Then again just last night I started writing a short little Juji story but I donāt know when Iām gonna finish it. I also plan to do fanart but motivation to draw has honestly become more evasive than wanting to write. Nightow is the kind of writer who creates characters out of suffering, who are designed to suffer constantly, and who die still suffering. And he makes you care about them for the rest of your life.

Yasuhiro Nightow will make a character called "Shoehorn the Cowboot" and his special moveset will be destroying the familial bonds between your family and friends and throwing grenade shaped boots at you.
I eat that shit up every time
What I love about both Trigun and Gungrave, is that it shows the vulnerability of men in such an unfiltered way. Nightow gives us men that are powerful and scary and feared among people, even their own peers, but always lets them have a certain softness at their core and allows them to be humans that cry like infants when they lose a loved one and feel intense emotions. I love it so much because it tackles the bullshit idea that men have to cast aside their emotions to be strong. You can tell, no matter how badass these characters are and no matter the stupid decisions they make, that all they want is to be loved dearly.
Also the key for these characters to improve their mental state is NEVER to put up even higher walls, but to let people in and help them. They get better by allowing other people to love them, even when they feel so so undeserving of it because of past sins and mistakes they made. It's fucking amazing.

Sewed Up Heart
[ID: A Trigun comic done in grayscale with red accents. First, an anatomical heart gushes blood, forming a puddle which shifts into Vash's coat. Vash's gloved hands can be seen sewing up a tear at the hem.
Vash raises his hands, which are now bare and covered in blood. He looks sweaty and distressed, and he raises his coat to his face and cries into it. His clenched hands rip the sewed portion apart, and the red thread leads to a heart whose own stitches are tearing apart. The background gets darker and darker, and the red looks brighter and starker against it.
Then the background returns to white, and brown-skinned hands using embroidery scissors snip a red thread. Wolfwood holds up Vash's repaired coat, grinning proudly, and does a happy thumbs-up in Vash's direction. Vash lifts his head, seeming distant.
Wolfwood holds out the coat. As Vash puts out his hand to take it, the cloth is replaced so Wolfwood is dropping a sewed-up heart in Vash's hand. Vash rubs the coat against his face with a teary smile. End ID] ID CREDITS

When that episode happens in Stampede I hope that it's a combination of the church and the couch. I hope that they sit in front of the altar, I hope that they lean on it. I hope that the roof is destroyed and that you can see the ship from within. I hope that the little papers look like flower petals and that the bottle looks like a bouquet. I hope he tries to smile but fails.
I hope I cry.
I just finished all the trigun manga in 2 days because of goddamn Bigolas Dickolas and I have So Many Thoughts I am going to die if I don't write them down somewhere.
UGH sorry itās been so long tumblr Iāve been creatively blocked so badly. Iām gonna see if I can add some of my insta posts on here too over the next couple days but in the meantime, hereās some sketches from the past couple months that I intend to make finish digitally at some point ENJOY :)
The Maya fey one is intended to be part of a much larger piece at some point in the future. Weāll see if I ever get around to actually doing it
