POSEIDON QUIVERS BEFORE HIM!!!

TGCF x Epic au

This might be incoherent and not make any sense because I'm just trying to get this down. For now all I have right now is just Xie Lain and not any other tgcf cast but I'll deal with that later.

Sometime during the end of Xie Lian's 2nd banishment he ends up in the ocean. Originally the plan was just to help some fisherman in exchange for food but a storm hit (just his luck) and he got thrown overboard. Next thing he knows he's waking up on the shore of an unfamiliar land

Logically this makes no sense and considering the world building differences in gods and monsters (ghosts too ig) that tgcf and epic are two separate worlds that Xie Lian just so happens to cross over.

Now for convenience I'm just going to say that Telemachus finds him when returning from some diplomatic mission (not the one from hold them down, we're not that far). Now while I do want XL and Athena to meet, Athena hasn't met telemachus yet. So, Telemachus (somehow) recognizes that Xie Lian is some kind of swordsman (even though he stopped using a sword after what happened in Yong-An, just role with it) and asks Xie Lian if he will train him in exchange for a place to stay. Xie Lian reluctantly agrees because, well, it's been a while since he had a decent meal

Cut to a little bit later (little wolf), Telemachus can hold his own a bit better then in cannon but Athena still steps in and along with quick thought and the bit of training from xl, Telemachus holds his own for a lot longer... though of course some other suitors step in because why would they ever fight fair. So, in steps Xie Lian and they actually win the scuffle (we'll say it wasn't a big group of suitors).

I don't think XL has been there long enough to already get into a fight and I think he knows that if he does try and fight them that it will end pretty bloody

Athena talk to both Telemachus and XL, intrigued by this mysterious fighter who looks to be younger then the prince yet masterfully skilled. I think Athena and Xie Lian would 100% get along, feeling rather similar in the failed teacher aspect. I do also believe that they would exchange information about each others worlds and Athena would convince XL that he should pick up a sword again (I like swords and I like Xie Lian, sue me)

Somewhere down the line XL is able to convince some suitors to become guards instead. They're faith in Antinous bruised after seeing him get beat up by the prince and some random teenager. Perhaps XL even convinces them that Penelope won't ever love them.

Hold them down and Odysseus still happen except they're a lot less because one, Ody has allies and two, less suitors

You might be wondering how XL gets back to his own world. Well, after OdyPen is reunited and safe (no more naughty suitors), Xie Lian’s work is done, he's not exactly needed, which becomes the catalyst first his third ascension (Don't worry about the logistics of Xie Lian ascending to his worlds heaven while in another world.)

For now that's all I got, perhaps more things happen that cause other tgcf cast members to end up in Epic, perhaps the story just goes on as it is without anymore mention of it outside of how it affected xl (and hence affected cannon)

I totally love the idea of this greatly affecting cannon somehow bur it not even coming up until well into post cannon

I may or may not have written a fanfic based on my last post, but i have never written before. And it is probably also confusing? 😅 Idk i still wanted to post it bc i am curious to see what others think! Criticism is welcome but please be nice :).

Whoever is going to kill the suiters is not Odysseus, or at least not the same one.

Whoever will return to Penelope and Telemachus isn’t the same Odysseus who hesitated to kill a cyclops, they aren’t the same Odysseus who escaped Circe’s wrath by talking about his wife.

A monster will return to Ithaca

But Odysseus has already died on the journey to there

Idk if he died at the end of monster, due to different beast, or in those seven years with Calypso, but the Odysseus who heard that prophecy isn’t here anymore.

He has already drawn his final breath.

(Idk if anyone alr tought of this but i started thinking of this at dinner and was like holy shit so i had to share)

I absolutely love the wisdom saga it is amazing.

I know this post is kinda late but school started and life is busy and all that.

Like most of the songs are in my playlist and it is defined my favourite saga so far!

Bro i just finished reading the Odyssey and i swear Telemachus and Peisistratus r quite literally my favourite characters.

Like Nestor went: “Ah hello son of Odysseus, this is my !SINGLE! And !VERY STRONG AND HANDSOME! Son that is coincidentally !AROUND THE SAME AGE AS YOU! And you shall SLEEP IN THE SAME BED AS HIM and he will ACCOMPANY YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY!”

And also in Sparta where Telemachus had to wake up Peisistratus and just kicked him? And Peisistratus was like ‘bro go to bed it is like 3AM’.

Also Telemachus called Peistratus ‘light of my heart’

And Peistratus asked Menelaus about his brother bc he never knew him.

And when Telemachus had to like go back to Ithaka he asked Peisitratus for help since Nestor would try to find a way to make Tele stay and Peisitraus was like:’i got u dont worry!’

They r such underrated characters (which is wild considering Telemachus is quite literally odysseus’ son) .

I am also obsessed with EPIC the musical and i know Peisistratus is probably not gonna appear and that makes me sad bc i like him so much (still very excited for the wisdom saga though bc Telemachus)

Anyways that was my rant, one last message before i go:

i have got it in my mind that the reason Athena came to Telemachus aid so fast was that she was already there. Like I imagine her wanting to see Odysseus, wanting to know he made it home but being to prideful to ask him herself (or simply not knowing where he was) so she thought it best to instead check the palace, hopeful to see him with his family, only to see Telemachus getting ganged up on. And knowing this would never happen with Ody around, she steps in for she now knows that, despite the years, Odysseus is not home and by now the odds that he will get home are very low.

i;m tired idk if that makes sense.

My head canon for Athena

Her helmet represents her trust yet a warning. She wouldnt wear it when facing Ody himself, same as Telemachus after Little Wolf. But since Ody's decision in Remember them, the Helmet was back as she no longer hoped that they would become friends again, until the Wisdom Saga.

In my God Games animatic, I use this head canon to represent Athena's concession towards other gods. She wants to show them how much she cares about her old friend. She could fight, but she chose not to, even against Ares

Odysseus: *Thinking* Servant: Ten are away with the prince, the other ten are keeping guard over Penelope. Odysseus: Why? Servant: They're being bodyguards Odysseus: No, why did they come if they're not seeking the Queen's hand? Servant: Oh, they're trying to convince the Prince to marry their daughters. *Meanwhile* Guard #1: *Watching Telemachus with one of his friends* I'm starting to think the Prince might be swinging the other way. Guard #2: That's alright, I've got a son.
