also I'm deeply enjoying how drastically different the Imperials and Nords see the Dragonborn. like in Nord culture, the Dragonborn is the archrtypical Nord hero and to what all Nords of all stations can and should aspire to, they're a religious and cultural symbol and myth and embodiment of the Old Ways when Skyrim could stand against dragons and come out victorious, when the Nords were the center of human civilization on Tamriel before Skyrim was just another province in the empire.
meanwhile the Imperials hear 'Dragonborn' and think: emperors and conquerors, the imperial bloodline, the very foundation of the state and the religious pantheon. people don't just aspire to be like Dragonborn bc the Dragonborn is basically walking proof of the divine right of kings. Dragonborn to the imperials embodies the dragon part, not the dragon slayer. and more than anything, the Dragonborn is the embodiment of the state itself and the empire's legitimacy.
all of this is to say: both General Tullius and Ulfric Stormcloak must've been over the moons excited for the appearance of the Dragonborn and taken it for granted that the LDB would join their side over the other and give them an unbeatable boost in morale and credibility. meanwhile Rikke, the only one who seems to really, genuinely get both cultures, is just "Ah shit, this is gonna suck."
Okay so I learned from Twitter recently that Verandis was throwing nudist parties and vampire orgies so I can imagine Rada al-Saran got invited to something like that and well– I mean I think he didn’t mind~ (also I hope no ESO dev sees this please you cannot know I drew Disney Rada and tastefully censored Verandis)

Hires Map | Hires Travel Days Map
I wanted to make a note about Skyrim’s geography. I don’t recall where I found it, but someone else estimated that Skyrim was approximately the size of the country Poland. Early on when I started writing “Hero by Mistake”, I calculated distances between landmarks by road travel, and plugging in the maximum distance a horse could travel in a day whether carrying a person or dragging a cart. I am putting this at 16 travel hours per day for Skyrim’s hardy horses – this is twice the max for Earth’s horses, so we’ll blame this on magic, yes? Heh. I estimated how many travel days it would take to reach any given place, more or less. So, I estimated that horse-travel days by road from Whiterun to Windhelm would be about three (in Polish terms, this would be approximately from Bialystok to Lodz). Windhelm to Riften would be about four days byhorse or cart (approximately Bialystok to Rzeszow). Double that time if you’re walking. I don’t know how accurate my calculations are, but at least they’re more accurate than in-game travel!
An easy guide is using the above map of Skyrim. Diagonally, each grid square is one travel day by horse/cart, 1.5-2 days foot travel. If you want to “push” travel time (say, you need to get somewhere RIGHT NOW, extend beyond the grid square slightly). I tried to account for easier road travel, and more difficult travel across rough terrain.
Travelers might make use of landmarks for camp sites, such as huts and monuments. So for instance, one horse travel day could be between Rorikstead and Swindler’s Den, between Karthwasten and Sky Haven Temple, between Ivarstead and Froki’s Shack, or between Morthal and Meeko’s Shack. These distances would be about 2 days of foot travel at the very least.
312 kilometers (aka Windhelm to Whiterun)
Horse travel: 3 days, 16 hours per day, 6-7 km/h, 48 hours total
Fit foot travel: 8 days, 8 hours per day, 4-5 km/h, 66 hours total
Child/family/unfit foot travel: 30-50 days, 3-5 hours per day, 2-3 km/h, 104-156 hours total
Windhelm to Whiterun

Southern Path: Windhelm stables, camp across the river from Cronvangr Cave, cross the river at Mixwater Mill, kill bandits at Valtheim Towers and camp there, camp in or near Stormcloak camp, Whiterun stables - four horse travel days

imagine that a cable to ur microwave broke and right then ur president who is also a god would show up on ur doorstep and instead of of magically making ur microwave work and/or fixing the cable they lay down on the floor and let the electricity pass through them instead while watching u wait till the timer hits its mark so u’d get to eat ur chicken nuggets
imagine that that moment would be written down in history books as sacred and random people started stopping by ur door non-stop and leaving nuggets there in masses

Absent in the official line-up of Smolder Scrolls characters, Verandis now joins my fan ESO series with a big novel!
I’m trying work on stuff but it just feels like I move so dang slow. I want to start making more comics ;_; Here’s some quick and utterly shameless Nerevoryn content in the meantime.

Finally, I downloaded all the mods I needed, now I can rest.
Honestly, I didn't think it would be SO tiring. Plus, because I had conditioning on (I'm cooling my computer with it), I have cold fingers right now. But for that I am happy with the new list of mods.
I remember I had to sell something in Riverwood merchant, and when I went inside, the first person I met was Faendal.
And he just stared conversations but standing there and just looking at me.
I said :" Hello."
And he just said :" You were a good friend to me, here take it" and JUST LITERALLY GAVE ME A BOOK LIKE A GIFT.
It was so cute.
I don’t understand why people hate Faendal so much. He’s just your average, upbeat and kind of devious school boy.
Not to mention his line, “I don’t like to brag, but I once took down a bear at three hundred yards…. In a blizzard," is fucking hilarious.
You GuYs are JuSt MeAN-
He don't remember at all. Memory loss is a bad thing.
