Your gateway to endless inspiration
Hello ladies and gents and welcome to my dumb brain struggling to actually step out of my comfort zone here and write characters I usually don’t write so forgive the possible cringe u.u’’
Furthermore I am a moron who is unable to use a calendar and I confused the dates of DaiSuga Week with the ones for this event, so these come a bit late and will be continued irregularly, but here is a masterpost for my contributions to the @spikersetterweek!
More info on each day below the cut - the stories are generally rated Gen, though some might drift a bit in the direction of Teen And Up - no Mature or Explicit content though! // PLEASE NOTE: As of posting this blog, I have not yet written all the chapters, so the contents are still subject to change!
Day 1 - Struggle - Daichi/Suga They practise for weeks and yet their new synchronized attack just won't work. Sugawara is starting to doubt and works himself to the bone in order to figure out what he is missing.
Day 2 - Swap - Watari & Aoba Johsai Shinji Watari is not a bad setter, but he is no Oikawa Tooru either and in the shadow of a great name and a new friendship the Aoba Johsai first-year has to reflect on his pupose in a new team.
Day 3 - Separation - Hanamaki & Oikawa Hanamaki isn't sure if he believes in fated pairs, but what he definitely believes in is proofing people wrong and rubbing it in their faces afterwards - coincidently so does Oikawa and when they are accused of being useless when separated from Iwaizumi and Matsukawa, they set out to have the most epic day ever... all on their own!
Day 4 - Space - Bokuto/Akaashi (+ Kuro/Kenma) The year is 2168 and humanity has colonized the solar system. Space travel is available for the broad population and a new sport is gaining in popularity: Saturn Surfing. Akaashi Keiji isn’t really into any of this, but a job is a job and so he has to set out in order to sell a new and promising surfer some sponsorship deals - if only he knew that ‘rising star with wild boyish charm’ translates to ‘Bokuto Koutaru’, he would have taken more Ibuprofen on the trip!
Day 5 - Sacrifice - Shirabu & Ushijima (+ Semi & Tendou) Shirabu chose Shiratorizawa for a reason - even the simplest set will lead to victory! And while he was definitly right with that, he still has to discover that relying on an invicible ace does not mean he has to sacrifice his pride as a skilled setter.
Day 6 - Surprise - Koganegawa & Futakuchi (+ Dateko) All Koganegawa wants is for someone to be proud of him. Especially his captain! If only he could figure out how to earn Futakuchi's friendship.
Day 7 - Free Day - Honestly, I have no idea yet

Sneakpeak below the cut:
When Daichi finally gets to settle down several hours later, he is exhausted, sweaty and frankly, he doesn’t know when he last had fun like this!
A few beers loosen up his tension and the music does the rest. He doesn’t even know anymore who dragged him to the dancefloor, but he is gratefulsomeone did. There was a lot of stuff he just had to… move away!
Now, however, his throat is dry and his head is starting to protest against the onslaught of loud music. He’s craving for the calm of the lounge and for a chance to sit down.
Suddenly thirty-three feels incredibly old!
It’s a Friday night and he feels like the place is getting more and more cramped by the minute.
Eventually, he manages to fight his way back into the fourth floor and lets out a relieved breath.
A quick glance into their corner tells him, that Yahaba, Watari and Saru have joined their merry round, then he is intercepted by Iwaizumi.
“Hey, you seen Tooru?”, the other asks him, big jugs of beer in both hands.
“I uh….”, and Daichi turns around, staring down the stairs he just came from. The only other people behind him are Bokuto and Kuro.
“What?”, the latter asks.
“You seen Oikawa?”, Daichi relays.
Both men turn around, look down behind them, mirroring Daichi perfectly. “Odd - could have sworn he was right behind us”, Kuro mumbles.
“Oh I think he got held up by some girls”, Bokuto thinks out loud.
“For fuck’s sake - The damn idiot!”, Iwaizumi grumbles out, then he pushes the beer at Daichi with an unnerved, “Hold this”, and stomps past them to rescue his husband from his fans - is what Daichi assumes.
Now that he has been tasked with the alcohol, Daichi strides with a little more purpose, then he set’s the jugs down on the table in the middle of the couch arrangement.
“Where’s Zumi going?”, Hanamaki asks.
“The knight has set out to rescue the princess”, Kuro poetically explains and a uniform “Aha”, runs through the entire group.
“Hey, where is the rest?”, their supreme bedhead proceeds to ask.
Instead of a verbal answer, Hanamaki simply takes a very long slurp out of a bright pink drink, that looks rather toxic to Daichi and points over to the bar.
The three of them turn to look and it knocks the wind out of Daichi’s sails in one swift blow.
Suga, Akaashi, Kenma, Yaku, the weird redhead and the barkeeper are all gathered where the counter forms a corner, hunched together, apparently having the conversation of their lives, with big grins painting their faces and when the redhead says something, Suga giggles into his hand and Akaashi looks as amused as Daichi may have ever seen him.
In between them, a tablet of shots is standing on the counter and while Akaashi is opening tiny umbrellas, Suga and Yaku are poking olives onto them before placing them in the alcohol. The redhead just sits there, occasionally snacking said olives, Kenma is still deep under in his phone and the barkeeper is preparing another tablet with shots, those ones weirdly reddish.
“The gateway to heaven”, Watari announces.
“More like: The Last Judgement”, Futakuchi corrects him.
“Ah, I know for a fact that three of the judges can be bribed with pop tarts!” , Kuro dismisses that.
New Chapter of ‘An Anthem to Time’ is out - sorry for the long wait, I hope you enjoy.
Summary: The pace picks up and the puzzle of the past begins to unfold.

Hanamaki rarely thinks about what he does, it has always been like that. He is simply an instinct kind of guy.
What he says, what he does, it all follows the impulse his guts give him. Even in court, he never starts a trial with a plan. He likes to see how the mood swings and then just go with the flow, steer his boat into the current that will get him closest to his goals.
That is how he has managed to earn an outstanding reputation as a lawyer, how he never disappoints and never gets disappointed. If you don’t have a fix goal, you can’t miss it!
Especially in his youth, people have criticized him for lacking both spine and motivation and to be totally honest: They were right.
Takahiro isn’t ambitious, he isn’t high-flying and he certainly isn’t pretentious. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be sharp, intelligent or determined.
In fact, he is very determined right now!
“Come on”, he grunts out, putting all his bodyweight into the push.
“This tickles”, Iwaizumi smirks, that arrogant ashole.
“Fu.. fuck you, Hajime”
“Are you even trying?”
Hanamaki chooses not to spit into his face and rather concentrate on breathing.
“This is ridiculous”, he can’t help but whine all but a minute later.
“God, I am getting so horny”, Oikawa has the nerve to bite down on his knuckles. Suga gracefully decides to put his hand over their friends eyes.
“Then think of something gross”, he informs him.
“Like what?”
“Dead animals? How your bleach rails smell in the morning?”, Issei offers and gives his pan an expert swing. The onions fizzle and Hanamaki has to gag.
“Please just shut up”, he whimpers, the muscles in his biceps about to burst. He is going to leave one hell of a gorry splatter on Issei’s couch.
“Then hurry and get this over with, Wok is almost done”, his partner calls over.
“With tuna?”, Iwaizumi turns his head towards the kitchen.
“Yes”
“Fuck yeah”, and with his face brightening up like a six year old’s, who has just been given permission to have unlimited candy for an entire week, Iwaizumi slams his hand into the table, like Hanamaki, putting all his effort into fending him off, isn’t even there and declares: “I’m starving!”
Takahiro groans and collapses over his weak and sore arm.
Yes, he follows his instinct but that by no means equals being calm and structured, like some people assume. No, most of the times it gets him into stupid, messy and fucking glorious situations. Like not being able to beat his friend at armwrestling in over 16 years and still not being able to give it up.
