no because i'll be having a good day and then remember armand turned daniel into a vampire. 500 year old vamp who never made a fledgling before because the thought 'repulsed' him, drained daniel of his blood and then fed him his OWN blood to complete the transition. and the worst part? it happened OFF SCREEN.
What I love most about the finale is how it shows Louis finally on his own and content. Claudia calls him out for it multiple times, “who are you without me” who is Louis alone, because he never gets a chance to find out between his relationships to his family then lestat then Claudia then armand. Louis is always having to perform a role for those he loves and he has no idea who he is alone. The whole “yes maitre” roleplay with armand divorces him even further from who he is, forcing him back into the role of Louis the pimp.
But instead of going back to lestat Louis decides to be on his own, to fully be himself, and the redecorated apartment full of colour and pictures of Claudia and his brother is a beautiful expression of this.
Oh wow
I fear I will never emotionally recover from this. Thank you.
I had to get Devil’s minion lesbians out of my system.
The number of times I have actually screamed at Daniel's sassy commentary in Interview with the Vampire. The beginning of Season 2, Episode 1 alone is wild. Daniel blasting Louis for spending eight hours talking about "how to avoid the sun and torpedoes" during WWII. Daniel asking Real Rashid, "Where did they send you when Shah Rukh Khan over there was playing you?" Daniel emphasizing in front of Armand that Lestat is Louis' true love (Daniel Molloy the #1 Loustat shipper confirmed). One thing's for sure, Daniel is making this interview an experience for everyone involved. Kudos to him.
ARMAND IN EVERY EPISODE 1.05 A Vile Hunger for Your Hammering Heart
At your divine mercy
picking LINT??? off the SOFA???????
they're just normal men
A moonlit hotel room, just him and the devil 🩸🦇
Do you ever randomly remember that Daniel Molloy is the Vampire Armand's forever one and only fledgling and just go WEEEEEEEEEEEE and start kicking your feet?
The fact that Assad Zaman auditioned for what he thought was just the role of Rashid The Human, then was told “actually, you’re playing one of the main characters, an incredibly complex and fucked up 514yo vampire with layers on layers of deceit 😃 he’s also a fan favorite, no pressure!”, had a little freak out, and then proceeded to give us The Performance of All Time
there's so much fluffy and soft armandaniel and them having beautiful kinky sex and not enough old fledgling daniel and his sire being spiteful, having hate sex and fucking each other up. i need to see these guys trying to bite each other to death first before i can get into the rest
everything reminds me of him (middle aged daniel molloy who gets lost in his work, ignoring his wives and daughters, but can't find anything to fill the void of loneliness generated by something he doesn't even remember)
I think in the future Armand should continue to do his gaslighting, subtle manipulation, narrative weaving, scheming etc except over non-consequential things, and Daniel should just continue to unravel these threads, puzzles, mysteries, lies etc and it’s like foreplay for them.
I dearly love the trope in Devil’s Minion fics where Daniel’s daughters find Armand in his apartment and are immediately concerned that their father is some old creep dating a guy in his twenties. It’s never not funny.
But I started thinking how Armand might view this reaction.
He obviously expected it. To outsiders, his companionship with Daniel looks strange. But I can see him being oddly touched by their sincere concern for him. It would stick with him after they’d left and he wouldn’t immediately know why.
Then later it might hit him: so few people throughout his existence have noticed his age and tried to protect him. Noticed his age, yes, but it was never about keeping him safe. Quite the opposite, and he was much younger then.
Daniel would not harm him, could not harm him, like he’s been harmed before, but so few had ever attempted to intervene when Arun or Amadeo had been repeatedly hurt, if anyone had at all. Daniel could never do to him what had been done in the past, but even the casual worry and judgement from his girls leaves Armand with a sort of ache in his soul he can’t articulate.
There’s also the chance he wouldn’t realise why he felt like that at all. He’s not had the ability to unpack any of his trauma. He’s stuck in it, so the feeling, initially touching, turns to the usual emptiness that feels like a permanent part of him, except it’s deeper than it normally is. He doesn’t know that the feeling is actually a wistful longing for his previous selves to have felt even an ounce of that concern for his wellbeing.
Lestat meeting Lestat
Claudia meeting Claudia
Armand meeting Armand
.......
The stuff of nightmares....I love it!
Book vs Series
Just be clear, the "plotting murder" with Armand is a reference to his inclinations towards homicide in the books. I really like Rashid and I'm very interested in seeing how they adapt Armand's story in this version
WAIT WAIT OKAY- Armand saying "Rest" and having Daniel repeat it before biting him, is insanely similar to Santiago's "No pain" with his victims before they 'accept' death.
hitting the fuckin Daniel pose after all that. i'm supposed to just move on with my week now??
happy pride to whatever the fuck louis, armand, and daniel are doing tomorrow night
claudia and madeleine, armand's backstory, lestat having louis' initials inside his suit pocket (OVER HIS HEART), santiago finding claudia's diary with lestat's last words written in his own blood, daniel and louis misremembering things, THE FUCKING YELLOW DRESS
anyway i need to eat drywall now
quite literally the first thing i thought of when i saw the original
There seems to be an almost fandom-wide agreement that devil's minion happened in the 70s-80s, and while I understand the appeal (and can see some possible hints of it in canon), I have to say that I would find it 100% funnier if Armand fell in love with Old Man Daniel Molloy, #1 Armand hater.
