"Ugh why are they so awkward they literally fought a ghost together." Hm I wonder why a socially awkward kid who's been so isolated from his peers that he believed the only way he could make friends was with ALIENS and a girl who's had bad relationship experiences with men would feel awkward talking to each other after they no longer have to literally be near each other 24/7. Truly a mystery.
So I watch DanDaDan dubbed and I feel like the way they translated stuff like honorifics is really impressive
You've got Okarun referring to Momo as Miss Ayase which holds the same connotation that him referring to her as Ayase-San does but it doesn't feel out of place because he's a big nerd and it makes sense that a guy like him would use a more formal way of speaking to someone he respects.
Then you get so used to hearing him call her that that when he uses Turbo Granny powers and straight up calls her Momo you get taken aback and immediately notice his more casual way of speaking and also get a slight sense he's being rude similar to how it'd be if you just use someone's first name in Japanese.
The voice acting is also top notch. 👌🏽
"Omg Dandadan's so crazy cause it's about a guy's junk getting stolen lol" no bitch it's crazy cause there's a sick ass fight scene with the main character riding on her bf's back piggyback style while he's sprinting for his life from a giant crab while FUCKING WILLIAM TELL OVERTURE IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND
Absolutely. Momo even uses the same kick on the aliens that she used on her boyfriend when he tried to get forceful with her. It doesn't matter if you're a stranger or someone's partner you're the same type of bad person if you try to do something without their consent.
I think a lot of people are used to SA scenes overly emphasizing the victim's powerlessness so DanDaDan's portrayal of it might seem like it's too lighthearted in comparison but I don't think that was the intention at all.
Watched episode 4 of DanDaDan today and there's something about Turbo Granny caring for the souls of those poor deceased girls while Momo uses what she learned from her grandmother to help save herself from the alien freaks in the first episode.

as a non-manga reader i thought it was have been hilarious if
mild spoilers for those like me who only watch the show
but i think aira’s infatuation should have shifted to momo after she woke up in her arms
cause it would have been so funny to me
