I have a Theory. . ...
What if Luz wasn't given the book by her father, but by her mother. I think Camila thought it would be less painful to give Luz something else to hold onto, a piece of her father.
If not, my other theory is that Camila and Luz's father were big bookworms and nerds together, and that Luz's father did really leave her with some piece of him behind.

The more I think I about it, the more I realise how alike Hunter from TOH and Fear Herself from MVT are.
Comparison
Upbringing:
Both Hunter and Arava had strict and demanding upbringings, leading to a sense of duty and resilience.

YEEEEAAAAAAAAAH BABY the Venetian collector is done!! 🥳 Although I love all the characters, the collector had a lot of potential for design bass boosting and well, y’all already know how I feel about that by now 🌝
his character had the faintest whiff of Venetian joker energy so I decided to lean into that and it ended up working super well.
