A/N: I love Karlach so much she is such baby girl anyways! I writing this for my soul and other Karlach lovers such as me :) this also takes place after you fix her infernal engine problem.
You and Karlach had been dating for a while now and after dealing with her infernal engine and she wouldn’t turn you to charcoal the second she touched you she loved being able to hold you. Holding your hand, giving you a simple hug, kissing you, she loves all of them she loves having someone else’s arms around her instead of just her own holding herself. That also came with cuddles at night which was normal and happened almost every night, except for tonight now you were known to have nightmares even before the parasite was in your head, you never really told anyone because most the time it wasn’t to bad. Sometimes though it was night terrors and those would cause you to wake up in a cold sweat, shaking, and looking around with your eyes filled with fear and worry for your own safety. Sadly tonight was one of these nights, you were peacefully sleeping in Karlach’s muscular arms feeling her body heat, when your dream suddenly did a transition to a nightmare your worst fears all surrounding you, tormenting you.
You woke up shaking and in a cold sweat this caused you to find comfort in your sleeping girlfriend, you cuddled closer, holding on to her tighter this woke Karlach up enough to feel you shaking.
“Solider?” She looked down a bit to see your face and saw the panic in your eyes.
“Mhm.”
“What happened solider? You need me to kick some asses?”
This caused you to chuckle at your girlfriend’s antics “No it’s fine it was just a nightmare scared me.”
“Ah! don’t worry solider you’re safe with me!” She hugged you from the position your were in which was undoubtedly comforting.
This made you smile and at least feel safe enough knowing you had someone to protect you if something did happen. You closed you eyes to go back into your peaceful slumber, the warmth of her body also bringing a source of comfort to you. You feel asleep not long after sleeping peacefully the rest of the night with Karlach by your side as it would stay. You knew the next morning you would wake up to a hyper Karlach ready to start whatever adventure came that day on your journey to get rid of the tadpoles in your heads. That could wait till the morning though right now you were enjoying peaceful sleep with no nightmares.
Karlach being a lovely, sunny person who can and does unleash brutal violence. And that violence is a very important part of who she is and is not uncomplicated. She's proud of it but also she was taken advantage of because of it; her body is her weapon but also her body is falling apart. She's so optimistic, she's so terrified of death, she will make the best of the time she has, she will fight tooth and nail to survive, she is content, she is desperate, she may or may not have gone a decade without reading a book, she is SO touch-starved, she swears like a sailor. Her teddy bear's name is Clive.
I never knew I needed Karlach getting excited over my favorite animal until now 🥰 🐸
After 10 years locked in the hells, little things like frogs are mesmerizing. Karlach 100% made the group stop every time a cute critter appeared on their journey.

I was worried that their frustrations/trauma could make things impossible for them, but they're actually soooo sweet together ><

I love the camp gossip but do wish companions would interact with each other more... so I'm gonna draw it!!! I think Karlach and Astarion gotta have the most contrasts between their characters but one bit I like especially is touch starved vs touched out.
The dialogue Astarion has with Karlach after killing Cazador and refusing to ascend is doing things to me.
