Leonardo gets ambushed by The Shredder and abducts him. He brainwashed Leonardo into becoming his Foot soldier and has the turtle under his control.

Leonard's Foot Clan attire is based on his IDW counterpart's. Leonard's weapons are twin tantos, wakizashi, and new twin katanas, along with the same weapons that The Shredder carries.

The necklace that leo wears is inspired by electric necklaces. It was designed by Donnie on Splinter's orders because let's say that my Leonardo...is a bit "special" in the aspect that he can be dangerous.

He is the only one of the brothers who does not wear a necklace, because he is Splinter's favorite... But what nobody knows is that he has marks on his neck, so he wears a scarf to hide them.

April did not initially wear a necklace but when she joined the turtles she inherited that necklace (as does Casey).
