, which I adore. I used quite literally 4x the references for 'Zira than for Anthony Janthony.
About: All digital, all Photoshop, baby. Orig. 4483 x 5391 px. ~2 weeks of off-and-on painting when I got tired of my work art. Title is taken from Closer by Nine Inch Nails because I pretty much exclusively listened to The Downward Spiral on repeat while I worked on this piece, because that's the kind of angsty teenage headspace I'm in??? I'm fucking 34 years old, I thought I was past this.
Full on internal screaming when they bump into each other accidentally during Regency England.
Much external bickering. And telling people to go fall off their horses.
Everyone else absolutely gets the (right) wrong idea.
i feel prime has invested too much into gomens rk cancel s3 even w neil gaiman being a shit person…
i just hope that terry’s sorry can be finished and then we can pretend gaiman was a figment of our imagination bc i saw on twt another victim cam foreword this weekend and i havent seen anything ab it.
i hate the thought of terry’s legacy could be tainted by gaiman :(
I can't believe so many Good Omens fans and content creator are being guilt tripped into dropping the book and show as a whole in fear of being seen as a Neil Gaiman apologist, it is completely fine to separate art from the artist people have been doing it for YEARS ( see harry potter, miraculous ladybug etc. ) If it's a purely personal choice then I understand but if people are doing it out of fear of being judged then that's a problem. Also is everybody just gonna leave out the fact Terry Pratchett also wrote the book? It wasn't just Neil. We can still support the amazing person and writer that was Terry, the performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant plus everybody else that was involved in the making of the show. Stop giving Neil ALL the credit.
