Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.
This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

My husband Maher and I were living a simple, beautiful life full of peace and security, and we were waiting for our first child.
But October 7 came and since that day we no longer saw comfort or happiness in our lives. We lost our house that we had built a few months before the war with great difficulty so that we could welcome our first born in it and provide him with all the comfort and tranquility he needed.
The brutal occupation demolished our house before we could enjoy it and before we could pay the installments of the debt we had borrowed to build it.
We lived in tents, we lived in poverty, hunger, cold and we experienced all kinds of diseases.
I gave birth to my child in difficult circumstances when I was escaping from the bombing that was next to us and I fell and had severe bleeding and had to have a caesarean section in order to save my child’s life.
All the dreams I had drawn with my husband and child became a nightmare that haunts me. I was unable to provide a decent life for him because of the devastating war and high prices.

My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza
My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.
The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.
I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.
Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.
I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.

I'm a trans guy, and for the last year I've been trying to get top surgery! And I finally have a date for it! [Jan 7th!!!] but I live with my stepdad whos really emotionally abusive and manipulative- He takes 1/3 of my paycheck a month as "rent" even though I'm only 18 and just got a full time job. I'm also disabled [the bones in my feet are crooked so it sort of messes me up] which it makes it hard for me to work more than I am, which I'm trying to do. I'm trying to move out after top surgery but between top surgery and my "rent", I don't know if I'll be able to move out.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE Let’s say it’s 6.15pm and you’re going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!! NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE… Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911. So, me and my family are in a dark place right now. My mother just broke down at the table today because of financial problems and it just hurts me seeing her like this. She currently has three businesses that aren't going so well and we're just ashamed of asking other family members for help because we've asked enough. She doesn't want to break their trust because they helped fund the business but no profit is coming out yet.
I want to help. I want to help right now but I don't know what to do. I figured, since I run two art blogs, I should open commissions, right?
