I NEED TO KNOW PLEASE

I use these brush packs on Procreate! Trisketched Ink Brushes (I usually use the OG Inker)

Awk Brush Set (I use the Ballpoint brush in a lot of my work, but sometimes I use the other ones too if I wanna switch it up)

Tuhis 2023 (If you're looking for a lot of textured brushes this is perfect for that. I use Helvi Wash for a more watercolor look and Vino Drybrush for digital painting along with some other ones)

And I also use Pskibobby's Sketch pack brushes for more of a pencil look, although I can't really find a link for it anywhere anymore (if anyone finds it lemme know) All of these are free!

i noticed you post your art on ao3 occasionally and I’m curious if you have any GG fic recommendations? I like the majority of the cast so idc who it’s about, just curious if you’ve got any :3

I'm going to be completely honest with you here, I may not be the best person to ask for GG fic recs... because I mainly came here for one pairing and I don't really dabble much outside of that, and I'm also a bit more picky with this fandom than with others. That being said, off the top of my head I think some fics I've enjoyed reading so far have been:

Mundane & Lazy Life by somewheresometimewatching, which is a series of introspective stories of the Bedfamily's lives after Strive. I really enjoy how much thought the author's put into how they'd think and how they'd interact, it feels like a nice mix between being somewhat realistic but also true to the characters themselves. It's got a lot of heart put into it, so I'd highly recommend it if you want more bedfam content

Swipes of Sword and Fan by Rex101111, which is a drabble collection about Anji and Baiken post XX when they started traveling together. I've been reading (and re-reading and re-re-reading-) this since I first got into this fandom and went on ao3 only to be faced with like 20 fanfics-, and it's really played a hand in how I view them and their deliciously complicated relationship. They've also written some other AnBai and GG fanfics that are just as good and definitely worth checking out.

No One Like You... by Lohan3xists, which is a pretty good (and...also the only one on ao3) TestaNago fic. Basic premise is, they go on a date, but I think it manages to hit all the points of why I like them. It's sweet and playful, but also explores how they move on and live life after such a serious thing happened to them (Happy Chaos and Justice). It's a somewhat short but overall sweet read.

But I'd say just poke around a bit, and feel free riffle through my bookmarks if you wanna! There's plenty of fics out there that I haven't mentioned that are still worth checking out, even if a lot of them are kinda short. Hope that helps!

Hello, vantablackdraws! Do you have any other favorite pairs from Guilty Gear or other works? if it's not difficult for you, can you tell us about them and how you liked them? How do you see the dynamics between these characters?

That's certainly a tall order of an ask my friend... well let's see, for Guilty Gear pairings, I also like:

Chaos and Daryl: I think Daryl can sorta play at his level and therefore possibly beat him at his own game so to speak. I mean he had Chaos convinced that he was a coffee addict only to be revealed he didn't like coffee. I think Chaos would find him interesting. Plus that line "It's so boring here, I shoulda kept Daryl at least." hmmmmmmmmm

Chipp and Answer: Changing Answer's life for the better and from a situation he was similarly in before aside, Chipp is also kind of a dumbass (a very competent one, mind you, but still). And Answer having the energy of "I would literally kill for you but Jesus Christ you drive me insane-" is funny to me. You got a lot of potential for tender/more serious moments as well as some comedy in there.

Axl and I-No: I don't really know a lot about them outside of Strive and some other lore but every time I think about them I get kinda sad, because it feels like Sol and Jack-o except if it doesn't work out. Like the whole "do you love me for who I am, or because I remind you of someone you used to love?" dilemma (plus I-No's whole doomed situation adding an extra pinch of angst-)

Nagoryuki and Testament: Tbh I'm unsure on whether I like this one romantically or more platonically, maybe I'll just keep it vague because I like that. But I think they have a lot of potential based on their arcade interactions and their similar history. Testament understands what it's like to be controlled against your will, or as they (roughly) put it, "I know what it's like to carry yourself like some sort of demon". I think they could also bring out Nago's more lighthearted and playful side (the dad jokes), maybe they could drink tea and go on long walks, just take time to appreciate life again together as two semi-immortal(?) beings. I think that would be nice.

Aaaand the other ships I also like are KyDizzy, RoboVenom, Mayburi, JohnnyTess, SolJacko, and AbaCelsus. They're just nice <3

I recently realized that AnBai really remind me of the characters from Lilo & Stitch by David Kawena and Nani Pelekai. It seems to me that there is a similar dynamic in their relationship (only their homeland has not been destroyed). What do you think?

Honest to god I have genuinely thought about doing some Lilo and Stitch stuff for them, although it was mainly in the context of Baiken and Delilah as Nani and Lilo (Manager Vampire, record player, that sorta thing) But now that you mention it, Anji as David does make a lot of sense. I think if they were in a more modern world he'd probably go out of his way to make sure she had opportunities for jobs, get her to take breaks when needed, just generally be there for support without asking much in return... ...except for maybe one date, if she's up for it.

I can definitely see it, looking at the lyrics you can sorta see that "I'm gonna do this even if it kills me" attitude she had throughout most of the series. Holding onto something that's destroying her so to speak, and maybe looking back on it when she's changed (although I feel like this interpretation leans a little more sad? But then again giving up something you've clung onto for so long is never really easy)

First off, the song absolutely slaps Second off, I can deeefinietly see this being an AnBai song. I think the intro/first verse reminds me of their whole...breakup? situation before Xrd. How did they part ways? Did he leave? Did he want to leave?? Does she think it's all just a game to him? (ouch) Plus his devotion and infatuation, how he doesn't want to lose her, how close they are yet how he doesn't really reveal everything he's thinking, they do indeed got history and also got mystery

Friend of mine had been playing the game for a bit, occasionally he'd talk about some of the characters during our group calls, slowly gained more interest as time went on, found out about Baiken and everything sorta went downhill from there.

Kinda hard to say? I'm horrible at picking other favorites tbh, I think a lot of the cast is pretty fun. Maybe Delilah?

I've actually had that song in my likes playlist for a while now! I never really considered it before, but I can see the first verse being from Anji's POV now that I think about it. Also the following motif that's prevalent in their relationship, following her no matter what path she takes perhaps.
